The estimate for normal delivery for mom and baby and 1 day stay is 3640. Exclusive of paeditrican cost and epidural

Estimate for C/S for 3 day stay is 4800. Exclusive of paediatrician cost and anaesthesia. You will get bill for those separately.

My plan was to do normal delivery one day stay but had to do C/S because labour wasn't progressing as it shd. So I stayed for 3 days.

This is the number for there financial councellor. Call for more information. 7702922023

hebrewoman2014:
Hi everyone, wonderful thread. I stumbled upon it 2 days ago and have been hooked. I'm already In the Us to give birth. Atlanta precisely. Any Atl mums-to-be in the house?
I only got a few price quotes before travelling and didn't mail my records to any doctor (wish I'd started following this thread earlier). Now I'm having trouble getting a doctor (I'm using Northside) because I'm already 35 weeks, been here for 2 weeks now though. Faxed my records to the one drs office that would even listen coz of my dates and I've been waiting for their response and calling incessantly for over a week now with no meaningful response.
Please can anyone suggest a good and affordable dr at northside who'd be willing to take me on though late? And approximate costs. Thanks
Or maybe I should just port to gwinnet, though it's far from where I m stAying at the moment.
Help pls anyone!

Congratulations to all the new mums, phema, akelvin, mamcajah, Ogonann.....May God bless the LOs.

I had my baby in Northside hospital, their forsyth campus on the 9th and it was a wonderful experience.

@hebrewwoman, I used northpointe obgyn, dere fee is 2500 for normal delivery and 3200 for c/s. You can call dere office to speak to the obgyn cordinator 7708863555. They ve four obgyns. I used dr Nancy walsh and she is awesome.

@Datochic pls did u apply for d American passport without the SSN? How much did you pay to expidite your Nigerian passport. I need to really get d babys doc on time cos my mat leave is almost over. I am in Alpharetta, abt 45mins drive to atlanta

@ ajoke01 aww! You are in Atlanta too, so are you using north side or gwinnett. One of us here just put to bed at gwinnett last week and she was raving about the services,..... I'm sure she would share when she's fully settled.
[/quote]

I went for my appointment at Northpointe obgyn yesterday o, doctor was ok. I am still very confused cos I just got the total hospital estimates from Northside hospital today. for normal delivery, one day postpartum stay, mothers bill and newborn- 3640, epidural-1040, obgyn-2500.The C/S cost, mothers bill and newborn-6420 Anesthesia- 2400, obgyn- 3200. So I may go to Gwinnett if I will be having C/S.

@nefertitiram, so sorry about your loss. May God give you double for your troubles. It is well with you. You are a very strong woman!

@all, To God be all glory, I am in Atalanta, arrived yesterday. I flew Delta on Friday. Here is a summary of my exprience.

A. Customs @ Nigeria Airport.

Me: Good evening
Customs officer: Good evening. Where are you going?

Me: Atlanta

CO: What is the purpose of visit
Me: ( I didn't think i will be asked any questions) blotted visiting

CO: Do you have your invitation letter

Me: No, I used it to get my Visa, don't have it here. but I have my fit to fly

CO: Let me see it

Me: hands over fit to fly letter

CO: You should always have your invitation letter, so ure not delayed blablabla....

The experience on the flight was awesome. Plenry to eat and drink

We arrived 25mins earlier than the scheduled time and had to wait for about 10mins in the plane.

At POE

Me: Good morning
CO: Morning

CO: What is the purpose of visit

Me: To have my first baby

CO: The first baby?

Me: yes, with a smile

CO: Do u have any relatives in Atlanta

Me: Yes, my aunt

CO: how much do u have with u

Me: 8000 dollars

CO: how long do you plan to stay

Me: 4 months

CO: Do u have ur return ticket

Me: yes

Co: Can i see it?

Me: Checked thru my back, fortunately found the print out

CO: checks it and hand it over

CO: Where is your hubby

Me: in Nigeria, he will come when baby is due

CO: When is the baby due
me: Answered

he stamps my passports and gave me 6 months. I was very happy

Went to baggage claim and immediately picked up my bag.

There was an elderly man that sat next to me on the plane and was very nice. I just felt it was right was to say bye-bye. Saw him has he loaded his bags on the trolley and he added mine to it to save me the stress of pulling my bags o.

One CBP officer stopped us, and asked if we are together. the man said no and mentioned that I am his friends wife and he is helping me because of my condition. the CBP asked how much cash we had, he said close to 8000 dollars, he asked me and I said 8000 dollars. he collected how customs form, wrote some thing on it and gave them back, we thanked him and left. We didnt know he put red alert on it and we were directed to do secondary inspection o. And the waiting game started. We saw some other Nigerians there waiting for examination. We waited for about 10mins before the elderly man was called. He was asked to open his bags for check and saw like 3 of the officers talking to him, cldn't hear them from where I sat. Eventually I was called and asked to bring my bag. They asked me about my relationship with the man and if he gave me anything. Told them we sat on the same row on the plane and he only helped me carry my box because I am pregnant. Asked to see my hand bag and show dem my money. showed him where to find the money in the bag. he brought out the purse and checked and returned it to the bag. Another asked for my purpose in the US, told him to have my baby. asked if I told them at the embassy and I said yes and that I applied for B2 visa, medical/tourism. asked if I have correspondence with hospital and yes and told him name of hospital I plan to use. They checked my box, i didn't have any food, just clothes. just heard them tell each other "that they are clean". Another asked me about my hubby and I told him he is in Nigeria. One of them said I should give dem few minutes to give me clearance. I got the clearance and was asked to go.

Note to self and others: Please don't assume you are free till you are out of the airport. Finish up any discussions in the plane or continue after you ve left the airport. Don't accept help from anyone, innocent acts can put you in trouble. Do not lie, be consistent from the Visa application till you get to ur final destination. Most importantly pray to God for a stress free journey.

Sorry for the long post.

mamacajah:

Hello Ajoke01, I am planning to use the Doctors hospital, augusta (2.5hrs from atlanta). I have only seen people talk of using gwinett hopsital in atlanta. maybe you can connect with them? Me, I will be alone (sobs...) in augusta.. oh well, as long as everything goes well and I am with family, so I doubt i will lonesick so much grin.

@mamacajah, thanks a lot. I have done some cost comparison between Gwinnett and Northside and it is about 2000 dollars cheaper. I think I will consider it as well and it is also 30mins drive to where i will stay.

When do you plan to leave town? Planning to leave next week, God willing.

Hello All,

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has provided information on this thread.

A friend gave me info about this thread in August and I am addicted. I used all the information i got here to apply for my Visa and I got the Visa. I applied for a B2, and the reason I gave the VO is that I am travelling to have my baby, i was almost 6months preggars. The interview was less than 5mins. It pays to be honest. Pray and prepare! I wish all planning for the interview success.

I plan to travel to Atlanta in a couple of weeks with Delta Airline and plan to use Northside Hospital. All the Atlanta mommas, is there anyone planning to use Northside hospital? I also need to decide on the OBGyn.

Thanks!
