Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the platform nairaland works on does not really allow much flexibility? Anyway, moving on;

*Create more sections to cater for the ever expanding user base. Not everyone here is Nigerian. Not everyone here cares about politics or romance or celebrities. Nairaland has gone really big.

*A dislike option in some sections.

As stated above;

Emails should be scrapped

A "Google hangout" pattern should be introduced

A user should have the power to hide
offensive comments or ban offensive users...when this is done you don't get to see their comments and they are also unable to mention you

A user should be able to change his or her MONIKER...maybe once in 6 months... It doesn't have to be the IG way...The moniker is one of the reasons people create alternates.

A user should indicate his or her religion on her profile...that gives them access to comment on their specific threads.
No need of swearing for the gods every time I stumble on a religious thread. thereby causing rancour between the two groups

A user's political party should be added to their profile... Just do a Top 5 party and use "N" for the neutrals.

When there's a new political topic ; these set of people get notified first
alongside those who follow such threads.

No twitter display on the profile. That can be gotten via DMs

Memes should not be more than two per a user's comment. The four slots is too much...it makes it look tacky.

Followers and followings should be in a folder. If I need to look at another's followers, all I need do is click on it.

Characters should be reduced...maybe 300 or...

The most liked and shared comments should make the FP... just like IG, a user must have made a salient point to get such recognition.

Pushing such comments to FP would help potential readers get the actual message instead of having to read through to page 7 or so... it can be tiring most times.
Dunno about others, I don't read past page 3.
