Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has said that the vision of his administration to make the State the food basket of the Southwest as well as generate 50 per cent of Internally Generated Revenue from the agriculture sector by 2014 would soon become a reality as some of the agric programmes put in place by the administration are already coming to fruition. The Governor stated this during a field trip to inspect Eight different projects under the Youth Commercial Agriculture Development (YCAD) programme spread across different parts of the State at the weekend. Dr. Fayemi who toured fish farms in Efon, YCAD Nursery point at Igede and cassava plantation in Iyemero, the Farmer’s Academi at Isan Ekiti, among others, said the inadequate markets for the sale of YCAD products have proved that the State is gradually nearing the actualization of the vision to make itself the food hub of the Southwest Nigeria. He expressed satisfaction that the YCAD participants are up and doing and are working towards a shift from subsistence agriculture to commercial agriculture. The Governor stated at the Efon Fush farm that his previous visit to a privately owned fish farm of about 275 ponds which daily produces 30 tonnes of fish and the output from the youths empowered by the State Government under the YCAD programme has proven that the State is achieving its Agenda 3 which is Modernising agriculture. Fayemi who had consistently expressed optimism that the State could generate at least One Billion Naira from daily supplying food products to half of the population in Lagos State, assured that government would work towards creating new markets for the young emerging farmers so that they wont be discouraged and frustrated by the inadequate market which can lead to a huge business loss. He added that the Government had limited crops cultivated under the YCAD programme to Cocoa, cassava and Oil palm in order to help participants access the markets and sustain a base for the products. The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr Jide Arowosafe also disclosed that the state government has grown no less than 1,150 hectares of cassava in Iyemero and other parts of the State in the first phase of its Cassava revolution, while another 2000 hectares are being prepared for the next planting season. Arowosafe who made this known during the tour said the State Government also has 18 nursery points where no fewer than 20,000 Cocoa nurseries are raised for sale to farmers; adding that the hybrid nurseries which are expected to start producing fruits after two years are to be sold at the rate of Fifteen Naira (N15) in compliance with the directive of Governor Fayemi to subside the nurseries from Sixty Naira to Fifteen Niara. Arowosafe added that 10,000 oil palm and thick nurseries are also being raised and available for sale to farmers. He stressed that the Fayemi-led administration would leave no stone unturned in actualizing its vision for the agriculture by 2014. On the Governor’s entourage in the field trip were the Chief of Staff, Mr Yemi Adaramodu, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mr Tayo Ekundayo, his counterpart in the Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr Funminiyi Afuye, Chief Ronke Okusanya (Arts, Culture and Tourism), Mr Paul Omotosho (Ministry of Local Government) and the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Alhaji Ayodele Jinadu and Special Adviser Government House and Protocol, Mrs Kehinde Daramola. http://ekitistate.gov.ng/2013/06/ekitill-become-food-basket-of-southwest-by-2014-fayemi/

In pursuance of the commitment of the Dr. Kayode Fayemi administration to providing quality healthcare and emergency services to the people of Ekiti State, the State Government has taken delivery of no fewer than six customised intensive care ambulances and eight Fire-fighting vehicles. Governor Kayode who made this known in Ado Ekiti while receiving the Management team of the Federal Medical Centre, (FMC) Ido- Ekiti led by the Hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr Majekodunmi Ayodele, stated that the vehicles were procured to provide stand- by emergency services in different parts of the State. Dr. Fayemi whose administration’s free health programme has benefitted no fewer than 720,000 citizens, said the six newly purchased ambulances, which will complement the ones earlier purchased, are different from the typical ambulances as they are basically intensive care unit vehicles where minor surgeries can be carried out before a patient is transported to the nearest health facility. It would be recalled that the State Government had late last year recruited 153 fire fighters and paramedics in order to bring emergency services closer to the people, with an assurance to establish a functional fire service station as well as an ambulance bay in each of the 16 local government areas of the state by 2014. The Governor while addressing the CMD’s request for an ambulance stated that two of the state-of-the-art ambulances would be stationed in Ado-Ifaki axis and Ipoti-Ayetoro axis in order to serve the area as well as meet the request of the FMC. Dr. Fayemi renewed his call on Community Health Doctors who are operating in tertiary health facilities to return to the grassroots and cater to the need of the people rather than waiting for referrals from the grassroots; saying that their services to the people at the grassroots would best help government in ensuring a healthier society. The Governor however pledged to give support to the Centre; saying that no support is too much for the facility as it serves Ekiti people as well as other Nigerians. Earlier in his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of the Centre, Dr Ayodele, had commended Governor for the brilliant actualization of the 8-point agenda of his administration; adding that the positive impact of the transformation agenda would be indelible in the heart of the citizenry. Ayodele urged the Governor to extend to the. Federal Government owned health institution, the various support the administration has given to state owned health institutions in Ekiti. http://ekitistate.gov.ng/2013/06/ekiti-procures-six-intensive-care-ambulances-fire-fighting-trucks/

