Politics / Re: Petrol Landing Cost Hits N1,000/litre On FX Crisis by ahaz: 11:39pm On Feb 14
nairalanda1:
If one has been following this thing for as long as I have, you would see that we are paying a subsidy.

1.APC apologists cry that fuel is not being subsidised...well it is. Landing cost was N720 as at October, now it is N1000..meaning subsidy costs rose from N20-140 to N300-420 per liter today. We are pushing ourselves into more debt so see where we are

2.IN 2012 january, landing cost was N99 per liter, now it is N1000. Fuel price was N97 per liter now it is N580-720.

Assuming Nigeria kept fuel at N97 per liter as some PDP apologists wanted , by now subsidy would have risen from N2 per liter to N920 per liter ...and note that fuel consumption has risen over the years.

We would have a debt that would make our current debt look like the pocket money you give your 10 year old.

See how much subsidy costs? But all of you, be it PDP or APC or LP, many of you want it.

Oya, come and get your fuel at N97....lol.

Buhari was and is still terrible. Late Abacha in his grave 🪦 will be laughing at Nigerians. Why, because during his time as head of state, Nigerians complained of hell on earth and still refused to do nothing.

Starting from 2003 Buhari declared interest to run, south Eastern never voted for him even though twice, he picked a South Eastern as a running mate. Untill 2015 Tinubu out of his selfish ambition along with his cronies who never wish well for this country repackaged Buhari and the gullibles, f00ls, ethnic bigots sing their songs and voted for Buhari despite the warning from South East.

Fast forward to 2023, same warning from South East against Tinubu and APC in general, because of ethnic bigotry, some f00ls in their ignorance decided to vote for a failure because they want to teach Peter Obi, the Obidient and a section of the country a political lesson.

We're all in this mess together.

We should better brace up. This is just the Genesis. The journey just getting started and it's looooooooooooooong.

Las Las, we go get sense by force, then we all will come to round table and discuss 9ja matter and begin to demand for accountability for good governance.

Igbos will forever have the victim mentality because they think everything is about them. When things are not working they think they're the targets. When things are working they think its because of their efforts. Every news on Nairaland is somehow twisted to involve them. You people need to stop this attitude because it will take you nowhere.

You guys laugh at every bad news in the country and somehow tie it to Tinubu Vs Obi, and how you were "rigged" out of "your mandate" while at the same time fighting to get out of the same "zoo" you're crying you were "not allowed to rule."

You laugh online pretending this hardship most people are facing do not concern you, but offline your businesses are folding up and your people are begging for food from the same people you're ridiculing online.
I have never seen a tribe as shameless as you Yorubas..If the Igbos man brags today they are right cos the warned you people twice ad yet you call them all manner of names when the duo won on different occasion..
Instead of you to hide your pathetic faces in shame you still have the balls to yap rubbish..now I know that integrity has no place in a yoruba man's heart.

That the magic of lagos was going to be reignited at the federal level

Eight months after,it is ebin kpawa

What really happened

Where are the heroes of lagos

What is on the ground shows that the policy makers from eko do not understand governance

The policy flip flop has created a condition of acute poverty

Just like one commentator said, only those in the corridors of power are smiling

The rest are facing armageddon,a state of calamity and brutality

The politics of the land is toxic as only lagosians are in power, while the other "O" states are lamenting

Cronyism and inner caucus have betrayed the movement

Emilokan movement is so ordinary and bereft of ideas that grand old Buhari that spent eight years junketing is even perceived to be better.

So, Emilokan is about the fulfilment of personal ambition

Even the Imams that were shouting Muslim/Muslim tickets are busy gnashing their teeth

They have now become wiser its a hoax

Now they can't go for pilgrimage because they don't have N5M

Where will they see the dollar

Who dash monkey banana

No politician is even visiting their mosque anymore

Even Mr. Vice President has become a motivational speaker

He is busy admonishing Nigerians to be of good behaviour since leaders who are to turn things around have lost ideas

The ideas that were robustly generated during electioneering campaigns have vaporised into thin air

