Despite being released from the home based Super Eagles camp to sign for Manchester City in England, it has been revealed to us that Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to sign with the former English champions. Reason because Manchester City says they won't pay him until January 2015. And that's a big shock, according to the MVP of U-17 World Cup 2013 Father. Kennedy Ezenwere, Kelechi Iheanacho's mentor and coach at the Taye Academy he played for in Owerri, Imo state, revealed that Kelechi is presently in Lagos, and has decided to move to FC Porto in Portugal, rather than Manchester City. “Kelechi has not signed for City; he’s presently in Lagos and has now changed his mind saying he wants to move to FC Porto instead” “I really don’t know the terms of the agreement but I wish him well because his father says he wants him to go to Manchester City but Kelechi is saying that city is too big for him” he told brilafm Iheanacho was voted as the MVP at the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates where he helped Nigeria to clinch her fourth U17 title. Uganda has last week signed a bill that further bans homosexuality. According to CNN, a man was even burned to death for being gay shortly. The bill's original 2009 version, named "Kill The Gays," went as far as calling for the death penalty for certain homosexual acts; that provision was shelved following international furore. Under its latest iteration, anyone who conducts marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples faces seven years behind bars. Failure to report homosexual activity to police is also criminalized. Doctors who treat gays, landlords who rent them property and those suspected of being LBGTQ are subject to five-year prison terms under the bill. Anyone who offers support to homosexuals will also be committing a criminal offense, which can reportedly extend to counseling. Though homosexuality has already been illegal in the Southeast African nation, some argued this bill needed to be passed to safeguard against Western values. Warning! Graphic Violence: viewer discretion is advised. Many LBGTQs and supporters in the nation and worldwide decried the bill's passage. "The witch hunt had already started, and now it has been legitimized by the parliament of Uganda, which is very scary," said Clare Byarugaba, who coordinates the Ugandan Civil Society Coalition on Human Rights and Constitutional Law, a gay rights group. "We don't know how brutal the police will be now that the bill has passed. With this legitimization, it's going to get worse." President Yoweri Museveni has to sign the bill within 30 days to make it official. Didn't they go too far to kill this man because he was gay? Couldn't they have jailed him instead? What is your thought about this act? See photo here : http://www.akeemstunnabaiby..co.uk/2013/12/ugandan-gay-man-burned-alive-days-after.html?m=1 |
Renowned gospel act and Glo Ambassador, Sammie Okposo has renounced his membership of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), due to what he says is the lack of transparency and accountability on the part of the CMO. This is coming barely two weeks after he carpeted NBC for its failure to reach an agreement with COSON while also calling for transparency at the CMO. In the statement made available to the media, the multiple award winning artiste who has been an avid member of the CMO since inception declared that COSON should desist from collecting royalties and acting on his behalf with immediate effect. “I, Sammie Okposo, a proud Nigerian artiste wishes to notify the general public and all stakeholders alike that I have stopped being a member of COSON.” Reiterating his earlier statements, Okposo insisted that for COSON to be taken seriously, the need for transparency and accountability could not be overemphasized. “The registration of COSON is commendable and may have set the Industry on the path to growth and consolidation but accountability and transparency is very important. My facts reveal that there is nothing in COSON’s constitution that limits the number of terms the Chairman of the Board could serve and this is extremely dangerous. I read Onyeka Onwenu’s interview and she cited it as one of the reasons she left the board of COSON. All effort must be made to ensure COSON does not end up the property of one man. COSON is now delving into awards and competitive activities that are not related to its core responsibilities and this is a distraction”. Advancing reason why he chose to part ways with the CMO, the singer said “The leadership of COSON must also desist from pursuing selfish interests of some of its members and our artistes must get their due respect and recognition. The organization needs to imbibe the art of transparency in the disbursement of funds. How do you disburse royalty payments without showing the artistes the logs? It’s unacceptable. This issue must also be looked into with a view to ensuring that monies collected actually go to deserving artistes”. Okposo finally called on government to beam its search lights on the activities of peculiar organizations like COSON through the enactment and implementation of laws and oversight function. He also called for the registration of another CMO with a view to breaking the monopoly currently being enjoyed by COSON.

