From my own perspective as a reader, I don't blame Rachel. Like I used to tell my friends, "never let your emotions becloud your thinking/brain."
Its quite clear that, Rachel allowed her emotion to make decisions for her. Which was her only fault.

Maybe she'll just sleep and not wake up.
