That's right. A new millionaire is created every minute of every single day. There are literally millions of millionaires.
Some of these millionaires took 60 years to accumulate that's much wealth. Others took less than a year. Some did it in less than 90 days. And a few did it in less than a minute.
Considering Nigeria in its present state, it is only right it's citizens create alternative routes of wealth.

Politics / Buhari At ICC, Promises To Conduct Credible, Violence-free Polls In 2019 by Akanimoh08: 6:01am On Jul 18, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in The Hague, Netherlands, assured the International Criminal Court (ICC) that his administration would deploy every power within its reach to conduct free, fair and violence-free polls in 2019.

Buhari made this pledge while delivering a keynote address at the 20th anniversary celebration of the ICC, being presided over by a Nigerian, Justice Chile Eboe-Osuji.
The president’s declaration at The Hague reverberated at home as his letter presenting the 2018 Supplementary Appropriation to the National Assembly was separately read at both chambers.

In it, he among others, asked for N242 billion for the use of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the police and other security agencies to conduct the 2019 general election, he promised the ICC judges would be clean.

Buhari told the court that as Nigeria inched towards the 2019 general election, his administration would not only strive hard to conduct free and fair polls, it would also ensure that similar violence, which accompanied the 2011 elections that became a subject of investigation by ICC would not repeat itself.

Several young and innocent Nigerians particularly youth corps members were killed by some blood thirsty hounds in the North who were protesting the loss of Buhari, the then presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The hues and cries which accompanied these brutal killings drew the attention of the ICC which promptly launched investigation into the tragic episode.

However, Buhari while recalling this tragic episode of 2011 and the subsequent intervention of ICC Tuesday, assured the court that the trend would not repeat itself.

“In conclusion, let me intimate you that Nigeria is preparing to conduct general election in 2019. Contrary to the tragic incidents that characterised the 2011 general election in Nigeria which necessitated preliminary investigations by the ICC, I assure you that all hands are on deck to prevent any recurrence of such tragic incidents. We shall do everything possible to ensure that Nigeria witnesses the conduct of free, fair and peaceful elections in 2019,” Buhari said.

Buhari, who congratulated Eboe-Osuji on his election as the President of ICC, thanked judges of the court for electing the Nigerian-born judge, whom he described “as a cherished son of Nigeria,” adding: “Nigeria is very proud of you, Mr. President.”

Buhari, who recalled that ICC was established 20 years ago as a global court following the Nuremberg trials of World War II war criminals, to hold people accountable for crimes against humanity, war crimes, crimes of genocide and aggression, submitted that Nigeria had cooperated with the court in all ramifications.

According to him, Nigeria’s cooperation with the court is predicated on its strong belief in the principles of rule of law as well as its commitment to fundamental freedom as contained in the objectives of the ICC.

“Nigeria has cooperated with, and supported the court at all times. This, we have demonstrated by our full and transparent cooperation on matters on which we are being investigated and also in our several country statements at the sessions of the court.

“Our cooperation with the Court is borne out of our strong belief in the respect for the rule of law and human rights, and in our firm commitment to the sanctity of fundamental freedoms at international and domestic levels, as ingrained in the objectives for establishing the court,” Buhari added.

The president, who said with the increasing spate of crimes across the world today, the ICC’s interventions were more needed than ever, was also swift to recognise that ICC is limited by its inability to act on prevalent crises in states that are not parties to the ICC treaty.

Notwithstanding, Buhari challenged the court to act promptly within its jurisdiction, noting that by doing so, “the ICC reinforces the demand for justice far beyond its own cases”.

According to him, if ICC portrays itself to be strong and effective, it will succeed in sending a strong message to the entire world, despite its limitation, on the commitment of the international community to the principles of accountability, rule of law and corrupt free society.

The sustained attacks in recent times, according to the Hama Batta, Alhamdu Teneke, the traditional ruler of Demsa chiefdom, have resulted in most communities in the area abandoning farming. He said this development might lead to famine soon.

Confirming the recent attacks, the member representing Numan in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Sodomti Tayedi, said more than 50 people were feared killed in the wave of the recent attacks.

She also pointed out that no week passed in her community without an attack carried out by suspected Fulani militia.

