Even though Fashola is slightly above average, he is still the best this country has to offer, no thanks to the rotten folks we have in government. I must admit it feels good seeing a lot of the GEJ crew raising up issues like these, one thing I just want is that once you are done with this thread open another one and raise similar issues concerning the government at the centre. That sounds fair, doesn't it?
This they will never do! Anyone that believes these people, believes devil. Fashola Is not good but who's better than him in Nigeria including your president?

How many people and families has the administration of Fashola lifted out of poverty in the last 7 years ?( a case of Okada riders and traders readily comes to mind) Rather, what we have is more people sinking back into poverty due to the policies of the state government which largely have negated jobs creation. More companies are going down due to double taxation from the state and local govts. The state of the roads are nothing to write home about especially the Trunk C roads. Some areas, deliberately maybe due to the parts majority of those residing there comes from (Ago Palace way). The fact is Fashola is no friend of the poor and from his actions and policies are subtly passing the message across.
The energy and synergy you are using to criticize Fashola and Lagos would have been used to make your state governor to sit well knowing fully well that Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Cross river, etc have all banned the use of Okada on their major roads.

I won't dispute your assertion on Yenogoa cos I have not been there but i attended a wedding at Alimosho lg area few weeks ago and the environment looks abandoned.
The roads/streets are more than bad, its what you term an eyesore. Fashola did nothing there.

When politicians do little or nothing of what is expected we praise them to high heavens cos they are fond of using propaganda to deceive the gullible. Such fraud happens in APC and PDP govt.
Stop this generalization! Tell us the streets that are bad in Alimosho LG and I will tell you roads that have been constructed and rehabilitated

There are a thousand and one roads in this mega city that are in such bad state that you are left wondering whether you are in Lagos or some other poor states of the federation. These roads have now come to symbolise the forgotten Lagos.
Alimosho local government is more populous than some states in Nigeria. Fashola has tried and let's see what the next governor will do.

Mr Okupe, when terrorist attacked US in 2001, the government hit back at them in Afghanistan, you people are dining with terrorist in Chad and you are talking rubbish that you are at war with them. War with newspaper vendors in Abuja or Mask DSS vs opposition party? Who is fighting who? Smuggled arms are never used for legitimate purpose, that is what DMI used to kill Kudirat and shot Ibru, church leaders has not been lacking in the smuggling lately.
Those were the arms that are sold to BH. Bin Laden was not using Armour personnel carrier yet those at war could locate him, but no one knows how BH get into Mubi in day time. The same Security agents that
cannot see Boko Haram will never miss to dislodge state governors holding meeting in governors lodge even at midnight. Stop the lies, you are only at war with opposition party but at parley with BH

PoliticsAmosun Commissions 13million Naira Liquid Factory In Agbara, Ogun by Aderostock(op): 8:30pm On Nov 06, 2014
UNILEVER Nigeria Plc has commenced its proposed $200m new investments in Nigeria with the opening of a new liquids plant in Agbara, Ogun State.
In the month of September this year,
Unilever’s Global Chief Executive Officer, Paul
Polman had announced that the company will
make an additional $200million worth of new
investments in Nigeria over the next five
years, of which Agbara liquids plant now
represents the first project to be completed
and commissioned under the proposed capital
expenditure.

Commissioning the plant, the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun said, “Undoubtedly, this $13m Liquids Factory being commissioned today is the latest addition to the various long term investments Unilever Nigeria Plc has made in Nigeria recently and it will generate direct and indirect jobs to thousands of people. This is apart from the fact that the Factory will engage in business with many Small and Medium scale enterprises.”
He explained that at the inception of his Administration forty months ago, he made it a priority to create a conducive ambience for the growth of business and development of economic activities in the state.
“While we encourage the development of big industries, we also support the expansion of the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMME’s) because of our belief that both are important for the creation of a strong economic base to take our State to the desired heights, give a better life for the present and provide a solid foundation for the future. Today’s event therefore, is another symbolic attestation to this fact,” he said.
He used that opportunity to remind industrialists all over Ogun State, to be mindful of their Corporate Social Responsibility to their host communities, stressing that they will be supporting the Government in improving the standard of living of the people,
aside from being rated as good cooperate citizens.
“Industrialists that are yet to commence their Corporate Social Responsibility should learn to plough back into their host communities, part of what they have gained thereof,” he said.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan’s Visit To Burkina faso Sparks Outrage by Aderostock(op): 5:44pm On Nov 06, 2014
Jonathan's outward appearance says it all, if he his intelligent why would he as the Commander In-chief leave the country when his military is running away from battle front.
PoliticsJonathan’s Visit To Burkina faso Sparks Outrage by Aderostock(op):
President Goodluck Jonathan’s one-day visit to Burkina Faso was severely criticised on Wednesday by Nigerians who felt it was misplaced and illogical.
The President, in company with a few other
African leaders, had gone to settle the political
crisis rocking the West African nation. But many
Nigerians kicked against the trip, arguing that
he should have put an end to the ongoing
carnage in the Northeastern states before
accepting to mediate in another country’s
domestic problem.
Although the Special Adviser on Media and
Publicity to the President, Dr. Reuben Abati,
had earlier explained that Jonathan’s mission to
Burkina Faso was imperative, having been
nominated by the Economic Community of West
African States, his words seemed to have fallen
on deaf ears.
The outrage became louder when Abati posted
on Twitter, pictures of the President’s visit and
interactive session with Burkina Faso’s interim
Head of State, Lt.-Col. Isaac Zida.
Reacting to the visit, an online commentator, Esther Akin-Martins, lambasted Jonathan for failing to set his priorities right.
Akin-Martins said it was illogical for Jonathan to meddle in the affairs of another nation instead of quenching the fire burning in his home.
“His house is burning, yet he is mediating in another country’s political turmoil. He has failed to even step his feet on Chibok but he believes that the best thing he could do at this critical time is to poke-nose in Burkina Faso’s crisis,” she said, in a statement posted on Twitter.

