Since you are for M.Sc., you are competing with people from your state - sharpen your communication skills and talk well if given the opportunity. Most of the panelists at the interview may be from Engineering background and will struggle to understand your research and statement of purpose coming from none engineering background.

Being an M.Sc. candidate, explain your statement of purpose very well and situate it to the oil and gas industry.

The competition is fierce and you are competing with people from your own state. Hope for the best as I cant say much as I don't know what the interviewers will be asking. Go through the thread for comments made by people here.

Thanks for your response. His initial proposal haven't much to say about oil and gas since interviewers emphasises much on applicability of the research to oil and gas. His course of study is none technical, it is on finance. So I had to redraft to suit the oil and gas, which I want him to go to the interview with and a copy to give them.

I got PTDF scholarship with a finance background related to oil and gas. Thats what I wanted to do for him.

I am of Finance background too. You have better experience since you have the scholarship.

Can you give some key items in a good oil and gas research proposal? Pls highlight your finances interview experience for our benefit.

I edited my application to add professional qualification but I didn't find my LGA in the relevant section again. I only saw about 10 LGAs out of over 20 in my state. Who else is experiencing this pls? Is it the site problem?

SOP is important but not a criteria for shortlisting
For those asking about the likely questions, it's just like your normal project defence in school the question will be according to what you present and few other related thing that come to their mind.

I have published a paper in a journal. Please will they issue me a certificate as proof? If no, what would I use to prove that I published a paper?

Include your paper's ISSN, ULR/DOI. You can also add any publication certificate but I don't think it's necessary (check PTDF advert on publication)

There are no past questions but there's a guide to follow. Someone from the previous set sent me the format.
Your SOP is very important. Infact, it will determine whether you will be shortlisted for the interview along with other required document.

Pls, I do not understand this requirement number 3 below about the PIN. Is it the PTDF application generated PIN? If yes, where should I include it? Some one should help me explain please. Also I did not find a place to attach a professional qualification. What should I do?

1) First Degree Certificate or Statement of Result
2) NYSC discharge certificate
3) WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO results as well as the PIN numbers on the application forms to enable PTDF view the O’level results on the relevant website).
4) Recent Passport Photograph
5) Local Government Identification Letter
6) Master’s Degree Certificate (PhD Applicants only)
7) Evidence of membership of professional associations

Any update on this. I Apply for PhD scholarship though without offer letter from the university due to short notice by NNDC. Just felt I should try rather than let it go like that. Now, the university is willing to give me an offer. Those with insider eye, will a case like this be accepted for shortlist by NDDC? Are there accepted cases like mine in the past?
