His daughters are much better looking than his wife. The wife has too much teeth and big mouth for a woman
what's your problem? ![]() ____________________________________________________________________ From the Nation Newspaper: Pastor Bimbo Odukoya was a source of inspiration to so many people around the world. Her “Single & Married” ministry changed lives, helped heal and build relationships. The nation mourned when the Sosoliso crash occurred on the 10th of December 10th 2005 resulting in the loss of so many promising young lives – wives, brothers, sisters, daughters, husbands, mothers lost their lives in the crash. Families left devastated had to rebuild their lives while honoring the memory of their loves ones. Most of us will never know what the loss of a spouse feels like until old age. While many Nigerians lost an icon, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya lost his wife, his partner, his friend, the mother of his children. In the midst of the tragedy, he has carried on his ministry and life with grace. In January 2010 surrounded by his children, family members, members of the Fountain of Life Church and Ministry, friends and fellow pastors – Pastor Taiwo Odukoya married South African Miss Rosemary Simangele Zulu at the Civic Centre in Lagos – Nigeria. The bridal train included the Pastor’s 3 children. His two daughters Tolu and Tobi were the bridesmaids. His son, Jimi was the best man and the entire wedding ceremony featured a strong show of support from fellow pastors. Bishop Mike Okonkwo of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission Church (TREM) conducted the exchange of vows ceremony. Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel delivered a speech, Pastor Itua Ighodalo supervised the cake-cutting session, Pastor Paul Adefarasin who proposed the toast to the couple and Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Church of God pronounced the final blessings on the couple. Congrats to the couple and their families. |
Past - A consonant-vowel (cV) sound is added after the verb root (vr). To get the past tense, you'd just have to say the vr+cV. General Igbo uses "r" for the consonant sound, and the vowel would be the same vowel of the verb root. So a typical past tense word would look like vr+rV Examples: (vr) ga -- past tense "ga+ra (rV)"; (vr) me -- past tense "me+re (rV)"; (vr) gbu -- past tense "gbu+ru (rV)".
wow. i'm still scratching my head. but i will figure it out.
Present - There is something called an auxiliary verb for this. For general Igbo it is "na" (ex. O na-abia - [s]he is coming) Future - There is also an auxiliary verb for this one. For most Igbo groups that verb is "ga" (ex. O ga-abia - [s]he will come). So, in conjugating those three sentences you have up there: I ate - m riri nri I am eating - m na-eri nri I will eat - m ga-eri nri This is general Igbo. I don't know how people from your father/mother's place would say it.
thanks prof! is there an auxiliary verb for past tense? |
So, as time went by, whenever my parents spoke English, I would always tell them (in my lect), "I don't understand". Even though I did it jokingly, they overtime got the idea and now have almost entirely switched to speaking to me and all my siblings in Igbo. I can carry on lasting conversations in my lect now.
yes, i've tried to do the same |
