See a recent report.
I don't see Ogun there.

Looks questionable, considering that the reporter is Igbo? grin

Now you know why your own stats look questionable too.
Lol dude the Naij.com source you quoted

1: has no Date
2: Has no production Figures
3: has no official source backing the Info
4: Is in the Opinion / "Ask Naija" section

grin lol

But of course you believe it over one supported by Two National Agencies complete with date, figures and global trends, including in other products such as Cocoa, Palm and dairy, because yeeeah, it lists both Ebonyi and Anambra as top rice producers, lol!

Typical.

That list is by no way updated, it's an old data with questionable plausibility and should be outrightly dismissed.
Dismissed for what?

It is from the Nigeria agric sector report and data is from 2015.

If it had Ebonyi and Enugu in it, You probably wouldn't have questioned its authenticity.

The one you were referring people to was even older, yet you had no problem believing it still holds water in 2017.

Stop being stupid.

Your Afonja brothers turned this thread to be all about Igbo bashing as usual.

I'm here to make sure you lots burn from your hate, stop feigning neutral, you are no better than them.

How old is the information he is providing? How accurate are they, seeing as they are tainted by the hands of Yorubas handling them.

Why should we take them without questioning them in a country that is yet to get common population census result right?
Why won't they turn it into Igbo bashing.

After they made all the mouth , and it turns out they can't even produce one Tin Tomato "Mudu" of rice.

Hiaan!

The last time their was hike in price of imported rice.
The effect was so highly felt in the North, so much that the Sultan of Sokoto had to intervene.

The North depends highly on foreign rice to to complement whatever they produce. SW not only depend on Foreign rice, they also depend on Kebbi for local rice.

This is the reality on ground, not some silly stats made up by an Afonja Muslim called Sule to get his fellow afonjas thumping their chests like chimpanzees.
Oga stop grasping at straws.

The OP never said nigeria was self sufficient in rice production. infact that was everything his intro was all about.

It is there stated specifically that Nigeria imports rice to augment its local production, and that local production remains grossly insufficient.

The reason why people seem to be taking a Jab at the SE is because of how the Igbos have in the past mocked the SW for not producing rice. I remember a thread where they were like, "Afonja, we have seen rice from the North and the East also produces rice in commercial quantity", When will you Afonjas start producing your own rice". "Afonjas are lazy, they can't even grow anything" bla bla bla.

Yeah, they said it.

So it comes as a surprise to everyone when an updated list of the to rice producing states and regions come out and the much touted SE falls short of its already bloated imagery.

Lol...these people sabi lie ehn. Besides FESTAC, there is no other place in Lagos they have properties. Gala hawking clowns always coming here to make noise about properties as if some of us don't live in Lagos. grin All my life living in Lagos, I never met a potor landlord lol.
I think it is because a lot of modest Igbos living in Lagos when they go home during the festive period usually inundate their people back home with lies that they have 50 mansions and 10 Hotels, or that tha they have bought all of Lagos and pushed the Yorubas into Otodo Gbame grin, forgetting that for every rich Igbo man that lives in Lagos, there are at least 5 other Yorubas who are richer.
