PoliticsRe: Tinubu Directs Wike, Others To Provide Land For New APC National Secretariat by Afonja2:
Olu1000:
It’s over for Nigeria ! Tinubu is worse than a military ruler ! What do you expect from a former drug lord with stolen identity?
There are many children on this forum.

Let me shock you.

In 1989, IBB government established two political parties: the center-right National Republican Convention (NRC) and the center-left Social Democratic Party (SDP).

That year, Nigeria had 449 local government areas. This number increased to 500 by August 1990, and further to 589 by September 1991.

Nigeria also had 30 states in 1991.

Now, here is the shocker!

IBB built two national secretariats for the parties. Not only that he built two secretariats in each state and two secretariats in each local government in the entire Nigeria.

Let me summarize it for you.

1. National Secretariats- 2
2. State Secretariats- 60
3. LG Secretariats- 1,178.

Now, do the maths.

That is how much the military government of IBB wasted in building party secretariats for NRC and SDP in the ill-fated 3rd Republic.

PoliticsMohammed Babangida Accepts Tinubu’s Appointment, Denies Reports Of Rejection by Afonja2(op): 4:53pm On Jul 21, 2025
Muhammed Babangida has officially accepted his appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), expressing deep gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the trust reposed in him.

In a press statement released Monday, Babangida dismissed as false and malicious the reports circulating online suggesting he had rejected the appointment. He described such claims as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish the image of the Tinubu administration.

“We wish to clarify that Muhammed gratefully accepts the appointment as Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture, as announced by the federal government, and extends his sincere appreciation to President Tinubu for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him,” the statement read in part.

It further assured the public that those behind the fake reports would be identified and held accountable.

“We also want to assure the public that those spreading these falsehoods will be thoroughly investigated and brought to justice. We remain committed to transparency, accountability, and fostering unity within our nation,” it added.

The statement concluded with a call for Nigerians to remain discerning and to verify information from credible sources.

Muhammed Babangida’s appointment was among several strategic appointments approved by President Tinubu to strengthen leadership across key government institutions.

It is getting interesting
PoliticsIfeanyi Okowa, All Members Of The PDP In Delta State Defect To APC by Afonja2(op): 4:02pm On Apr 23, 2025
Following the defection earlier today of the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, to the All Progressives Party (APC), his immediate predecessor and Atiku Abubakar's Deputy Presidential Candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa and all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state have followed suit.

The announcement was made on Wednesday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, by Senator James Manager, shortly after a meeting that lasted over six hours at Government House, Asaba.

Manager stated, “All PDP members in the state, including the governor, former Governor Okowa, the Speaker, the state party chairman, all the local government chairmen and others, have agreed to move to the APC.

“We cannot continue to be in a sinking boat,” he said.

The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Aniagwu Charles, officially confirmed the governor’s defection and the collective decision of Delta PDP leaders and stakeholders to join the APC.

“There is a need for us to adjust our drinking patterns. And in adjusting that drinking pattern, we needed to make a decision that would further help to cement the development in our state, to build the court of law that has existed in our state, to further advance the cause of security and the welfare of our people, and, to a large extent, ensure that development in Delta is not truncated,” Aniagwu stated.

He continued, “In taking that decision, we concluded that leaving the PDP was very necessary for us to be able to collaborate and build a state that every Deltan will be proud of. We believe that what is happening, and the state of the PDP, is akin to that palm wine whose taste has changed — and there was a need for us to change the drinking party.”

Charles added that the decision was unanimously made by party leaders and stakeholders, hinting at a formal public declaration soon.

“By the grace of God, on Monday next week, we will be able to make a very big statement confirming that we are moving into the APC,” he said.

The move marks a significant turning point in Delta State politics, signalling a broader political recalibration that could reshape party dominance in the South-South region.

PoliticsRe: Lagos To Unveil Special Vehicle Number Plates For PWDs by Afonja2: 7:17am On Apr 23, 2025
SmartPolician:
I was trying to see where the commissioner would mention the benefits of having those number plates, but it wasn't mentioned anywhere. Talking about benefits is a basic marketing strategy. This is common sense. I don't know where they get these people to work in public service.
This was how another medium reported it.

In Lagos, a special number plate for persons with disabilities (PWDs) offers recognition and potentially benefits like free medical care and access to accessible public transportation. The Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority (LSNPPA) is implementing a scheme to identify PWDs with specially designed number plates. This could lead to improved accessibility for PWDs, as the government is also working to ensure public buildings and structures are accessible.

Benefits of a special number plate for PWDs in Lagos:

Recognition and Identification:
The number plate serves as a visual identifier for PWDs, potentially facilitating access to services and support designed for them.

