Bruce Jenner became a member of Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA 15 years ago. He golfed there almost every day and established close relationships with his golfing buddies, including Wayne Gretzky. It’s a very exclusive, ritzy club with an initiation cost set at $225,000.
But now that Bruce is Caitlyn, there’s a new set of rules that segregates her from the male members.
For starters, the main dining room and bar are male only. They’re actually attached to the men’s locker room and women are not allowed. The women’s restaurant is way more scaled down … in other words, not nearly as nice.
Our Sherwood sources say the board will enforce the rules, which means the camaraderie Bruce shared with the other members will be greatly impeded now that she’s Caitlyn.
But we’re also told the board is open to an appeal by Caitlyn herself. She can attempt to make a case that she can keep the same privileges she had when she was Bruce.
The club is closed for renovations until December, which means there’s time to sort things out.

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Waje and Yemi Alade recently collaborated with One campaign to launch Strong Girl, a new song and music video aimed at empowering women and girls around the world

Nine artistes from seven African countries came together in South Africa earlier this month to write and record this song. Speaking at a press briefing held last week, at the Four Point Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Omotola explained why she got involved in the campaign.

According to her, “I am fortunate to be a young woman living her dreams, a trailblazer of my generation.

I also recognize that many women and girls are not so fortunate, women and girls are disproportionately affected by girl to join my sisters from across the continent to tell the world that we can’t fight the injustice of extreme poverty without fighting the immense gender inequality that persists.”

Enrique Iglesias was recovering Sunday after some of his fingers were sliced when he grabbed a drone during a concert in Tijuana, Mexico.

A representative for the singer said in a statement to The Associated Press that Iglesias was “semi-treated” after the accident at the side of the stage to stop the bleeding on Saturday night. He was advised to end the show but went on to perform for an additional 30 minutes.

“During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident,” the statement read. “He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show.”

Concertgoers at Plaza de Toros de Playas posted photos on social media of Iglesias, 40, with blood all over his white T-shirt.

“He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist,” the statement read.

Iglesias’ show for 12,000 fans is part of his Sex and Love World Tour. His website says his next show is in July in Mexico City.

Mariah Carey isn’t the kind of person who worries about burning bridges, clearly.
On Thursday, the singer revealed all how she really feels about “American Idol” during an interview on the “Kyle and Jackie O” radio show in Australia — and she didn’t hold back. Carey was a judge for a single season back in 2013 along with Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, and she made it clear she has no intention of returning to the show for its final season.

“Hell no! Absolutely not! That was the worst experience of my life,” she told the radio show hosts, before alluding to an apparently show-manufactured feud between herself and Minaj.

“I’m not going to get into what it was. Let’s just say, I don’t think they had any interest in us having a good experience through that show. Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool,” Carey explained. “It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness.”

The “Infinity” singer also took issue with the show dubbing it “so boring and so fake.”

“You have to make up things to say about people,” she said. “Half the time the performances are good. You’d just be like, ‘It was good!'”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Carey has talked about her hellish experience with “American Idol.” After coming off the show in 2013 she told Hot 97’s Angie Martinez,”It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan.”

Could you turn down $40 million for one night’s work? What about $4 million or even $400,000? Heck, if we are being honest, would any of us turn down the chance to earn $40,000 or even $4,000 for one night’s work? Probably not.
But what about that $40 million? Could you turn it down?

Manny Pacquiao did.

Back in 2012, the popular boxer/musician/singer/politician had the chance to earn an easy $40 million by giving the world what it was craving – a fight with Floyd Mayweather. So what did Manny do? He turned it down. He said no to $40 million.

Of course for a guy like him, it is a lot easier to do so, since he was already worth well over $100 million.

As it turns out, Floyd Mayweather tried to make the fight of the century happen back in 2012, by flat out offering to pay Pacquiao $40 million. According to an interview Mayweather gave with Bob Costa:

“I got on the phone with Manny. I done my homework, and seen what he was used to making in big fights. So the offer that I gave him. I offered him $40 million, and said that I would wire him $20 million within 72 hours.”

Who would turn down $40 million? Well, maybe someone who knew that the fight of the century was going to be worth ten times that number. Pacquiao may get hit in the head for a living, but he is not a dummy. He wanted a proper piece of the pie – half of the revenue.

In typical ‘Money’ Mayweather fashion, he said no to Pacquiao’s demand for a cut of the revenue. Floyd even claimed that he couldn’t afford to do it. Couldn’t afford to? A guy that was making $100 million per fight couldn’t afford to split the purse down the middle just once?

Come on son!

Fans finally got the fight of the century a few weeks ago after Mayweather agreed to a 60-40 revenue split with Pacquiao. While fight fans have called it an incredible disappointment, the two fighters made an incredible amount of money for a single night’s work. The numbers are absolutely staggering.

A total of 4.4 million Pay-Per-View buys put $440 million in the pot. Ticket sales added another $72 million, international syndication in 175 countries added another $35 million, closed-circuit streams another $13 million, and sponsorship and merchandise another $13 million.

Add it all up, and you have a purse of $573 million. Subtract 30-40 percent for expenses and distribution fees and you have from $344-400 million left for Mayweather and Pacquiao to split. That means Pacquiao took home somewhere in the neighborhood of $137-160 million. Significantly more than $40 million!

So what’s the lesson here? Know what you’re worth and don’t be afraid to take a stand! Any time you know your talents stand to generate tons of money, demand a cut of the pie, or equity or a lucrative bonus. By turning down $40 million, Pacquiao made at least another $100 million!

The Ondo State Police Command have arrested four students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, for allegedly gang-raping a female student of the institution.Vanguard gathered that the victim is a girlfriend of one of the suspects.
The suspects, according to a police source, are student in the Department of Business Education in the institution.Police source said the victim, who is on admission in a private hospital, was raped at a residence in Oka area of the town until she became unconscious.

It was gathered that the suspects, who have made confessional statements, were picked up after the report was lodged at the police station in Ondo town.Reports had it that the victim who resides outside the campus, was invited by her girlfriend and together they went to visit another friend.

On getting to the residence of one of the friends, others reportedly pounced on her and took turns raping her.
The victim reportedly regained consciousness and on return home, collapsed again and was rushed to the hospital where she was placed on admission after bleeding profusely from her private part.

Ireland’s recent referendum approving same sex marriages has drawn sharp condemnation from a senior Vatican official, who described it as “a defeat for humanity,” the Guardian reports.

“I was deeply saddened by the result,” said the Vatican’s secretary of state, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, on Tuesday. “The church must take account of this reality, but in the sense that it must strengthen its commitment to evangelization. I think that you cannot just talk of a defeat for Christian principles, but of a defeat for humanity.”

Parolin is regarded as the highest official in the church hierarchy after the pope. His hardline stance will be greeted with dismay by Catholics hoping for a softening in the church’s position on homosexuality. They come after the Vatican’s recent refusal to accept a gay Catholic, Laurent Stefanini, as France’s ambassador to the Holy See because of his sexuality, the Guardian reports, citing French and Italian media.

This month’s Irish referendum saw 62% of voters coming out in favor of marriage equality for gays and lesbians.