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has commissioned comprehensive health centres, constructed in all councils through Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON). Speaking at Ido-Osun, Egbedore Local Government Area of the state while commissioning one of the Comprehensive Health Centres, the governor said that though the programme was initiated before his assumption of office, no efforts were made for the construction of the projects, despite the deduction being made every month, until the intervention of his administration. According to him, but for the quick intervention of the State Government, the money being deducted from the allocations to local governments by for the construction of comprehensive health centres across the country would have gone down the drain. Sequel to the intervention of the administration, Aregbesola said that of all the 30 local government areas in the state, 17 of such projects have been completed, out of which 12 have been well equipped and ready for commissioning, just as work is ongoing on the rest. Aregbesola said that as much as his administration is committed to the sound healthcare delivery to the people, they should ensure the cleanliness of their environment, with a view to ensuring the reduction in outbreak of epidemics and government expenses on healthcare delivery. “We all know that no matter how big a hospital is, it cannot cater to the needs of everybody and that is why we must all ensure the cleanliness of our environment to reduce going to hospital for treatments. “Our medical workers should also ensure that they remain friendly to their patients so that they will not feel depressed. But for a reason, no one will be willing to come to hospital for treatment. “The taxpayers’ money was used for the construction of this health centre and you must treat them as kings and queens,” he said. In his address, Ibrahim Akande, the executive secretary of Egbedore Local Government, said that the government at the state and local level in Osun attach much importance to the health of the people. He said that nearly all aspects of healthcare delivery would be taken care of in the health centre, adding that, “There is infant and maternal care, HIV/AIDS care, treatment of general and various form of diseases, including ones that will necessitate admission.” http://transformationwatch.com/2013/05/27/osun-commissions-comprehensive-health-centres/

adconline: I was hoping to see some data from the governor, he presented none. Just IGR. Veracity of his claim that Ogun has more industries than Lagos? Folks have joined the bandwagon without citing any data. Politicians know that they are leading dummy folks and they always pander to our ignorance by making bogus claims. Show me facts not emotion/propagandayou should know he was indirectly saying OGUN is the new industrial hub of the nation. |
solomon111: sorry, i have been to all the places you mentioned and nothing there that can termed as INDUSTRIALIZATION.I don't know if u meant what you typed. DANGOTE cement located in ibese, Ogun is more capitalised than all the industries in Anambra and Abia. it produces over 10,000 metric tonnes of cement daily. Adding LAFARGE Elephant cement in Ewekoro will be die. have not even mentioned multinationals and some other yoruba industries. |
solomon111: Wtf are you saying?what about sango/otta, shagamu, magboru, mowe? you must be kidding! |
djustice: APC/ACN is a party of fools and dreamers. Ikorodu alone is more industrialised than the whole of Ogun State. If you add Ikeja join, you wan kill dem be dat. Amosun is a fool.Am a yoruba. I wish every locality to be industrialised but truth must be told. most multinationals conglomerate are now moving to Ogun. you don't have to call the Governor a fool. thank you! |
kettykin: for one Unilever that left Aba as a result of funny Board room decisions 3 bigger Multi billion Naira industries (Aba Malting plant, The GZ can manufacturing company,a Chinese firm, Zhuhai Singyes Renewable Energy Technology Company) came to Aba and more will come as Geometric power delivers on its Promise .you misunderstood me. I wish every locality to be industrialised but the point is there are many factors that prevent or make investors to come to a particular area and number one is SECURITY before ELECTRICITY, VIABILITY ETC. |
Eko Ile: What point are you missing? You mean we should kill ourselves or engage in worthless and petty acrobatic display because the governor took bd pics with common cake? Do you really think the rest of us have nothing better to do but to sit around and cry over birthday cake.I tired for these people o. ordinary birthday cakes made some people to get obsessed |
