JeffreyJamez: i said it was part of it.....sit down and scrutinize each culture in nigeria and youll see that all of them have some really silly rules.
Nothing is flawless in this world be it religion, culture, principles, constitution. Does that mean we should also shove these concepts into the gutter? NO!! Instead, we should amend them and make them manageable/practiceable.

missberrypop5: i wish to have twins as my 1st issue. Boys. I'll prefer native names. Izunna and Obinna.
Does this mean only Igbos hold their culture in high regard? Where are the jukuns, Igalas, Edos, Fulanis, Urhobos?

JeffreyJamez: Honestly I don't even know what to say to you....the first thing that came to my head after reading that "burial speech" was "fück you And fück culture"....culture is one of the reasons we are backward.... That's all I'll say.. you can name your own child Shekau for all I care,But Please leave my Dimitri and Anastasia alone... biko nu.
fùck culture? An indian, Chinese, Japanese etc., will not say this yet they're not backward. Oga culture is not the reason for the lapses in naija and Africa, our mentality is.

JeffreyJamez: if its a Boy.. Dimitri ...love the sound of that russian name
if its a Girl.... Anastasia ......after my beautiful halfcaste cousin grin
When will Nigerians value and promote their own culture. No wonder some historians opines that our forefathers were the architect of slave trade, exploitation and marauding of our resources by the white men

You'll never see a full fledged white man bearing Chinedu, Kafayat, Omotayo, Ekaete, Ejiro, Alilu etc.

One day our culture will go into extinction and the white man's culture will reign if CHANGE doesn't take place.

bestestgirl: Identical twin girls! Kamsiyochukwu Olivia and Kaosimerem Lizabeth

We'll either call them Kamsi and Kosi or Livie and Lizie

(for non Igbo folks, Kamsiyochukwu means 'the exact way I have asked the Lord', Kaosimerem means 'that is how he did it for me'. So their name is basically a sentence and a declaration of my faith that my twins will come)
I like ur cultural stance.

dopamine222: I scored 56 in aggregate and im going for pol sci / public admin, pls what are my chances in this 2nd list??
Your chances of gaining admission are very high but to pol sci/pub admin I can't say. Just as Emperorking2 said u mayn't be given ur desired course

Assuming you'd gone for Education Political Science and Public Administration you would have been singing a different song by now, but most people shy away from any courses attached with Education thinking that Education being written in your cert means you'll end up in a school, forgetting that Educational students always end up getting two honours i.e, Edu nd Econs students can work in any organisation and Economist will work and will also be treated like a king/queen/superior when he/she finds him/herself teaching in a school

jamestudur: I scored 65 aggregate and I put law as first and second choice, they. did not admit me in the first list
guys what are my chances of getting law? and if not law what am I gonna get? please help me. and I don't know if any one here has any idea When the second list will come out, thanks!
I've seen peeps who had gotten Law but they had 68 (for catchment areas) and 70 above(for non catchment areas). Meanwhile I heard that some peeps also got law with 65 as their aggregate because they are from ELD states

You may be admitted to study English Language and Literature(80% certain) or other related art courses. Just note that your chances of getting Law is very slim but be rest assured that admission is surety

EducationRe: UNIBEN 2014/2015 Admission Guide Thread by ahika(m): 10:38am On Sep 06, 2014
viccipedia: the problem is that no one reads anymore except for exams, everyone just wants a good certificate so they can join d unemployed workforce. If we read books, biographies and so on we would know that great people at some point in their lives, did things for free, so free that people called them stupid. Maybe the neldrizzys should read about d don jazzys and d 2faces and so on, they might just have a change in ideology.
what you pay for is what you value most. Sometimes, when something is free doesn't mean there is no price tag on it, no no no. Sometimes, free things comes with cheap price, the cheapness/reduction in cost has made it attain its ''free-state''

So don't assume that free things will always come priceless. Fa fa fa fao.

Abeg my ink don dy finish. Ma stop here Ha!

viccipedia: good things come to those who persevere, I dnt actually me everything as in everything........but since u said it, well and good.... Nigerians are too money oriented, here we are driven by survival instead of vision.......really sad! sad
I understand that most Nigerians are too money oriented forgetting the fact that whoever loves money never has money enough and whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income i.e., wealth is insatiable, it doesn't bring success, it doesn't equate success because Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.. I understand stand that u're trying to advocate for a change, (which is necessary) because it baffles me when u c most people (in business) with the ideology of ''Everybody for himself, God for everybody''. How will naija move forward if everyone tends to care for himself only or too self inclined? I understand where u're driving at. Read my previous posts and u'll c where I kicked against irrationality [of some producers].

Cheers bro!! You're not alone
EducationRe: UNIBEN 2014/2015 Admission Guide Thread by ahika(m): 9:46pm On Sep 05, 2014
viccipedia: lol! You know why people who expect nothing will always end up getting more than those who expect everything? Its simple, its simply because they actually gave more. wisdom looks like stupidity, but its not.
Nobody is talking about being too money oriented (expecting everything), but remember that the producer pays his bill. He operates a business not a philantropy organization. How will he finance his business, get materials to improve himself?

If there is a case where the producer charges are irrational or too high, then you can apply the humane lecture and get him or her schooled ,
EducationRe: UNIBEN 2014/2015 Admission Guide Thread by ahika(m): 9:08pm On Sep 05, 2014
viccipedia: the problem wiith us from this part of the world is the myopic mentality of nothing goes for nothing , but actually in d real sense, you never make anything till you give everything and expect nothing, that is actually when u attract success.... Contracts fail, agree to disagree, but what goes around must surely come around. You will always attract your type! So who do you want to be.
There is a thin line between generosity, charity and stupidity. If you can't decipher the difference then you aren't suppose to be in the business world. I repeat

If you (artiste) wants quality job, then you (artiste) pay for it.