Access to Services:
The special number plate might be linked to accessing government-provided services, such as free healthcare in public institutions, as stipulated in the Lagos State Special Peoples' Law.

Improved Accessibility:
The government's commitment to making public buildings and transport accessible could be further supported by the use of these number plates, potentially leading to a more inclusive environment.

Enhanced Public Awareness:
The special number plate can raise public awareness about PWDs and their needs, fostering a more understanding and supportive community.

Potential for Special Discounts or Privileges:
While not explicitly mentioned, the special number plate could potentially be used to access discounts or privileges in various sectors, further enhancing the lives of PWDs.
Financial Assistance and Support:
The Lagos State Government has also provided financial assistance to homes that care for persons with disabilities.

The Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority (LSNPPA) is actively involved in producing these special number plates.

PoliticsPresident Tinubu Meets Fubara In London by Afonja2(op): 7:13pm On Apr 22, 2025
Tensions in Nigeria’s oil-rich Rivers State may be easing after weeks of political uncertainty and protests. Behind closed doors, President Tinubu and Fubara are engaging in quiet diplomacy that could reshape the region’s leadership.

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu met with Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, whom he suspended on 18 March, The Africa Report can confirm.

Two aides to the president confirmed to our correspondent that the meeting took place in London last week, shortly after Tinubu left Paris.

The meeting, it was learnt, was at the insistence of Governor Fubara, who has been desperate to return to office since the president declared a state of emergency in oil-rich Rivers State.

Suspension soon to be lifted?
“It is true. Governor Fubara held a private meeting with the president last week. Fubara has promised to make some compromises. Negotiations are ongoing, but from all indications, his suspension will be lifted before the six-month deadline,” said an adviser to the president who wished to remain anonymous because he was not authorised to speak to the press.

Another presidential aide said Fubara is also open to joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to ingratiate himself with the president and then obtain cover.

“If Fubara joins the APC, it means the president’s chances of winning Rivers State are much higher,” he says.

The Africa Report was informed that Fubara’s estranged godfather, Nyesom Wike, was not part of the meeting and was uncomfortable with such meetings taking place behind his back.

However, Tinubu is expected to broker a meeting between Fubara, Wike, and the Rivers State lawmakers to find a lasting solution to the crisis in the state.

Background
The president had on 18 March declared a state of emergency in Rivers State for six months, just hours after two oil pipelines exploded.

Security officials traced the explosion to a longstanding feud between Governor Fubara and 27 state lawmakers who are loyal to Wike, the current minister of the Federal Capital.

The state lawmakers had, at Wike’s prodding, resolved to impeach the governor for constitutional breaches, including the alleged bombing of the state parliament building.

With Nigeria relying on oil receipts for about 60% of government revenue and 90% of its foreign exchange, the Tinubu administration decided to declare a state of emergency to save the state from descending into anarchy.

He followed up by appointing former naval chief Ibok-Ete Ibas as the sole administrator of Rivers State with full powers to act as governor.

The move was criticised by organised labour, the opposition, the Nigerian Bar Association and several media organisations. Former vice president and opposition leader Atiku Abubakar described the move as a power grab ahead of the 2027 election.

But Tinubu argued that he had the constitutional power to declare a state of emergency even though he had criticised president Olusegun Obasanjo when he took a similar action in 2005. Tinubu’s declaration was endorsed by parliament.

Since Fubara’s suspension, however, there have been weekly protests in Rivers State and cases instituted in court, but the governor has been criticised for not taking a tougher stance.

In his Easter message, Governor Fubara called on the people of Rivers State to continue to support Tinubu.

A letter has been trending online of how Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan blackmailed her present husband into marrying her after instituting a lawsuit against the then married man.

This is another evidence to prove that Senator Natasha is an expert in the game and this is not the first time she will be blackmailing a man under the guise of sexual harrassment.

It will be recalled that the senator accused Mr. Reno Omokri of sexual harrassment, when the latter was an aide of President Goodluck Jonathan.

It took the posting of an alibi by Omokri before Natasha brought down the allegation and some amount were said to change hands for the matter to be settled out of court.

This was how Yorubas and it Lagos ibadan gutter media lied that Adekunle Fajuyi sacrificed himself for Ironsi.

A lie Yorubas have told for long is he died defending Ironsi.

But the fact is Northerners killed Fajuyi together with Ironsi, instead of Yorubas to confront Hausafulanis for killing their brother, they changed the narrative that fajuyi asked Northerners to kill him too.

Does that even make sense?

But assuming it was Igbo soldiers that killed him, will you people believe he asked the Igbo soldiers to kill him?

Won't Yoruba ask questions like, even if he said you should kill him, must you kill him.

Ev!il things that used Lagos ibadan gutter media to write rubbish to portray themselves as good and change every narration to suit them.
