The GTX970 had 3.5GB usuable not 4GB..they lied
Maxwell architecture does not support async compute, they said it did.
For all I know the GTX1080 was running on max fan speed on an open test bench to hit those low load temps and that wasn't a proper gaming load...PR stunt. Following some testing after it's release, the 1080 runs at 82C out of the box, until one sets a new fan profile

Nvidia make excellent products but capitalises on its very strong mind share and they are milking it...how can the reference card be $100 more just because it's now called the Founders Edition?...that's robbery because they know people will buy it just to have the latest. It's the same with Intel.

Nvidia will have a hard time in the future and I'll tell you why. AMD owns the console market, PS4, XBox one and now Nintendo, which means game developers are developing games using AMD architecture. DX12, Vulkan (based on AMD's own Mantle, which has similar techniques to what developers use on the console) brings out the best in AMD GPU architecture and also thrives on using more CPU cores (AMD have a very affordable 8 core CPU - FX8350 ,FX9590 albeit it's 4-5 years old they are power hungry CPU's but Zen will fix all that). In the near future, I believe games will natively have better optimisation on AMD GPU's/CPU's.

I completely forgot how unforgiving Nurburing is...I must have spent the better half of today trying to get a good setup in the Aston Martin GT3...that track is a bumpy as fv**. Finally managed to get two clean laps with best time 7:09...

You have to be immersed in a genre to tell the difference between the games in that genre. MK and Injustice will bear similarities, no doubt. They are both developed by NetherRealm Studios. But there will be obvious differences between them as well. NetherRealm is not stupid enough to release MKX with DC characters. They'll definitely try to differentiate the gameplay of Injustice 2 from MKX.

After the way Netherealm and WB treated us owners of MKX but completely(without any explanation) dropping support for MKX, PC version...I'm not likely to buy any fighting games from them.

Na practice...I remember setting a time of around 6:02 Nurburing on GranTurismo 4 on the PS2...back in the days...with the Nissan Motul Pitworks Z..450BHP only ABS on. I won't drive without ABS, nothing more annoying than wheels locking.

Although there's progressive braking with the pedals, braking with the left foot and accelerating with right foot needs finessing.

Dis guy sef, you too like "turn off all assists". Depends tho, if is a high powered(>GT4) car then TCS is usually left on...the least I always have on though is ABS...all others assist are off.

What car class did you play on nurburing? My fav is GT3..

Getting used to the very precise controls and force feedback (feels like its about to snap my wrist), I'm loosing races where I'd win with the PS4 DS4 controller...a matter of time though.

They do have the 4460k. It is the overclockable edition of the 4460. About the RAM, yes. I was typing really fast and didn't correct it. I will check the model number, but it is a gigabyte motherboard.

Unless I'm missing something,not on Intels website. It doesn't exist. If you have one then show it overclocked. Not the turbo boost clockof 3.4ghz...It may be overclockable using the BCLK but not the multiplier..but lets see what you've got.

The first is slightly better, but I would tell you to wait since Nvidia just released their new cards and so the current cards will become even cheaper. Then you can go for a GTX 970. Also you can get a more powerful powersupply. I always go minimum of 650w. That overhead will helo you. You don't need an SSD. My PC starts up in like 6 seconds and games load up fast. Do you need a DVD writer. that is a relic of the past and extra unnecessary cost. You can make sure the motherboard supports Sli so that in the future you can add another graphics card to double up performance. Run away from AMD processors.

AMD processors are very good value for money tbh but it all boils down to preference. For instance, paired with a GTX 970, the latest i5-6600K+Asus Sabertooth Z170 mobo will set you back around £350 but the FX8320 + M5A97 mobo will set you back £145 BUT the intel/asus combo will deliver an average of 50% gaming performance increase at a cost 190% more...not so great when you look at it like that.
I call BS with the PC start up without an SSD in 6 seconds...heck I get around 10 seconds with the Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD.

Intel don't have a 4460K. Do you mean the 4460? oh and do you also mean 1866MHz RAM?

Tekken 7 may be coming to PC

I came across that yday...hopefully it would...I've never really been a huge fan of fireballs, teleporting etc although I enjoy a game or two of MKX but Tekken's my ideal fist to fist fighting game.

Has Tekken 7 on PC been confirmed? I've missed playing it..had it on the PS3...it's been a long while. I've seen teasers but not heard much about a PC version...thatsme and google tonight..

Secondly, i discovered the Pes'16 is kinda slow in gameplay,despite the fact my pc meets the spec. Is anyone also experiencing such or is it just me and is there any solution to this??

i got lucky with the exchange rate then about 180-200 and I got my mid range gaming pc, Gtx960-4GBVram, i5-4690K and 16gig ram. with this current exchange rate, na to sort out the exchange rate anyhow.lol

That's one decent rig right there...na to jinga the right people to have these mid range options available...I'm currently building a rig with the FX8350 and AMD HD5870 (unlocked the BIOS and OC'd the b**** to the high heavens) and I play most titles on medium to high setting 1080P...that's a 2010 GPU.

This is the best news I've heard today. 2x RX480 performed better than a GTX1080 (according to Raja) that is less than $400 will outperform a card worth $600...even gets better. The 1080 is meant to be faster than the 1070 which means for $20 more you can outperform the 1070 using 2x RX480....AMD have got Nvidia by the b4lls

I know, price/perf increases going dual GPU but c'mon it'll still use around 300W, the power requirement for one R9 390X.


edit: The 480's used were the 8GB models which cost $460 for the pair NOT less than $400

from a feature point of view nvidia pascal is bubbling with tons of features..apart from the crazy fast perf. you have ansel which too me is one of the best tech available . it just simply great. then for professional use cuda is still widely used in many professional rendering applications.plus nvidia's amazing streaming tech thanks to the inbuilt hardware decoder ..i believe amd vega would easily match it but the main issue is the timing.amd shouldn't delay too much, if not the gtx 970 debacle would repeat itself .that card was the sweet spot for price/perf , amd 390 came 1 year late and it enabled nvidia sweep tons of revenue and marketshare..

Completely agree with that. AMD shouldn't leave releasing Vega too late although I suspect if a 1080Ti is being released, knowing Nvidia, they'll release it around that time too, potentially holding the crown of fastest single GPU.

yep but for me it depends on the launch time of vega. pascal non - ref cards would come with better power management and better cooling , so that is no issue at all. for vega i hope amd launches it by winter this year , waiting for a spring launch is quite far for me, but i will wait and see what amd is up to before i pull the trigger for an upgrade.

My interest is in new features though. Not playing at 4K means I really don't need a monster of a card. Heck, I'm building another PC for video editing and threw in a HD5870 Eyefinity Edition as it supports multiple screen support and it manages to lock 60FPS 1080p medium settings.

I've seen Pascal's features i.e Vulkan support(really looking forward to its widespread adoption), Multi-projection etc and it's exciting.

I'm less keen as I did on how many FPS one can get these days.

Yeah, I've been following the new king. Nvidia have pulled one of their stunts again. At the press they showed the Founders Edition running at 67 deg C. On release, it thermal throttled at 82 deg C on an open test bench (out of the box)..lol...increasing power/temp limit helped maintain it's stated boost clock but that thing ran at 87 deg C..partner cards will defo perform better....but I'll be skipping this generation and wait to see what happens around when Vega launches.