Also, Abuja-based Eric Mallim urged the President to stop pulling a deceptive front by acting as if all was well at home, despite the fact that things were getting worse.
Mallim challenged Jonathan on Twitter to prove to right thinking Nigerians that his decision to travel to Ouagadougou is a brilliant one.
He argued that the continued killings on daily basis in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe states must not be viewed by the President as mere setbacks in the ongoing war against terrorism.
“Your house is on fire but you chose to abandon it in order to help put out the smoke in your neighbours’ house, while your children perish. Is that a brilliant move?” Mallim asked.

In his reaction, online activist, Sada Abubakar, described Jonathan’s action as insensitive, inhuman and incompetent, while urging him to remove the speck in his eyes before attempting to remove the log in someone else’s.
“Boko Haram is ravaging a whole geo-political zone in the country and our President doesn’t give a damn,” he tweeted.

But, dismissing the outbursts, the Presidency said the business of governance and international relations should not come to a halt just because of the activities of insurgents.
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, argued that only 16 out of 774 local government areas were currently affected by the insurgency.
Noting that the figure, by his calculation,
amounted to only 0.02 per cent of the
country’s territorial space, Okupe asked the
President’s critics if anyone of them had
refused to eat breakfast because of the
insurgency ravaging the north east.
“Terrorists will not dictate to us how to run our
lives. Have the pretenders criticising Jonathan
not had breakfast in view of the insurgency?
Life and government activities must go on in
spite of terror. We shall remain unbowed. No
matter what, we shall win in Jesus name. Evil
will never triumph in our land,” Okupe argued
on Twitter.
Insisting that the present government was not
prepared for the insurgency, he said that
President Jonathan was trying everything within
his power to contain the menace posed by Boko
Haram.
Okupe went on to place a ‘curse’ on those he
claimed were accusing Jonathan of not showing
enough commitment to the prosecution of the
current war against terrorism in the country.
“How can you prepare for a war of this scale
before you enter government? Are you people
for real? Now all that is happening is about
crass opportunism. Sometimes it appears that
many of you defenders of the opposition suffer
from ‘cerebral arrest.’
“If you say the government is not fighting at all,
may the God of the widows and fatherless
children of our fallen heroes judge you,” he
wrote on his Twitter page.