Now, the singsong by the talakawas is hunger

Our currency is as worthless as a river that ships cannot navigate

You need a bagco cement sack of naira to seek $300

The economic gurus of lagos have been turned into ordinary finance speculators

All those spotless suits and Oxford shoes are just abracadabra

What happened to years of study at Harvard and Yale School of Economics

Social media have been laughing at them

Even Zimbabweans and South Africans are having a good laugh

South Sudan,a country as poor as anything, is poking Nigeria

Pls where is the Save Nigeria Group

Where are Professor Wole Soyinka and Pastor Tunde Bakare that gave Jonathan nightmares

Where are all the lagos musicians

Where are the Kuti brothers

Have they forgotten their fathers lyrics

44 sitting and 99 standing

This is when the talakawa need them most

Have they forgotten their Uncle Dr Beko Ransome Kuti

Where are the offspring of Late Dr Bala Usman in this respect

And where are the Professor Pantamis of this world

That cried and prayed that the Jonathan administration should be changed

And what has changed today

And why are there no prayers to the Almighty that the poor should be rescued

The Lagos politicians have failed the people

They boasted that it is about brains and not brawl

This is the regime of the most educated people in Africa

What a paradox"

Politics / Re: Order Miyetti Allah Leader’s Release, Fulani Youths Beg Tinubu by ahaz: 2:15pm On Feb 04
Paraman:
A socio-cultural group under the aegis of the Fulani Youth Association of Nigeria has decried the continuous detention of the President of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, by the Nigerian Army.

The group, therefore, called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene in the matter in the interest of equity and fairness for all citizens of the country.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Convener of the Fulani Youths Association of Nigeria, Mohammed Suleiman, and made available to journalists in Lafia on Saturday.

The statement read, “We are aware that Bodejo was picked in his office for some days now and he is being held at the facility of the Nigerian Army in Asokoro without charge.

“The Nigerian Army is not empowered by our laws to detain any citizen. The Police and the Department of State Services are the only ones with the power to detain a citizen. Keeping Alhaji Bodejo for this long period is illegal.

“By this illegal act, the Army is going outside its constitutional duty. They should hand over our leader to the Police or the DSS and grant them records of whatever they are investigating.

“We call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to as a matter of urgency order the immediate release of the Lamido Fulbe, Bello Bodejo.”

The group also described Bodejo’s continuous detention without trial as “unconstitutional” and “smacks of impunity of the highest order.”

“If the Army has evidence against Bello Bodejo committing any offence known to the law, he should be arraigned before a competent court. Subjecting him to illegal detention is an infringement on his fundamental human rights as enshrined in the constitution,” the statement added.

Sunday PUNCH gathered that Bodejo’s arrests may not be unconnected to his recent establishment and inauguration of a 1,144-man nomad vigilante team saddled with the responsibility of fighting against banditry, cattle rustling, and all forms of insecurity in Nasarawa State.

I have been following the propaganda being dishes out against the person of President Asiwaju Tinubu the Jagaban of Borgu.

I will remind the Northern Elders and their youth a brief history. Before we South Western part of the country supported your failure population which will never win a presidential election in Nigeria, you never smell the seat of power by the core indigene of North except those selected by Obasanjo and some retired general.

We took power from the cabals that control you and give power to Muhammad Buhari who has been trying and failing since 2003. What did you repay us with? Betrayal! You subjected our youth to profiling using Efcc and sars, you threaten Tinubu with all security apparatus and went against all the candidate we Yoruba movement under Asiwaju supported. Akeredolu comes to mind but despite your games, we saw through the smoke screen. Akeredolu is our son and we accepted him. Smelling betrayal when Akeredolu went against your decision to install ruga on Southwest by force. You sent your apparatus against him and we supported him for second term.

You subjected Osinbajo to shame and we kept looking and acting like a fool. 8 years of Buhari was coming to an end and all you Elders and youth was drumming another 8 years of North. You never supported Tinubu, he won you hands down at APC primary. He took the ticket at the ground and not because you supported him.

Election came and you failed to deliver your states to us. Your hypocrisy has been noticed for long but we saw you people have over estimated yourself in the political landscape of Nigeria. We won the election on 2 grands. Plan A was to win majority vote by limiting Atiku's vote with Obi candidacy. Plan B was to decimate Atiku not to have required 25%. It was a game planned well because we knew your betrayal from day one.

