The Illegitimate Operations Of Sterling Global You should Know Odili Ogochukwu – The people of Ndokwa Nation did not cry out for nothing even when their voice is not heard. The delicate protest that lasted for several hours on Saturday December 17, 2022, against SEEPCO was not a camouflage. It aims at telling the world our pains and miseries. The conduct of Sterling Global – an oil firm with its branches in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area and Okpai, Ndokwa East Local Government Area is devious. It’s alarming as government at all levels could not bridle, and regulate the dreadful activities of Sterling Global that have thronged the region into torments. One confusing trait is the silence of Ndokwa leaders on SEEPCO’s exploitation and reticence to give attention to the host communities. Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) has been outwitted the State government and relevant authorities in position of oil activities. Suffice it to let out that the Delta State Ministry of Oil and Gas has failed completely in its areas of responsibilities. The ministry has also failed to carry out proper investigations to ascertain the true position of things in the oil producing communities. How could it be explained that the state ministry of oil and gas has little or no knowledge of oil activities going on in some communities? Even the matters reported of oil spillage and other matters were poorly treated. The ministry declines intervention despite series of letters of complaint and protest against SEEPCO’s maladjustment. The Pathetic Narrative Of Okpai-Oluchi; An Oil Rich Community In Ndokwa East LGA, Delta State Afimag.com - The horn grows by a cub cannot become an obstacle because older cows grow horn. Natural endowments in Nigeria, particularly, Ndokwa nation cannot become a thorn on the flesh. Ndokwa nation is enriched with petroleum resources which have attracted the attention of governments and oil companies to the region for extraction. Nigeria has benefited greatly from the resources of the region. The oil companies are swimming the pool of pleasure as a result of Ndokwa East and Ndokwa West Local Government Areas natural gift. Meanwhile, the region is neglected by both the government and the oil companies. Just as there is no visible government projects to justify her contributions to the national coffers, the oil firms decline to fulfill her corporate social responsibility while exploiting the region. Delta Proprietor Advances Reasons Why Adopted Child Must Not Marry From Same Family Afimag.com - In African culture, an adopted child cannot from the same family he or she is adopted to. Comr. Peter Ozuem, the proprietor of God’s Own School, Ogume, Ndokwa West Local Government Area advocates cogent points. Here are his reasons: 1) The family has already assumed that the adopted son is their full flesh blood and have initiated the son into the family through the rite of adoption 2) For the adopted son to have affair with the same daughter from the family it shows that the son is very stupid and not grateful to the family who adopted him because there are so many girls outside to have affair with. 3) The family Daughter to accept the adopted son proposal of relationship at first place is a very clear sign that the girl is very loose to anything that comes to her way because the girl supposed to at first caution the adopted son of such act. Oil Spillage: Delta Govt Backing Oil Companies To Flout MoU In Ndokwa Nation From Chief G.E Ikwuobodo – One would be tempted to ask if Delta State government is backing the oil companies to flout agreement on environmental protection and other social responsibilities. The question is impetuous following the negligence suffered by Ndokwa people at great magnitude. The people of Ndokwa East and West Local Government Areas have been at risk of consuming polluted water as a result of SEEPCO’s refusal to carry out a proper oil spill clean up. It is eminent that questions be directed to Sterling, an oil firm in Ndokwa land and Delta State Hon Commissioner for Oil & Gas whose responsibility is to sanction the erring Company following various reports and agreement reached in a meeting at his Office in Asaba on September 05, 2022. It was unfortunate that the company flouted the agreement reached at his office amongst which were for a compensation to be paid to me, before Sterling can go ahead to carry out a proper maintenance, cleanup and remediation. Meanwhile, after the meeting, no word was heard from Sterling Oil Company. I once again took the pain (after being cajoled) to withdraw the matter from Court so they can carryout our agreement. Yet, nothing is done even as I have forwarded four copies of letter in reminder to both the Company and Ministry of Oil & Gas informing them of the upcoming flood, and that its impact would be deadly if a cleanup isn’t carried out.
