Nigeria’s first African games gold medalist in gymnastics Uche Eke, has set another record, as he became the first Nigerian to qualify for the Olympics in gymnastics, in a keenly contested championship in Egypt that ended on the 27th of May,2021.

He qualified alongside compatriots like Omar Mohammed from Egypt and Nareen Daries from South Africa.
23-year-old Eke who graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan, the United States of America, hopes to become the first African to win a Gold medal in Gymnastics.

The US-based gymnast will be Nigeria's first gymnast to compete at the Games. Uche Eke @uchemantellem (https://instagram.com/uchemantellem?igshid=1p0yhzys9jrfq) , worked at a startup company called Fayble. Here, he was an Application Development Summer Intern specializing in the recreation of the sound of sports fans cheering a live sporting event. He was a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan.

He recently graduated with a Master’s of Science Degree!! Not only is he a great Sportsman but also well-read.

His love and passion are the reason he is competing to win for his dear motherland. Now we have a reason an athlete to cheer to victory during the TOKYO 2020 Olympics.

The House On The Rock (HOTR) Church will be hosting the 7th edition of its Annual Word Conference from Wednesday, 15th to Sunday, 19th July 2020 at 6 pm on weekdays and 9 am on weekends.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the global Covid19 pandemic, all five dates of this highly anticipated Conference will hold, for the first time, exclusively online. This year’s Conference is themed ‘Exceeding Grace In Uncertain Times’, is designed to equip Believers with the richer concepts of God’s grace on how to thrive in this season of uncertainty.

Despite the border controls currently in place, the Church will continue in its long-standing tradition of featuring insightful teachings of Bible precepts by world-renowned gospel Ministers:

The House on the Rock Church has concluded plans to host its annual Word Conference aimed at providing insightful teachings of the Bible precepts.


A statement by the Church said the forum which would be hosted by the Senior Pastor of the church, Paul Adefarasin would be attended by indigenous and international gospel artistes. Entitled: Word Conference 2019, the event is scheduled to hold from April 3, 2019, through April 7, 2019

The statement reads: “ The Conference, said to be designed to equip Believers with the richer concepts of God’s Grace, is renowned for its insightful teachings of the Bible precepts delivered by a prominent roster of international and Nigerian ministers. This year’s Conference would feature Dr. Creflo Dollar of World Changers Church International, Atlanta, USA; Dr. Mensa Otabil of International Central Gospel Church, ICGC, in Ghana; Bishop Wayne Malcolm of the International Coaching Achievers Network, iCAN, UK; Bishop Ransom Bello, Presiding Bishop of Calvary Life Assembly, Kano. “Keeping with the Church’s penchant for great music that glorifies God, the Word Conference will feature musical performances by award-winning international and indigenous Artistes.
