At times I wonder if you all are more invested in acquiring upgraded PC components than actually gaming.

Cos it's always PC this, GPU that! And next generation processing ish!

Infact you all are different from regular laptop gamers.

Perhaps the laptop gamers should have a niche of their own.

Currently playing NFS: The Run. The only NFS i've really enjoyed.
Anyways, quick question: If i want to drift round a corner, do i hold down the handbrake all through the drift, or do i just tap it to initiate the drift??
Logic here tells me to tap it but i'm not so sure...

Yup, steer, tap handbrake and get back on throttle immediately...if the car is insanely setup for drift, even steering can get it into a drift or steer and light tap of normal brakes.

Just checked up NFS:The run on origin and it's £2.87..even Hot pursuit (one of the best of the series) which is older is more expensive @ £4.31..wow!

I used to record my lap times in the AMG Black Series.(NFS:HP) that's how sad I was

No one will have a GX800 on their lap when gaming with a liquid cooling station attached,so I'd prefer a desktop.. For a laptop though, with 2x desktop 980's, that's some serious hardware. For the money I'll build 2 gaming PC's have one at work and one at home....portability issue solved

It's possible it will run faster because when you do a clean install it will get rid of unnecessary applications running in the background. That's why I wanted you to send me a screen shot of the startup tab I task manager. It's possible to improve the performance before doing a clean install.

Before doing a clean install backup important files to an external drive or USB. My laptop only has 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD and its enough for Windows 10.

From Microsoft website, it's free to upgrade to 10.

It wasn't long they released the GX700 with a liquid cooling station that acts like a rock too. Now the GX800. Who buys these?

From their website it has "an uprated power supply system courtesy of two 330W adapters"...so not only am I carrying this brick around I have to think about 2 adapters plus the liquid cooling station (if I was to harness all its power)?

It's down to preference. I prefer Win10. It's free to upgrade to Win10 from Win 8.1 so why not. You can revert back easily if you don't like it.

Go into Startup tab in Task Manager. Use the snip tool to take a screenshot of it what is displayed under STARTUP and post online..

I'm usually on Project Cars, MKX. My stint with MW3 was on the Xbox360 when I had it.

The only games I have played for more than a few hours online are Dead Space 3 and Splinter Blacklist. They held my attention cos I played it with a friend. I have tried left 4 dead 2, COD MW3, Far Cry 3 multiplayer and warframe and gave up on them fairly quickly. Warframe in particular was just grind grind grind.

Only title you listed that Ive played online is CODMW3 and I got addicted once I knew the maps very well. I was getting killed to the point of frustration when I started and I think it's same with competitive play...what platform do you play on? PC or console?

Well I have know of those games, I am just curious to which ones you guys play and like, cos to be honest I am not a fan of multiplayer. They are usually plagued with toxic players, uneven match making, discord from attempted co-op with strangers and repetitive gameplay

Valid reasons not to go online, but when you play with a group of friends or forge relationships with other online players, you mitigate all of them.
What titles do you play with online MP?

MSVCR stands for MS = Microsoft, V = Visual, C = C++, R = Redistributable so it will be in one of those links I sent earlier. What version of MK are you trying to install. Is it an original disk or a download? AFAIK, the non-legit MKX required a fix.

1. Try re-instaling the game.Does it give you an option to install and MSVCR files?
2. Re-install the download from the first link...the 2012 update 4.

AFAIK, the components that you are interested aren't readily available in Nigeria. Are you looking to import? If so then the 80K budget is really low for what you are after. You'd be looking close to 100k+..

The new AMD RX470 is aimed at 1080p gaming so should be enough for your needs.

Rather than dig claws into skin and take a stab at each other, why not ask Adelana1 why he included Alienware in the 'stay away' list? I'm sure he has got his reasons or perhaps it was an oversight.

Well, the benchmarks are out on youtube and it does indeed outperform both the titan x and 980ti, so it's not an Nvidia stunt.

The stunt was in the 67 C when clocked at 2GHz+...that was just a big fat lie. Moving from 28nm to 16nm Finfet, there was no doubt it'd be faster than the 980TI/Titan X.

Download and install the Intel HD update utility. It should search for the latest drivers for you. If that doesn't work..let me know what the CPU specs. http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

As for the Windows 10, if you have the key, you can get the ISO file from Microsoft directly (use the download tool, scroll down the page)...it's free to upgrade to windows 10 if you have Windows 7 or 8.1 https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Did you buy the key or disc/USB. If you can give more info about the error message it's how the community can help you best.

My recommendation is build if you are willing to spend $1400 on a Dell PC

This build will run Witcher 3 - Max settings....and cost less to build...it'll outperform the Dell PC and includes a monitor & keyboard.... I'm not really a fan of laptop gaming...it doesn't sit on your lap while one's playing games lol ..Buy a cheap and light laptop for moving around, if it gets damaged in transit it won't be as bad as a $1000 loss and have your main rig at home/work, just a suggestion.

Yea these manufacturers are expensive for the components they use. The GTX 960 used in that build will get you an average of 31FPS - Witcher 3 (Ultra, No Hairworks). What's the shipping to Nigeria going to cost you?
