Hi Frankrobbn1, and anyone who can help
I am applying for study permit I came across some issues.
1. There is a place on the imm1294 form for tuition fees. The issue is University of Guelph dont give you tuition fees yet till after you register your courses. However they give you an estimate on the offer of admission, the tuition fee of previous semesters which is more detailed with break down of accommodation and the rest.(for one semester). Should I use that as the tuition fee? What do you think?

2. Same thing with expected period of completion, on the offer they just stated it's a 6 semester course there was no specific date for completion. Should I just calculate the date? Like since it is starting in January and it is 2 years then it will probably end in January 2022?

3. Regarding the tuition fee, the state scholarship is the one covering how do imput the amount set aside for tuition if i am not the one paying?

P.s I sent you an email you did not respond

@ Frankrobbn1 please respond

Yea
You can get stronger ties through a job, a business back home, landed property, and maybe something else I can’t think of now.
But your family (parents) is not a strong tie.

Thanks bud.

I guess this means you are married then, just to be clear on family cuz your wife or husband back home is a good tie
If you are single, that is not a strong tie as having a parent back at home is not an 100 percent guarantee that you would come back to your home country

No i am not married. I guess family ties are out of the window huh?

Hi,
How do I show family ties?

Do I do it in the SOP or by submitting documents like scanned I.D cards ?

Literally, a offer or acceptance letter reference same meaning especially in Canadian SP but could yet be slightly different depending on the institution. However, there is no harm applying with either.

How will this government scholarship funds be made available to you? Does it cover you full educational and LE expenses? Has this type of government scholarship programme/initiative been in existence? What branch/body of government is issuing this scholarship?

You just need to answer these questions within you.

My advise:

Endeavour to include a proof of funds and other supporting documents for source of funds.

Good luck!

Thank you.

Hi, congratulations. I really don't know what you mean by letter of acceptance but when I was sent my offer of admission I was asked to either accept or decline and I accepted. The school has accommodation for students which is much cheaper than regular rent.
I will be going there in August so I don't have much information yet.

Thank you very much. I accepted mine too but some agency guy kept telling me there is an acceptance letter that includes the tuition fees, cost of living and amount you are supposed to pay like a deposit to show commitment.

Well as for me, to your first question, there's no much difference except that a letter of acceptance is usually when you've paid the acceptance fee that's if the school requires you to pay that.

What's the amount of the government scholarship you got? After paying your tuition fee, will there still be extra $10k for your living expenses?

There's no much difference between a student permit and a TRV, it's virtually the same because after you're issued a student permit, it still means you're still living temporary in Canada.

Please, you can go ahead with your application with the offer of admission letter.
Thank you very much. As for the scholarship the amount was not specified but I was told it covers everything including cost of living and accommodation. Is the amount really necessary ?

Hi, newbie here.
I applied for and got admission to the university of guelph. M.Eng I got my offer of admission and all but some agency guy keeps telling me I need a letter of acceptance before study permit application? I emailed the school they only said I may need the offer of admission for study permit application.
My questions are

Is there a difference between offer of admission and letter of acceptance?

I got government scholarship do I need to present any other proof of funding apart from the letter of scholarship given to me?

Is there a difference between study permit and trv?

Ryerson University has a bridging program for Engineers. However, I think one of the requirements is that you submit a PEO committee review letter, meaning you first need to have applied for P.Eng and have been instructed by PEO to take further training inorder to meet its academic requirements. In my opinion, aside from PEng license, it doesnt really help you much in the job market.

There is a chemical Engineer I know that recently landed a process engineer job, you might want to hook up with him for pointers. We have a very small whatsapp group of Nigerian Engineers in Canada, it might help to join the group to get a diverse opinion as I can only know so little outside my discipline(Civil Engrng).

Hi what is bridging?

Update: never mind just Googled it. Thanks for the helpful answer.

What information about the university do you need.

Hi, I got my offer of admission from the University of Guelph, any information will be helpful. And did you get any letter of acceptance from the school?
