#Bringbackourgirls (BBOG) group to the inner
precints of the presidential villa.
The BBOG group, who are scheduled to meet
with the president on Tuesday, had converged
on the Unity Fountain, Abuja, at 9am.
The procession was led by Obiageli Ezekwesili
and Aishat Oyebode, but both of them could not
endure the long trek to the villa, so they hopped
into a jeep. That was before Buhari’s
intervention.
Ezekwesili appeared unusually weak while the
protesters were fewer than usual.
The group left for the villa at 10am, but stopped
at the first gate, which is still a long distance to

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has blasted the All Progressives Congress, APC, over what it termed the “show of shame and national embarrassment” by disgruntled APC members in the House of Representatives that saw fists, shoes and books freely flying.

In a statement released hours after the incident, the PDP stated that the ugly development brings to question, President Muhammadu Buhari and his party’s commitment to democracy, unity and the stability of the country.

The PDP said the “disgraceful” act is a direct consequence of President Buhari’s lack of democratic credentials to exert “much needed control” over his party to respect the independence and sanctity of the legislative arm of government, the very citadel of democracy, as enshrined in the nation’s constitution.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, who signed the statement, said “the barbaric attempt to physically assault a duly elected Speaker, seize the mace, the authority of the House, is a direct attack on the Nigerian parliament which embodies the supremacy of the people and our freedom as a democratic nation.”

He said that what Nigerians witnessed in the House on Thursday clearly underscores the fact that the APC has exhausted its excuses and has now imported its internal contradictions into an independent arm of government as a way to further cover its lack of ideas for governance.

You can't jus blame them. There are so many factors that could be responsible for youths joining fraternity in schools. While few willingly joined, however majority of dem were coerced or brutalized or molested by rival group. In order to seek protection and of course superiority and revenge, the idea of joining these fraternities would continue to occupy ones mind until the individual succumb to the heavy pressure mounted by the company one keeps especially when the individual keeps bad company. Bad company influences teenager's mind more than good company. Another factor could be as a result of urge to belong to social groups with benefits of mouth watering promises. Thats when the individuals willing join. What these misguided youths really need is rehabilitation not blames.