donchris999: Lmao! Tinubu boys are beginning to fight over who is commisioning more properties for the Tinubu family! Fashola you need to up your game so that Amosun will not give jagajagagbantis of south west 100billion naira in cash and properties before you. Its a race that must be won by fashola. Eko ni south west oo! Eko ni jagajagagbantis of yoruba land. LWKMD!We all know you all as bad belle people across the Niger. keep writing gilberish as every community in yorubaland is moving to the greater height at a speed of light. |
Gbawe: Amosun has genuinely performed well in terms of attracting investors to the State. His "one stop shop" for potential businesses and investors has certainly been a good idea. From the same article OP submitted:I just love what's going across all southwest especially ogun state. Unilever Nigeria plc had to close down her factory in ABA, Abia State and moved to AGBARA, Ogun state over security reason and other factors which the Abia Governor failed to address. |

IT began as an innocent question but soon degenerated into a heated argument. And what is this question, one might? Between Lagos and Ogun, which has more industries? The Lagos fans would not imagine any state in the country taking the lead in terms of commerce and industrialisation. They were ready to put their last kobo on the line. They readily cited the ports and some industries around the Ogba and Ikeja axis. But after a thorough analysis, it was generally agreed that Ogun State is now the industrial hub of the nation. The state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun attested to this recently during the administration’s second anniversary. Senator Amosun would tell anyone who cares to listen that Ogun has the largest number of industries and that the state is now a preferred choice destination for investment. And this boast is not hot air. An accountant of repute with many years of experience, Gov. Amosun has been able to muscle industries in the state which hitherto paid taxes and levies to the Lagos State to put their money where their mouth is. And he has succeeded in this regard such that from a base of an Internal Generated Revenue, IGR, of N730m as at May 2011 every month, it rose to N3.8b in May 2013 and is still counting. Thus, according to the Governor,”today, Ogun State is not only open for business, it is business”. For him, the economic gains are there for all to see. With 123 companies showing readiness to locate their manufacturing outfits in the state and 32 of this figure already on ground at different levels of operation, while 27 have fully commenced operations, Ogun no doubt is gradually becoming the hottest ‘industrial hub’ in town. Perhaps, it is against this backdrop that the State government says its Bureau of Lands and Survey is being restructured to make it more efficient with transparent and accountable operations. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/why-more-companies-are-moving-to-ogun/

Mrs. Modupe Onitiri-Abiola, one of the wives of the late Chief MKO Abiola, on Friday declared her intention to contest the 2015 governorship election in Lagos State. Onitiri-Abiola, wife of the acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential elections, however, did not mention the party’s platform on which she would contest. She told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that her motive for seeking the votes of the electorate was to assist in poverty eradication. Onitiri-Abiola said that she worked with her late husband in the struggle for the actualisation of the June 12 elections annulled by the military regime of former president, Ibrahim Babangida, in 1993. According to her, the country needs to start practicing true democracy at all levels of government to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians. The aspirant said if she becomes the state governor, poverty eradication would be the focal point of her administration. She said the same issue should be the major concern of government at all levels. “There should be no poverty in this state or in this country. There is so much poverty on the ground and the situation on ground is extremely terrible, worse than what we thought it was at that time. But, I am trying to look at what exactly is in the interest, actually, true interest of the people. “What I am trying to do now is eradication of poverty; and, I know once you remove poverty, you remove everything and for you to be able to remove poverty, you need to have so many programmes. http://pointblanknews.com/pbn/exclusive/2015-m-k-o-abiolas-wife-want-to-take-over-from-fashola/ |

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Thursday commissioned a total of 11 projects in Badagry and Ojo Local Government areas with a call on the communities to keep the peace in order to enhance development.http://ekoonibajeng.com/index.php?topic=372.0;wap2 |
