Celebrities / Re: Why Are Only Celebrities Picked As Brand Ambassadors? by AfricaMars: 5:33pm On Nov 13, 2019
AdeniyiJoshua:
Omo, Brand + Celebrity = Money and Promotion. Most brands are not exactly concerned about using non-celebrities as ambassadors. amean, who non-celebrity epp... grin lol... the non-celebrity needs the epp of the brand to gain momentum in their career, but the brand needs more promotion, sales, blah blah... hence they take advantage and ride on the shoulders of ready made celebrities to make their desired statement in the star arena.

In some other sense,, the brand, which is probably perceived to be known and recognized can use their recognition to make a non-celebrity a celebrity and in turn soak in the results that ensue from making a no-ceb. a ceb. But most brands now are not up for that kind of stuff. The glitz world mostly dictates what brands do, they just follow the trend and leverage on available opportunities. For example, Innoson Vehicles and Mercy... BBN produced Mercy and Innoson took advantage of the provision... Gbam!

grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

But it would be much cheaper for them if they can identify someone talented and on the road to stardom. It will be like investing in a stock at early stage. I think that is what the 7thPicture guys are trying to do.

I've probably heard these somewhere before and usually, you'll find that agencies promising you a lot of fame, contracts, auditions, record label signing, endorsements and blah blah blah.

What you may not have heard is that the process can take a very long while and a huge chunk of your resources in time, money and efforts. It takes unto a decade and sometimes, you just might not be interested anymore. But focusing on your talent is different. Improving and showcasing your talent is the best way to become a celebrity, not by making empty noise on social media.

What is the advantage in pushing on and getting better? Imagine Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston only getting a decent career making Hollywood role in his 50s.

A lot of aspiring singers, and other talents that I have worked with in the streaming business whom have spent years trying to make it, have told me (gisted actually) they would have spent a lot of time pushing themselves out there on digital platforms and gauging feedback to get better. How real is this? Trust me, no one can market you like you can do for yourself.

Seize the opportunity, use tools available today to open your own window of opportunity to get into the entertainment market, utilize and register yourself and push your work on www.youtube.com www.instagram.com www.7thpicture.com and even www.nairaland.com.

You HAVE to Believe in yourself first and be confident to put yourself out there! All the best!

Sad story, I went with someone to Abuja this week for a Judial conference and I heard the conference has been postponed because of the tragedy.
