Please i want to find out if it makes any sense to venture into farming on 1/2 an acre ( 3 plots ) of land located in ijebu ode town.
I am based in lagos and wondering if that size of land is commercially viable for pepper and cucumber farming for example -considering the investment required.
I am also a complete newbie to farming and pretty scared - but it is something i want to do.

No amount of land is too small for farming.

3 plots of land is way too good for beginners.

You can see that Mr Okoroemeka started this thread with the GOAL of reaping 500,000 naira with 1 plot of land from just Cucumbers.

I am still teaching on the A,B,C of Agriculture. So far; I have treated A and B.

We, Afro-Agro Power; have created a list of crops which gives a lot of financial benefits, profit margin and are in much demand by people. We call these crops Solution Crops.

We have called these crops Solution Crops not only because of the financial gains investors are mostly to benefit from them; they are called so because these crops can also be managed by laymen who are not farm experts. If you got lands lying fallow; you can do well in cultivating these Solution Crops if you follow our guidelines and instructions.

Some of these crops are Cassava, Plantain, Maize, Wheat, Cucumber, Sorghum, Millet, Ugwu etc.

We do have registered companies.

What are the terms of the loan? We could deal on a very big scale if the loaner is ready to come in as an investor. Else; I don't take loans and I am not caught up for the unnecessary demands these loan companies request for.

Hmm. This is an eye-opener. But how were you able to get the deal from the company in the first place?

By simply connecting with them online. We are also partnered with outsourcing agent companies in Lagos State that gets some jobs linked to us.

Truth is; to do well in business; you need reliable people in strategic places with which your supply chain business matter.

For instance; you can join a simple supply chain of supply Rice, Maize, Soybeans and/or wheat to Lagos markets or Industries that utilizes them. To do this; you should simply seek synergy with them. Be trustworthy. And then; companies will let you do a supply to them; after this supply, they will easily award you a contract as the case may be when you push for it.

Once you already know the fact that "Everybody must eat" and you know how cheap foodstuffs are in the villages and in the rural settlements in the North; your mission should be to build good synergy with farmers in the North so you can provide supplies of food items to cities where they are expensive ensuring you make profits.

No tribalism; Northerners are very good people and are trustworthy to do business with. One transaction leading other successful transactions build the synergy.
