The implant messes up with their hormones and prevent them from ovulating (release egg) pregnancy only occurs if the female egg meets with the male sperm, so if the female doesn’t release her egg, the sperm will just be moving aimlessly in her body and cause no harm/pregnancy

A Growing Moral Challenge Among Secondary School Girls

A disturbing incident recently occurred in a secondary school that calls for the urgent attention of parents and society at large.

A female student in SS2 committed an offense that led her teacher to discipline her. During the process, blood was unexpectedly seen dripping from her arm. She was taken to the principal’s office, where she was asked to remove her shirt.

To everyone’s shock, it was discovered that the bleeding came from an implant device lodged in her upper arm.

The implant, medically known as a contraceptive device, is designed to prevent pregnancy during sexual intercourse. Once inserted, it can remain in the body for up to three years.

Upon questioning, the student confessed that she was not the only one carrying the device. A school-wide investigation revealed that at least 40 female students were found with similar implants.

This raises critical questions:

What business does a girl under the age of 17 have with such a device?

How did these secondary school students gain access to it?

What is the role of medical practitioners inserting such devices into minors?

The implications are alarming. If left unchecked, this trend threatens the moral upbringing of children and the future of our society. Parents cannot afford to remain silent.

The Role of Parents and Society

Parents have a divine and moral duty to nurture, monitor, and guide their children. Failure to do so not only leads to societal decay but also carries accountability before God.
Equally concerning is the role of health workers who administer such implants to underage girls. By doing so, they indirectly promote immorality and compromise the values of the younger generation.

Way Forward
Parents must intensify close monitoring of their children, both at home and in school.
Open communication between parents and children on moral, religious, and social issues must be prioritized.
Community leaders, religious leaders, and schools should work together to restore discipline and moral guidance.
Where possible, girls who are of age and have responsible suitors should be encouraged to marry, as marriage helps curb immoral behavior.
What was once thought to be a challenge only among university students is now creeping into secondary schools. This calls for urgent action from parents, schools, health authorities, and society at large. The moral future of our children depends on the decisions we make today.

TO KILL A MONKEY: Great Film, But I Have Reservations. After all the hype and well deserved applause for "To Kill a Monkey", I still have some reservations. Yes, the movie was great, from the acting to the cinematography, but certain aspects of the storyline lost touch with reality.

First off, the character "Teacher" was unnecessary. He contributed nothing meaningful to the plot. The whole fight between Teacher and Oboz felt forced, especially Efe’s involvement. Efe had no connection to Teacher, yet the script tried to insert him into a conflict that wasn’t his. That angle was weak.

You think that Teacher would not have done his homework properly before using the tactic he used on Efe and Oboz?
Efe was a man who loved his family so much and could do anything to provide and save them, that was even the reason he joined bad gang in the first place because his wife made him feel as if he was lazy and was not ready to improve their living condition by rejecting the “job” offer from Oboz

So Teacher had to use the same weak point to get Efe, he knew that Efe in a bid to save his family would put pressure on Oboz to yield to Teacher’s demand!

Secondly, Efe was portrayed as a tech expert and developer, yet he came off as dull. How can someone with the skills to build such a powerful app be that broke and clueless? No real life developer with that level of innovation would still be that hungry and wrecked.

If you’re lucky to have people around that can help you, don’t say those who don’t are lazy!

Thirdly, Oboz didn’t embody the traits of a real mafia boss. He bragged too much, talked loosely, and chased women without class. True underworld leaders move in silence, protect their presence, and don’t get disrespected by women like Amanda in front of their boys.

Letting Efe into the inner circle without proper initiation (vetting) only confirmed how unserious Oboz was. Efe asking Oboz, who owned the structure, for 50% just so he could sit back and collect money was peak greed and entitlement. A responsible man with conscience and empathy who has been writhing in poverty and watching his beloved family suffer and he himself being rejected while trying to get legit job, sexually abused by his female boss would do anything possible to help himself as long as he’s not killing people. Don’t pray to be in his shoes

And let’s be honest, 90% of women would do exactly what Nosa did if they saw that opportunity. Her reaction was predictable; Efe’s weakness was the real problem.

Having a good heart and loving someone wholeheartedly is not a weakness. The weak one is the one who takes advantage of someone’s love and selflessness!

Who wouldn’t run away from where they don’t correct with love? Everything about them is jagidijagan!

Many landlords collect their house rent in advance but from what you post here it means that you pay yours in arrears (for the service you already used) cos how can you make payment in October 2024 and it would read house rent 2024? With that, giving you notice in December of an impending increment in March means he has given you 3 months notice to get prepared for the increment meaning that if you don’t like it, you have 3 months to decide on whether to remain in his house or not

I think you're right. But all he's left to do is to plead for a month extra to vacate since has not been able to find a house. He doesn't even have money to fund any case that would result to that. So, he's at the mercy of the new landlord.

I have a case like this but not like his case.

Mine, I paid rent in October 1st (expiration rent date) to the designated account landlord gave me when I packed in few years back, when he came back from Canada in December, he gave me a letter, telling me he's increasing the rent. When I opened the letter, I saw that it will take effect from March this year.
I don't know what to do because, I am not intending to pay any money aside the increased new rent in this coming October, as he's yet to give me a receipt for that payment which may be that he's expecting me to balance up with the new rent before issuing me the receipt.

What do you suggest I do?

The situation on ground will depend on many things
1. Have you been making yearly payment of rent before?

2. Did the narration of the money you sent into your Landlord’s account read that it is for rent for that period of time?

3. What date is on the letter he gave you for the rent increment and what date did he hand the letter to you?

4. The state you reside in etc

5. Did you sign tenancy agreement that gives the landlord power to increase his rent at specified intervals?

Your rent can be 500k and they'll ask you to pay 1m total package. Considering that he has barely stayed there for a year, IT IS CHEATING.

But if you look at it critically, no landlord will want to cheat a tenant by deciding to sell his own house, so I don’t think it was intentional

The new owner becomes your landlord until your rent expires as long as you have your evidence of rent payment to the former owner intact!

But now that you’ve been refunded and you willingly accepted the refund, your tenancy agreement has ended as long as they gave you ample time to search for another accommodation after your refund (they can’t refund you today and ask you to pack out tomorrow)

So they refunded you and gave you 3 months to move out and you are now complaining. You can’t eat your cake and still keep it


You shouldn’t have agreed to the refund, you should have waited till your rent expires before you agree to move out because that is the official time your tenancy agreement ceases, but by willingly collecting a refund, you shot yourself in the foot

It actually calls for concern, a former head of state, 2 term civilian president and yet couldn’t build a world standard hospital worthy of being used in his own country to treat himself

Every world leaders get treated in their home countries but the case is different in Africa

Things need to change!