The PSYCHIATRIC TEST needed by Nigerian voters is the coming 2015 ELECTION.
PoliticsJonathan’s Critics Need Psychiatric Test – Doyin Okupe by Aderostock(op): 8:58pm On Nov 05, 2014
President Goodluck Jonathan’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, said on Tuesday that critics of the President needed to be examined by psychiatrists.
Okupe said this while reacting to the statement
by a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in
which the ex-VP raised the alarm over the
activities of the members of the violent Islamic
sect, Boko Haram, in the North-East.
Atiku had alleged that if the activities of the
insurgents were not quickly curtailed, they
could overrun the entire region.
He also berated the leadership of the country,
wondering what it had been doing to curtail the
criminal activities of the members of the sect.
But Okupe said such statements were not
expected from Atiku, who the presidential aide
said had been part of the system.
He said, “Those people saying that this government is clueless need psychiatric test. From now on, anybody who says this government is clueless should be referred to a psychiatrist.
“It is obvious that people are also trying to
make mileage of insurgency. On Monday, a
very notable member of the Nigerian
leadership institution, in particular Alhaji
Abubakar Atiku, took a swipe at the Federal
Government and at the President.
“You know, it’s difficult to comment publicly
about people who have held very important
and highly dignified position in our polity, but
when people go to the extent of trying to make
political gains out of national tragedy, it is
difficult not to say something because this is
part of the misinformation which the Nigerian
public has been subjected to.
“Atiku said that we have problems with
leadership, both political leadership and
military leadership. For a former Vice President,
I believe the comments passed by Atiku
Abubakar, I don’t want to use the word
‘irresponsible’, but I will say it is a little bit out
of place.
“It is not something you expect from an elder
statesman, somebody who has been in the
system and who understands how government
works.”
Okupe, who said he was angry with the
statement of Atiku, said it was wrong for
someone aspiring to lead the country to speak
ill of the armed forces because he would
command the same military if elected.
He alleged that it was statements from people
like Atiku that emboldened the insurgents to
take up arms against the state.
“I remember very well that before the 2011
elections, it was the people like Atiku Abubakar
who said that those who make peaceful change
impossible make violent change inevitable.
“That was his statement and that was what
poured out some of these young people who
have been brainwashed to take up armed
against their state,” he said.
He insisted that the government of Jonathan
was doing everything possible to contain
insurgency, adding that there was hardly any
country not currently battling with insurgency.
Okupe said insurgency remained the problem
facing the country and that government had
been battling it and would overcome it,
especially with the calibre of people serving in
the government.
He also added that the present government remained the best since independence in 1960. He said, “We have capable people who have made name running this economy; people like (Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Olusegun) Aganga; (Minster of Finance, Ngozi) Okonjo-Iweala and others and people are saying this government is clueless. “How can these capable people be running an economy where the government is clueless. Is this possible?
“But I want to say here that Jonathan administration is the most successful since 1960.”

I thought Jonathan did all the prayers Nigeria need in Jerusalem, so he doesn’t think his prayers were answered? OK
Nigerians, keep your eyes closed in prayers, pray in the morning, pray in the afternoon, pray in the evening and pray at night before bed time, and as soon as you wake up, repeat the same cycle, and don’t worry Nigeria, just keep praying, maybe one day God will answer your prayers while your rulers continue looting your future and trashing your safety, what a country! I thought God gave Nigerians democratic voting power to do the right thing for themselves, or maybe not, just keep praying.
PoliticsPray For Nigeria, Jonathan Urges Nigerians by Aderostock(op): 8:23pm On Nov 03, 2014
President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday called
on Nigerians, particularly the clergy, to pray for
the peace and stability of the country.
Jonathan spoke through the Bayelsa State
Governor, Seriake Dickson, during the third
Bayelsa Thanksgiving Day celebration at Gabriel
Okara Cultural Centre in Yenagoa, the state
capital.
The President said, “I wish to urge all Nigerians
to pray for the peace, unity and stability of the
country. This is the time to reunite our country
through prayers. Now that the 2015 general
elections are approaching, people should shun
do or die politics. Those seeking political offices
should know that power comes from God.”
Speaking in his own capacity, Dickson said since
the state House of Assembly passed the law on
thanksgiving in the state, there had been peace
between the lawmakers and the executive arm.
He also said the State Executive Council had
also been peaceful, urging Bayelsans to
continually pray for the peace and unity of the
state to be able to achieve sustained socio-
economic development.
Dickson urged those in leadership positions to
always take service of the people seriously.
According to him, power is transient.
The governor said, “We in leadership are
instruments God has instituted to lead and
salvage the country. Service to people is service
to God. May I wish to remind all those in
power to note that their sole motivation should
be service to the people and not for personal
gains and personal aggrandisement.
“When you leave office and flash back on your
days in government, you will have cause to
smile and be happy because you have led your
people well. This is my advice to those in
government.
“For those aspiring to various political offices,
they should know that power does not come
from the East, West, North or South, but from
God.
“While it is the privilege of people to aspire to
any office, let it be done accordingly. It should
not be a do-or-die affair. Those holding office
should know they are holding it in trust for the
people.”
The General Superintendent, Deeper Life
Christian Ministry, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, who
was the Guest Speaker, stressed the need for
Nigerians to continually pray for the peace and
unity of the country.
He urged Nigerians to appreciate God’s
goodness by being selfless and offer thanks all
the time to God for His love for Nigeria.
Present at the thanksgiving service were former
Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Chairman,
Bayelsa Council of Traditional Rulers,
Amayanabo Twon Brass, Alfred Diete-Spiff, the
state Chief Judge, Kate Abiri, the Speaker of the
state, House of Assembly, Kombowei Benson,
and a host of others.
The auditorium was filled to capacity, with
Bayelsans dancing and singing to the Glory of
God.