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has approved the construction two more Maternal and Child Care Centres (MCCs) to be located in Badagry and Epe local government areas of the state thus bringing the numbers of such Centers in the state to ten. Fashola who stated this at the commissioning of the Maternal and Child Health Centre at Ajeromi General Hospital explained that the MCCs have been specially designed in order to respond to issues relating maternal and child health in the state’s growing populace inclusive of referrals from primary health clinics by providing quality services for the restoration, improvement and promotion of the health and well being of women, babies and children in their catchment areas focusing essentially on obstetrics, gynaecology and family planning. He explained that the construction and equipping of the MCCs are being undertaken in phase adding that MCC at Ajeromi General Hospital brings to four the number of MCCs that have so far been completed. Said he, "the maternal and child care centres is a 100-bed specially designed hospital for women and children. It’s a decisive response to the problem of transportation and distance in a way to compound the indices of maternal and child mortality in the state. The first of this type of facility was delivered in Ikorodu, the second one was delivered in Isolo and the third ones in Ifako-Ijaiye, and this is the fourth". Fashola noted that prior to the provision of these facilities, women in labour who required special attention and caesarean section have to travel from Ikorodu, Isolo and Ifako-Ijaiye all heading in one direction; the Ayinke House in Ikeja stressing that sometimes during these travels, complication in labour occurs and death happens which could be of the child, the mother or sometimes both of them. "Since we started building these centres, the story have changed, the incidence of death has reduced and this is because the facilities in Ikorodu, Isolo and Ifako Ijaiye are serving their purpose, for us this is tax payer’s money very well spent. Also, the Ayinke House; the flagship is now undergoing a major rehabilitation" , the Governor stated. He pointed out that the MCCs in Ikorodu, Isolo and Ifako-Ijaiye in their first 21 months of operations, recorded 89,255 antenatal clinic attendances, 15,091 gynaecologic clinic attendances and 121,549 pediatric clinic attendances out of which 5,335 children representing 4.4% required hospitalization. "The Ajeromi Maternal and Child Centre was completed and handed over in July 2011. Operations commenced on the 25th July 2011 and as at November 27, 2011 the records reflect antenatal clinic attendance of 2116, gynaecology clinic attendance of 783 and pediatric clinic attendance of 4,423 out of which 254 pediatric clientele required hospitalization. This facility has since performed 254 deliveries inclusive of 94 caesarean sections and 31 gynecological surgeries", Fashola noted. He opined that the maternal and child care centres will complement other maternal and child strategy in the state to provide expected succor to mothers and children stressing that the construction is a underscores not only government’s capacity to reduce infant and maternal mortality but it also brought to the fore government’s imagination and determination to deliver strong healthcare for children and mothers. Earlier the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris stated that the concept of the maternal and child health centres was mooted with the conviction that intervention provided at the centre would impact positively on the health indices of mothers and children. He opined that the completion of the maternal and child health centre at Ajeromi General Hospital will provide additional referral facilities for functional primary health clinics in the Ajeromi Ifelodun local government area of the state.

The Secretary-General of Lagos Markets, Deacon Lanre Ajayi, has put to rest the controversy that trailed the emergence of Mrs Folashde Tinubu-Ojo as the new Iyaloja of Lagos, saying she fulfilled what was stated in the constitution. Speaking with Saturday Tribune in a telephone interview, on Friday, Deacon Ajayi admitted that though it came as a shock to many people when it was announced by the constituted authorities that Folashade, the daughter of the former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, would be the next Iyaloja, she was qualified to be. He insisted that what many people didn't know was that Folashade fulfilled "to a large extent" what is stated in the constitution guiding markets operations and how a new Iyaloja should be chosen in Lagos State. "Our constitution states that a would-be Iyaloja must be a high ranking-officer in the leadership echelon of all markets in Lagos State. The new Iyaloja, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, was until her appointment, the Chairman of the Marketing Development Board in Lagos State. By this position alone, she has met the basic requirements of the office," he said. Deacon Ajayi further revealed that apart from being the Chairman of the Marketing Development Board (a position she still occupies, it was gathered), Folashade also won the support of over two-thirds of the markets' high- ranking officers who were "constitutionally empowered to select who the next Iyaloja would be." "I know that it is not everybody that will be happy about the development, as no one really knows what was running through some people's minds the day she was announced as the new Iyaloja, even though there was jubilation on that day; but you can't deny the fact that she fulfilled certain critical conditions," he remarked. When asked if Folashade's emergence was not synonymous with imposition of the will of Tinubu, generally believed to be the strongest man in Lagos politics, on the majority of the people, Deacon Ajayi said, "I know the manner she was announced was bound to raise eyebrows in some quarters, but I believe she was not imposed." Saturday Tribune recalls that after the death of Chief Abibatu Mogaji, the famed Iyaloja-General of Lagos markets, rumours started doing the rounds as to who the next leader would be. The situation took a dramatic twist when the Internet (especially various online magazines, social sites and blogs) was inundated with the news that Tinubu had used the occasion of the fidau prayers (Islamic prayers made in honour of the dead) held in honour of the late Iyaloja to pronounce his daughter, Folashade, as the new Iyaloja. This was later declared as untrue, as more reports emerged that Tinubu did not even utter a word throughout the entire duration of the fidau, let alone declare his daughter as the successor to Alhaja Abibatu. Many Lagos residents, including those who made diverse comments on the Internet, have, however, showed their displeasure about and contempt for the decision, but quite a number of others believe there was nothing wrong in what Tinubu allegedly did. Adeola Oshokoya, a resident of Ketu area of Lagos State, said "What this tells us is that Lagos State and its affairs are, indeed, controlled, determined and monitored by this same man. First, it was the imposition of candidates for various electoral positions, now it is the Iyaloja. This goes on to emphasise the notion that he (Tinubu) has got the entire Lagos in his pockets." Similarly, Ayoola Usman, a cloth seller at Oshodi Market, insisted that imposition of an Iyaloja by just one individual was not different from tampering with tradition. According to her, traditionally, an Iyaloja should only be chosen and declared by a traditional ruler. "First, I want to say that I am not against whoever the new Iyaloja is, or where she comes from; but the truth is that choosing an Iyaloja is supposed to be the job of tradition rulers, or chiefs. Tinubu is none of these, so how did he have the power to make his daughter the new Iyaloja?" She asked. Some others, however, said they didn't see anything wrong in Tinubu's daughter being made the new Iyaloja, especially if she was considered competent enough to occupy such a position. "The most important thing is for us to have peace and progress, irrespective of whoever is leading us as traders. Many of those calling Tinubu names because of the emergence of his daughter as the new Iyaloja are hypocrites; many of them would even do worse if they had such an opportunity," said Anuolapo Akintunde, another trader at Oshodi. Also commenting on the development, another Lagos resident, Yemi Adeoba, said, "Senator Tinubu always has a good reason for his actions; therefore, I can bet it that the lots of all market people in Lagos State will be better off with an educated Iyaloja fighting for their cause up there where decisions are made." Folashade Tinubu-Ojo is said to hold a degree in Business Administration combined with Management at the Middlesex University, England, and a Masters degree in Business Administration. http://m.naij.com/news/38677.html |

Next election will be 2015, PDP in lagos is more united than before, Koro's Popularity will be manifested at time appropriate... As Koro will always say power comes from God and time will tell.yes, musiliu obanikoro will be the best candidate for the next election in BAYELSA state cos he got no allegation of corruption or financial misappropriation. this is not 2011, where fisherman president worked against timprey sylva to install Dickson a militant. |
Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State governor, has urged youths in the state to come forward and access the N1.5 billion Research Fund provided by the government to develop new innovations and solutions. Fashola who spoke on Thursday at the Main Auditorium, Lagos State University (LASU), to a cross section of students from various tertiary institutions, including those from LASU, Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Lagos State College of Education (LACOED) and Lagos City Polytechnic, said a committee to set guidelines for access of the research fund, has already been inaugurated, while an Innovative Council, headed by Commissioner for Science and Technology, has been set up. The event was put together to mark his 2,200 days in office. The governor said the idea was to challenge youths to begin to develop new strategies through adaptive, innovative and creative thinking. He stressed that current state of the nation warrants that the training methods be re- orientated to retain the critical building blocks, but at the same time become adapted to the real needs of society. But, he lamented that six months since the year started, no one had come up to apply for the research fund saying that the future development of the country rests in the ability of the present generation to think up home grown ideas and models to solving problems. “Currently for this year the sum of N1, 500,000 was budgeted and to my knowledge no person has applied for the research fund”. “The training of our doctors must adapt to what we are seeing today. Public health issues, life style diseases like hypertension, heart and kidney diseases and cases of cancers. “We must find ways to treat these locally and keep the jobs here. “Our medicine must now focus also on sports medicine which is a growing area of need and which requires specialisation”. “We must stop thinking about treating malaria, and start thinking about how to eradicate plasmodium or create a vaccine for it. We have put a research fund there. Please use it”. On the IPP project, Fashola said the state government is already putting finishing touches to commence the project to service government offices in Ikeja and environs, including the Alausa Secretariat. He said on completion of that phase, the project will be extended to accommodate tertiary institutions in the state. http://www.nigeriacommunicationsweek.com.ng/news/lagos-doles-out-n15bn-for-research-invites-youth-to-access-fund |
