w3a at 36east_ inverto black ultra quad vs strong lnb-dish size=80cm with satlink sat meter

INVERTO...

11785=73%
11900=71%
12073=68%
11940=71%
11766=72%


STRONG
11785=68%
11900=68%
12073=65%
11940=68%
11766=71%

digisat quad gave 68% on 11900..67% on 11940 and 67% on 12073
from test done performance of strong single lnb not too bad after-all...

Am using a 150cm offset am yet to get a 240. Am usifor a 380 for fridge reception
The first three photos are of c band conical scaller attached to a c band lnb...the last pic is the one you should concentrate coz its a Ku band lnb with a smaller conical scaller....if you can note well the lnb is abit higher from the feed assembly... Try it out

No I don't but if you are in Lagos, look for anyone who was into VSAT systems. They may have it. I can refer you to a few folks if you don't know any persons.

Lift the lnb an inch or two from its position

This is focus offset lnb.The ultra is not in the market anywhere either at onitsha. What is easily obtainable is digisat lnb, stargold fuji lnb. Fuji lnb Wiztech lnb. All are high end lnb except fuji lnb which has gotten second grade in the market.

Hello thea bro....try from square one....get the original feed system that came with the dish and assemble it just as you found it before you dismantled your dish. it will give u the correct focal point coz I bealive you are missing an inch or two going towards the reflector and away from the feed support

First, you will need to get the correct feedhorn for that Antenna. From the looks of it, what you have is a 2.4M prodelin Antenna. The right feed will collect maximum signal from the dish while cutting of thermal noice from the background efficiently. When you have the feed then you need to find a matching LNB not LNBF. What you have now is an LNBF which is a combined LNB and Feed. Feed systems are designed to match specific antennas with a given offset angle.

ok agiliks yes that is normal strong lnb but let me see if i can get the 4ways i am talking about for you since i am coming to naija next month , then i will bring it for you.

I want to believe your focal point is the problem. "Play" around tweking and adjusting lnb's your might jst get sometin beTter.

it should be single lnb right!I am sure digisat will beat it flawlessly.. it will be fun to do comparison ..I will post findings 2morrow!

"if the lnb specification is correct,conversion gain of an lnb is not negligible" an lnb with 0.2db noise figure and conversion gain of 65db..will perform better than an lnb with 0.2dB and gain of 55dB on fringe reception! where noise figure is not always correct and it is variable on some frequencies!

looks the lnb is struggling to be at focal point..get a long neck lnb! performance of the dish..should be better than at least 3meter prime focus antenna!

Agikilis that dish cannot get fringe receptions but you can get irib by using scalar ring for c-band lnb.
