Nigerian Tribes settled in their respective lands centuries ago before you and I were born,our forefathers couldn't read or write so they didn't keep any written records,all we have to know our origin is common sense, geography and genealogical test,most African Americans trace their origin to west Africa especially igboland through geneological testing.

When you see a white man I bet you you can't know which country he came from by mearly looking at him unless he tell you his name or he tells you where he came from,
In Nigeria I bet the easiest tribe to identify are igbos because they are the most travelled tribe in West Africa,the moment you met an ikwerre or anioma if he tells you his name the first thing that comes to your mind is he is igbo even if he denies it subconsciously you will still doubt him.