Threatening we the South Western part of Nigeria with election consequences and the propaganda you have started after Hon. wike decimate your plan to distrubt Abuja with Kidnappers will have a better, sharp and political consequences. I will give you what is ahead of you now, you can play the game if you are capable.

President Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu will win second term as President of Federal republic of Nigeria again in 2027. After is the turn of North Central which you use your 8yrs to subject to terrorism. North Central/South East presidency with South-South Senate Presidency which will be Hon. wike.

I have place the game before you, do your magic. We have tolerated your disrespect for long, this propaganda you started won't go unattended to.
Good piece..like I said, I didn't vote for Tinubu, but no right thinking individual from the south will sit and watch the north ridicule Tinubu.
We all must que behind Jagaban and tell the north to go bleep themselves..we have toleorated their nonsense far too long, let the south and the middle belt come together and damn this Sahel dwelers.

Thank you all!

As far as am concerned, looking at Fubara, he is a gentle man to the core a man that I believe have one level of decency in him.
For years, the Ikweres have being in the control, for Wike as mad as he is, to choose Fubara, there must be some qualities he saw in that man, just like Obasanjo picked Jonathan over Odili, am very sure it's his Ijaw kinsmen just as they decieved Jonathan and asked him to ditch Obasanjo he had it being Jonathan worked to some extent under his tuteledge, what happened to him wouldn't had happened, it was the likes of Edwin clark and the Fat pig telling him to ask baba to go to hell and the rest is history... Despite the Numerical strenght and the high voting population of the Ijaws like one fellow is used to brag about here, Jonathan lost, even the Ijaws gave him more votes than the entire south East according to the same fellow, yet he lost.
Now the same is repeating itself in Rivers, the same bunch of decievers who think they have all of a sudden gained prominence in today's politics wants to decieve this young fine and easy going Ijaw son that I love so much against his boss.

My advice to bros Fubi is to calm down, make amends with his boss, it's never too late, don't listern to the Minority that call themselves majority, bend low for now, achieve what you want then you can build your stand from your second tenure, it's too early to fight a boss who has shown some l bel of political sagacity, just play along and get what you want latter.

Politics / Re: No Nigeria Armed Forces Officer Has Attain The Rank Of Field Marshal by ahaz: 9:52am On Jan 08
Biodup:
I research into the nigeria history of armed forces, no officer has attain the rank of field marshal. Even the most tyrant(abacha) former head of state couldn't promote himself to the highest rank of field marshal.
Under the Military logic, the rank of the field marshall is attained primarily according to the strength of the countries Army.
Secondly, it is given according to the war situation and the war effort for greater operational efficiency and objectives. Again, Field marshal is not greater than a countries presidency, please let's take note of that.

Now fior some reference, during ww2, the Germans had countless Field marshals owing to the strenght of the Army in numerical capacity..during operation babrossa, the Germans attacked with three Million men, which made them organize their soldeirs in to three Army groups, with the famous Lfield marshals Von Mainstein heading one of the Army groups that lead the charge to attempt a break through fior the besiged General Paulus 6th Army in Stalingrad.

Now, for Emphasis sake, a divisions is a twenty thousand men, unde a Major General, an Army is a 100k men under a full four star General, and an army group consists of 3 or 5 Armies which is 300k or 500k men grouped under one Field marshal, now, the Germans had about group A,B,C and army group center. With each having a Field marshal In command with 3 or 5 other four star generals taking others from him.

The same can be said of the Allied forces, the British had Field Marshal Benard Montgomery, before then, Eishenhower was first a Field marshal before he was made the supreme commander still hanging the Field marshal cos it's the last known military rank designate but by appointments he is higher than Montgomery, George Patton was latter promoted a field Marshal, then the likes of General Omar braadly, Maxwell Taylor etc commanded various Armies as at that time yet answerable to the Field marshal.

So finally, let's leave l this African states awarding Field marshals the don't deserve or don't have cos it's just a mockery of the Military tradition.
