Pastor Matthew Olakunle of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Itura in Iju town, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State,Nigeria has said that he prays for women naked because God answers prayers faster without the clothes on.

He said this while admitting to the allegation of praying for the women in the church naked.

A 32-year-old woman, Omotola Akerele had accused the pastor while featuring in a programme on Adaba FM Akure, the Ondo State, of sleeping with her and getting her pregnant during a spiritual cleansing.

She said it was her mother, a member of the church, that introduced her to the pastor when she was battling with a severe cough.

Omotola, who hails from the town narrated that as a result of the sex she had with the pastor, she got pregnant and later aborted the pregnancy without the consent of her husband.

She told the radio station,
“I had a severe cough and my mother took me to Pastor Olakunle Mathew for prayer in Iju. After praying for me he said I needed a shaving stick and a handkerchief to perform the spiritual exercise which I took to him.

“The pastor told me that if he wanted to use my hair to perform some spiritual work that would solve my spiritual problem. On the night of that first day we got there, he asked me to put off my clothes in the presence of my mother to pray for me in the mission house.
“Since that day, he has been asking me to come for deliverance and when I got there he would ask me to remove my clothes and lie on the bed. He would lie on me naked and be praying for me.

“On the seventh day, he shaved the hair of my private part and my armpit hair and put the hair in the white handkerchief. After that, we had sexual intercourse...

The Saudi government has apologised to two Nigerian pilgrims maltreated by security personnel at the Prince Muhammad Bn Abdulaziz Airport in Madina.Audu Muhammad and Ibrahim Godi, both from Nasarawa State, were reportedly brutalised by customs officers shortly after their arrival in the holy city.

The deputy governor of Madina region, Sheikh Mohammad Albijawi, who tendered the apology during a visit to the victims, vowed that the security officials, who offended the pilgrims, would be sanctioned.

He urged the pilgrims to be of good conduct and perform the yearly spiritual pilgrimage based on religious guidelines and instructions. Albijawi, disclosed that the Saudi authorities have put facilities in place to ensure a hitch-free regilious exercise.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Umaru Salisu Zainabu, commended the authorities for the swift action. Also the victims were excited at the response. Seventy-nine thousand Nigerians are performing this year's rites, according to the Chairman/CEO, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), and Malam Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad.

Also yesterday, the Delta government enjoined intending pilgrims to pray for sustainable peace, unity and prosperity of the state in particular and the nation in general.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who gave the advice during the pre-departure briefing organised for the 75 Muslim pilgrims from the state, also urged them to be good ambassadors by shunning acts capable of bringing the image of the state to disrepute.

Speaking through the Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties, Ernest Ogwezzy, the governor noted that religious pilgrimage was intended for the spiritual edification of the pilgrims, pointing out that he was glad that the Muslim community in the state was embarking on the exercise.

The Catholic Bishops of Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province have urged the federal government to compensate churches and other victims of attacks carried out by insurgents on places of worship.

Mathew Ndagoso, their spokesman, made the plea on Tuesday in Minna, in a briefing after a two-day Catholic Bishops of Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province plenary session, held at St. Michael Cathedral, Minna.

"In the past six years, insurgents have attacked churches and other Christian places in the north, but the federal government is yet to compensate the victims.
‎
"We want to inform you that the Catholic Church has not received any support from the federal government for the Churches affected," the bishop said.

"In Niger, the first terrorist attack was on St. Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, on December 25, 2011.
"Last year, some youths attacked the St. Philips Catholic ‎Church, Bakin Iku, near Suleja, destroying properties valued at several millions of Naira. No one has even sympathised with us," he said.

‎The bishop opined that the federal government was supposed to be responsible for giving assistance to the churches and the victims.

Mr. Ndagoso explained that government ought to be responsible for giving assistance to the victims.
The bishop said that he had personally suffered from such attacks.

"When I was in Maiduguri, my house was destroyed and burnt in my absence. Nothing was taken out of that house. The Church was equally destroyed. Nobody has compensated me or the Church," he said.

Mr. Ndagoso appealed to state governments to issue Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for lands....
