I have been a nairalander for years now with another account but I created this one for the purpose

I am 41 without any accomplishment. Single and broke.

I have a low self esteem that I am always afraid of the unknown. I have been fighting this for years but to no avail

My friends I started with in the industry are doing very well but I am still at the bottom.

I missed so many opportunities because I was thinking I could not handle it.

Even though my friends believe in me but fear always ruin it for me.

I hardly apply for jobs and get interviews because of fear of failure.

I have worked hard, learnt so many things and master of none.

My industry is now saturated and to get a job now is very much harder.

And if I want to get another job I will be starting out afresh and companies are looking for experienced people.

The knowledge I have is already phasing out.

I am full of regrets and confused. I feel I have wasted my life.

Can I still make at this age? How do I remove this low self esteem? I am getting depressed as everyday passes by.

I'm thinking the same thing, these people are close relatives oh and even my mama don forward 50k to them because she trusted them. Now they are telling her to pay up so that I won't lose the job. The matter just tire me.

Hello guys, I don't know if someone has been in this situation before. I'll be brief with the story.
There's this relative of mine that told me about a job, he called it a Federal govt job. He said it's a slot and for me to claim it I'll pay 120k and 18k for accomodation and will travel to Abuja for interview. Who has been in this situation please advise, is this credible or I should just dismiss it.

My advise for you is

1. Define what you want to learn (Backend, frontend)
2. Define the language you want to learn (nodejs, python, golang, java, c#, javascript, laravel, etc)
3. Get a curriculum for it and start learning
4. There are alot of distraction and noise but don't ever fall for it. Focus on what you want to learn and complete it
5. Create a thread on nairaland and update your feed with your learning progress
6. When you are done apply for jobs like m*d
7. Don't forget your prayers.

I think it is general for every other programming language especially the likes of JavaScript. Even tech in general. Someone just needs to learn based on waiting go dey put food for table. I do see a lot laravel gigs on LinkedIn especially in European county. They love laravel and symfony there

Really, when there best hands have japaed finish..but still C# no be joke oh. Don't also forget that banks also place an age limit on those interns. Anything above 26 is a no no..