By this time next year, the political atmosphere in Lagos would have gathered the right momentum as gladiators scheming to take over from the incumbent; Babatunde Raji Fashola, should have registered their intentions. This, however, is in line with the tradition in the state that prides itself as the STATE OF EXCELLENCE, where the contest for the plum office usually comes with a lot of stakes that are usually very high, in many ways higher than those who could be considered pretenders. For watchers of the polity in the state, the build up to the polls is not generating enough excitement and can best be described as lull with the major political parties seeming to put the question over who to be their respective candidates in abeyance. Owing to the prevailing circumstances, aspirants in the two parties seem to be reading the body language of the leadership of the parties perfectly by ensuring that they do not jump the gun by running foul of the wishes and rules that would guide the process that would eventually throw up the candidates. It is a tale of different strokes for different folks in the two major political parties in Lagos State, while there seems to be some sort of amity and peace in the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is trying to put its house in order. The members of the ACN who have one ambition or the other are keeping such under wraps awaiting the outcome of the on-going merger process with similar other progressive political parties, which is expected to culminate in the emergence of the All Progressive Congress (APC). Some of them believe shrewdly that nothing meaningful can be done until the envisaged merger is consummated and the necessary structures put in place before giving vent to their aspirations which they hope to actualise in the next dispensation. Those who seek to take over from the incumbent in the ruling party are rather watching the political trends while at the same time, watching the body language of their national leader, Bola Tinubu, to know whether the odds would favour them when the chips are down. This scenario has led to so many speculations within and outside the party regarding those who might be nursing the ambition, which are said to be very tactful in their aspiration so as not to incur the wrath of the party leadership. However, those said to be in contention for the office have been making subtle lobby and underground campaigns though many of their moves have been discrete. They have also been enlisting the support of those considered very close to the national leader of the ACN, at least to help sound him out to know where his preference lies in the forthcoming dispensation. In the last few months, a lot of individuals have been mentioned by pundits and rumour mongers alike as either aspiring for the office or have been endorsed by Tinubu for the governorship post. Some other groups have been springing up to campaign for the various candidates who have been tactful enough to distance themselves from them (the groups). In recent times, various names have been bandied as likely candidates for the governorship. They include such persons as Senators Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, Oluremi Tinubu, Bareehu Gbenga Ashafa and all the serving members of the upper legislative chambers are daily being peddled around as likely candidates. Others include a former commissioner for the environment, Dr. Muiz Banire, the incumbent speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji and the current Permanent Secretary in the Lands office, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola. On its part, the PDP, which has been embroiled in factional crisis for some time, the situation seems very muted as they are grappling with how to forge amity and consensus within the rank and file. This has not however prevented those who harbor governorship ambition to begin to ventilate their aspiration and names of such individuals have been mentioned across the state in recent times. One of such is the former High Commissioner to Ghana, Alhaji Musiliu Obanikoro, a real estate consultant, Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, and scores of others but one name that is causing ripples within the state is that of Mr. Jimi Agbaje. Agbaje is hugely popular amongst the people of the state but one major snag that has continued to dog his ambition has been the need to secure a popular platform for actualizing his ambition. Sources within the PDP told ZONAL WATCH that the leadership of the PDP is doing everything to get him into the party from the ACN to contest on the party’s ticket. In fact he is said to have met with President Goodluck Jonathan in furtherance of the objective. http://leadership.ng/person/babatunde-raji-fashola |
austinkenneth: My sincere hope is that as events unfold, Nigerians will realise more and more where the problem lies -- That our democracy is a government of the elite politicians, by the elite politicians, and for the elite politicians.Am not defending tinubu but he's way too smart and intelligent than the drunken and fisherman u called president. did Tinubu make his wife senator? no, she was elected. but Jonathan made his wife to be a permanent secretary in Bayelsa and appointed his niece Allison madueke as a minister. Before Tinubu became Governor, he was one of the directors in MOBIL OIL. |
