Unclesamtech, Thanks so much, when I inserted a new glo sim, the MTN fastlink modem did not prompt me to insert the unlock code, yet I could not browse with the GLO sim in my mtn modem. Does it mean that the modem could not be unlocked?

I appreciate your concern,suggestions and advice.I quite agree that the display problem is more fundamental and appears like a design bug from DELL.This is further reinforced with the comments found on the thread refeenced.

In fact in bid to get the problem solved,I gave it to an Engineer who said it was an onboard vga problem and collected my money for nothing because the vertical lines disappeared for few hours and later appeared.
My questions now are:
1. since i got this dell vostro 1510 from nairaland forum on second hand,will i still be able to ask Dell for repairs or
replacement?
2. Is there a dell service centre in Nigeria and if yes where?
3. Can another board be replaced either with same model or a compatible one?
4. What do I do so that my investment will not go down the drain?

I have a dell vostro 1510 which i got through this forum.however, each time the laptop comes up,the display is tainted with some vertical lines all over the screen.I initally tthought it was a bad lcd but an engineer is suspecting a bad RAM. could the experts advise on what to do.

The second problem is that the battery of the Dell Vostro 1510 core 2 Duo hardly lasts for 40 minutes, Is this a design problem with this brand of laptop or that the battery of this fairly used one is bad?

All experiences mentioned here depend on the location. If you are in a 3G network area,Zain gallops at an amazingly top speed like a gazelle and in other locations it crawls like a snail or is it a chamellion?
