Poems For ReviewRe: Rudiments Of Poetry by ahika(m): 11:11am On Nov 10, 2014

you wrote a Shakespearean sonnet. you can as well separate the three quatrains from the rhyming couplet for better understanding. e.g

Though I am at rest
I know my momentum will soon wing me
Laxity my guest
Get ready to flee

'Cos my latent energy
Is sitting on a time bomb
My next poem will be an elegy
That is, if your acceleration is dumb.

Go with your convoy
But leave your nephew Peace
With her I can have Joy
And in joy shall I birth my master piece.

Go with the speed of light
That I may have the wit to write.

I noticed an enjambment in line 4-5

noble cares.
thanks very much

LESSON 4

SENRYU

A senryu is a 17 syllable poem. It is an unrhymed
Japanese verse. A senryu consists of 3 lines and
17 syllables. Senryu is usually written in the present tense and only references to some aspect of human nature or emotions.

STRUCTURE
The 17 syllables should be arranged as below:

Line 1 – 5 syllables
Line 2 – 7 syllables
Line 3 – 5 syllables

Example:

Noble sexy eyes

Balmy, foxy maidens love

With glowing vigor.

Its simple and beautiful. you poet should try it out, let's see what you got.
I thought this is the structure of Haiku. Well, check mine

Ha! Iku

Death the path to life
Feared by earthling sojourners
Non can flee from thee.

I guess you'll need someone in the field preferably an Educationist (with many years of experience) to teach you the technical-know-how of school business OR you can employ him or her as the principal/vice principal and you will be the Proprietor/Principal. Try going to some seminars and read books on Education Management to get brushed up. Many have tried but few have succeeded.

LAMENTATION FOR A COURSE

If everyone was to be
No one will be free
If all wants to be a doc
Then I believe the world will suck
If majority yearns for law
Then it is certain the nation will crawl

The people have shut their mind
My own have become parochial
Nobody wants to tell the child
That life is about pursueing our desire

Oh My profession! they have given you forceful sabbatical
You have been murdered by fanaticals
They have made you grow wild
Those who know the truth have made it mild
Who will rescue you from the oppression of mediocres
hmm.... I weep for the future.

Dedicated to all Educationatists.

Truth be told...I never knew any of this courses existed until I came to the university grin

Most of the people bashing the Op are those who maybe they were giving those courses and had to accept it.

How many of them can rightly claim that they actually opted for PRIMARY EDUCATION in their Jamb Form? grin

And now they are saying the Op is ignorant undecided

The truth is that majority of nigerian jambites apply for professional courses not until the university will change it for them and give them something else. Many of them don't accept it,,some will stay for another year while others will accept the course and write jamb again.

Come to the university and see how many people are buying transfer forms to switch to a better department. Some will even still come back to study that course of their dreams after their first degree...

So what are you people on about huh

Fact is the ignorance started from our primary and secondary schools where we were made to believe that we had to only study professional courses.

I'm still looking for the young nigerian that put CHILD EDUCATION as his first course choice when writing his/her First jamb. Including those bashing the Op grin