Tayedi said, “Our people are farmers but my community is now living in fear since these attacks started in November last year and have persisted up till date.“We are hopeless and helpless; economic activities here have stopped. This is a farming season and if we cannot go to the farm, then poverty and starvation are what is left.

“We are calling on the government, as a matter of urgency, to come and secure our people and constituency since no one is allowed to take up arms, then it is the responsibility of the government to protect people.”

One of the survivors, Galilee Ishaku, a resident of Sabon Layi, said, “Those who attacked us were Fulani and they came when we were in the market because it was market day.

Politics / IPOB Speaks On What’ll Happen To Nigeria If Nnamdi Kanu Doesn’t Regain Freedom by Akanimoh08: 7:29am On Jul 11, 2018
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has claimed that the killings across the country was an indication of an impending catastrophic end to Nigeria.

IPOB warned that the killings would destroy Nigeria unless its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is “released from military detention” and allowed to conduct “referendum in peace”.

The group said its leader foretold the persistent killings across the country.

The pro-Biafra group also faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid, saying he was coming to enthrone Hausa, Fulani supremacy over the rest of Nigerians.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the pro-Biafra group said, “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu via Radio Biafra broadcasting from London foretold what is to befall Nigeria

“It should be noted that when Buhari was crying his eyes out and agonizing over whether to run for presidency for the umpteenth time; at a time when grazing reserves and cattle ranching had not even entered the lexicon of political discourse in Nigeria, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu via Radio Biafra broadcasting from London foretold what is to befall Nigeria.

“As they campaigned vigorously for elections, you would think, they are coming to grow the economy, enthrone justice, breed unity and tolerance, love for one another. No! they are coming to enthrone Hausa/Fulani supremacy, to reposition the security agencies by sacking all competent hands and replace them with their kinsmen in order to drive their ethnic domination of the south.

“When IPOB came with their message of freedom and hope, some people, probably misguided by sponsored propaganda against Biafra due to their dependency on oil and gas, came up with the narrative that IPOB was preaching hate and would cause another civil war. What those that bought into the Aso Rock lies never knew was that war had already been declared by marauding terrorists under the false cover of herdsmen/farmer clash. This blatant misrepresentation is still being propagated by BBC, Bloomberg, CNN and their likes, hence the lack of urgency from international community in tackling the menace.

“The feudal lords are not remotely worried over their open declaration and execution of a deadly covert war on the people of Middle Belt and the rest of Southern Nigeria. This same fate shall befall all Nigerians unless Nnamdi Kanu is released from military detention to lead the people to freedom and safety.”

Education / Re: Lecturer Explains Why Nigerian Youths Prefer Studying Abroad by Akanimoh08: 10:29am On Jul 08, 2018
GrandPa01:
Some stakeholders have said Nigerian youths prefer to study abroad due to the decay in the nation’s education system . They spoke during a programme in Lagos on how Nigerians could study abroad with ease organised by the University of Sunderland ,
United Kingdom . The programme was held simultaneously in Lagos , Benin and Port Harcourt .

A Nigerian lecturer at the University of Sunderland , Larry Jones lamented that incessant strike in the nation ’ s tertiary institution had resulted in students spending up to six years for a course that should run for four years.

“ One of the reasons many youths want to study abroad is the quality they get . University of Sunderland understands the importance of giving the best . Our system back home in those days is measured with that of the UK , what has happened ? Over time, there is decay ; there is a system that is
not working for the young people . Something is wrong with our education system ; we should change the way we do things . The way forward is for those coming to study abroad to go back and change things , ” he said .

Deputy Director , International , University of Sunderland , UK , Ian Moody said the school had been having students from Nigeria for almost a decade now , and the exhibition is to help students gain
admission into the institution which had been in existence for over 100 years.

“ We have really found out that Nigerian students are of high quality and standard . They add more value to the curriculum of the university . We know it has been difficult getting Nigerian students into UK in terms of visas and fees . And what we want to do is
give back to Nigerians and Africans in terms of offering scholarships . ”

I did part of my medical study in South African and when I returned back to Nigeria, I was hit with 1 week of depression.
The health care system in South Africa is far above that which I have seen in Nigeria. I was disappointed with this country.
