GerogeI:
If you are in band A,
To reduce your bill, and turn the 24 hours into advantage,
1. Put your refrigerator on half duty cycle, it should be off at night. You either use a timer switch (cost about 10k on Jumia) or you switch it off and on manually - labour intensive. Any night you forget is about 2 kwh or credit units or about N500.

2. Invest in grid tied Solar system. This takes advantage of the 20 hours power availability. You do not need to buy batteries, but you need a good Hybrid solar inverter with grid connection. For every 4 used solar panels, you will produce 1kwh of electricity daily. The more you have the more you produce. As a rule of thumb, each 300w solar panel will give you an average of 50w for 5 hours or 250wh or 0.25kwh.

A normal house with lighting TV and refrigerator, without Air conditioner consumes about 6 kwh daily. Putting your refrigerator on day cycle will reduce 1.5 kwh or credit units leaving 4.5. Adding 5 solar panels, will reduce it to 3.5 kwh. Adding 10 Solar panels will reduce it to 2.5 kW hour. Because you must use lighting and fan at night, you cannot go lower than 2.5 kwh daily without investing in Storage batteries which are the costliest part of solar with 2 or 3 years short life span.

At 2.5 kwh per day your electricity bill for band A will be 2.5 x30 days x N230= N18000 approx. Not bad for 24 hours light.
Me wey I don comot for NEPA since they put us to Band A without our consent

Now, it's solar in the day

Inveter at night

NEPA is to charge the inverter for night use

Thank you.
I will save and keep this post. I'm not buying electricity units anytime soon. My remaining units will last till September next year at this rate that we're consuming power.
A quick question though: are you using special or separate bulbs with it or the ones you were using with Disco?
Use energy saving bulbs , irons and basic gadgets

There is a positivity in his statement and I'm surprised that even he isnt seeing it

We now have electric light more than ever before

Paying for Electricity has always been a problem. If most could pay, the Govt have no issues providing 24/7 light for us

I'm glad that under this PBAT era, Light has never been the issue.
Good one dude!

Under PBAT, electricity became elitistic because only the elite and rich can afford the exhorbitant tarrif

Electricity is supposed to be basic amenity for all

Even under the dumbest Buhari, there was no classification of ' Elitification' of light into different Bands

Now tell me, can Baba Kabiru the meatseller, or Iya Chiamaka the Ugwu seller or Mallam Ahmed the shoe maker afford Band A at N209 ?

So, does it mean the above do not deserve to use basic infrastructure like electricity as citizens?

And take note that these constitute vast majority of his grassroot support base as people who so much believe in him

These are the situations on ground while you are praising Tinubu

Even me self. I recharged like 300 units when we were temporarily place in band B before we were moved again to Band A. I haven't bought this shiity band A tariff yet. May be I should be planning for solar power too.
I should have recharged like 50k or 100k that time, chai!
Bro, with 1.5m, you can do solar and inverter

Just go to Alaba market and buy the components yourself ( Solar panels, Lithum Batteries, Inveter and solar reader)

Then get someone to fix for you and you will save money

It's the best decision I took!