Crime Reports learnt that the victim, a 13-year-old Primary 3 pupil, was brought to her guardian by her teacher who noticed her dirty uniform after she suddenly disappeared from class. When examined, semen was said to have been found in the girl’s private part. When probed, the girl confessed that some men had been having sex with her. She revealed that five of them who were Hausa used to give her N20 each. Same went for Old Soldier and Ndubuisi. The guardian, who spoke with Crime Reports said that when she was first informed that her niece had sex with several men when she was sent to fetch water, she did not take it serious, until her teacher brought her home. One of the suspects, Ndubuisi however denied involvement, saying that he only heard that Old Soldier used to made love with the girl, after which he would give her N20. “I don’t know why my name was mentioned, though I wrote in my statement that I had sex with her once ,with the belief that I would be released if I said so,” Ndubuisi said. Pa Abiola a.k.a. Old Soldier also denied having sex with the teenager, saying that she was his granddaughter’s age. When asked why the girl pointed at him among all the men in the area, in addition to what Ndubuisi said transpired some days before his arrest, the man said he could not understand. Others also denied the girl’s claim, saying that she was just mentioning the names of any man she saw on the day the police came to the area. |
By sheer chance, she had fallen asleep wearing her glasses. Slowed by the spectacles' frame, the slug lodged itself in the bridge of her nose, wounding Bryant but sparing her young life. "I could have been dead. I'm glad that the glasses saved me," the teen told KOMO. "I fell asleep with my glasses on, and the glasses saved where the bullet was." KIRO said shooting suspects drove by the house twice, spraying it with bullets each time. Police said Bryant was not the intended target. Police believe the shooting was gang-related and allege that someone who resides in the home has a gang affiliation. Bryant and her mother, LaVette Bryant however denied that anyone in the family is involved with a gang, although her mother told KOMO that a recent visitor might be connected to one. Although they are angered and outraged by the shooting, they are also thankful for what neighbors have called a "Christmas miracle." "It's amazing. It's God sent. If it weren't for God she wouldn't be here," her mother told KOMO. Doctors are battling to save the eyes of a banker in Ile Ife, Osun State, Mr. Tope Akinlabi, and his wife, Mulikat, who were bathed with acid by some yet-to-be-identified people. It was learnt that Tope and his wife were returning home on foot after the close of work on Monday, December 16, when two men riding on a motorcycle met up with them and emptied the content of a jerry can on them. Tope was said to have gone to his wife’s shop at the Eleyele area of Ile Ife after he closed from work on the fateful day. The attackers met up with them while the two of them were going home on foot around 7pm when the incident happened. It was learnt that while the husband’s face was badly affected, the burns on the wife’s face was less severe due to the Hijab she was said to have put on. It was gathered that the screams of the couple attracted passersby to the scene of the incident. They were said to have chased the attackers and caught them and one of them pleaded that they had been sent.. The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mrs. Dorothy Gimba, when contacted on the telephone, said she had not been briefed about the case. She said, “I was involved in another assignment. But I will find out and I can assure you that we will surely investigate and make sure that justice is done in the case. Husband and wife attacked with acid? That is terrible.”punch

The EFCC Monday swooped on the Kano State House of Assembly and detained the Speaker of the House, Alh. Gambo Sallau, alongside principal officers in what the state government has described as a political assault on the state government following the mass defection of the State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Kwakwanso alongside several other key politicians in government positions to the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Arrested alongside the Speaker are the Deputy Speaker, Isyaku Ali Danja, the Chief Whip, Deputy Chief Whip, Majority Leader, Deputy Majority Leader, Minority Leader, Deputy Minority Leader, Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Chairman House Committee on Finance and Clerk of the House. Continue... A statement by the Government of Kano State said it noted with utter disappointment and surprise, the arrest of the officials. The statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations to the state governor, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, stated that the public officials were apparently arrested in connection with the budget amendment of 2013 of the State Government, which has already been signed into law by the state governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso. The statement added that the Speaker and his colleagues have only exercised their constitutional responsibilities of ensuring that budgets are properly articulated, to ensure probity and accountability in public expenditure, so that in the end, the citizens enjoy dividends of democracy. “It is Chrystal clear that the above mentioned public officials were arrested by the EFCC on the orders from the above, because of the legislators’ defection to APC, in support of Governor Kwankwaso,” the government said, adding that “This action is obviously to intimidate and cow them into submission for choosing to move to the progressive fold. This action is not only despicable and absurd but also capable of igniting crisis in the polity, thereby breaching the relative peace that is being enjoyed in Kano state. It is regrettable that the EFCC is allowing itself to be a tool of witch-hunt in the hands of powers that be.” THEWILL contacted the EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwajaren, to seek further information on why the officials were detained and the allegation of witch-hunt, he urged us to email our questions for a formal response. Mr. Uwajaren’s had not responded to our questions as at the time of filing this report. PHOTO : http://www.akeemstunnabaiby..co.uk/2013/12/efcc-arrests-speaker-of-kano-house-of.html?m=1 |

Her name is Queen Okafor and she resides in Lagos. Before now little or nothing was heard of Queen. But Queen decided to speak to a National Newspaper, not to ask Nigerians for help, but alert NGO’s to come to the aid of people with rare disabilities as hers. According to Queen, people look at her embarrassingly whenever she steps out. She said she lived a normal live until she was 21 when hair started growing all over her body. According to Queen who is now 26, she inherited this from her mother. Once you get to 21 to 23 years in my family, you start experiencing hair growth, she said. I want people to treat me like a normal human being and I will also love to appear in movies, Queen said. She also said she is in a relationship at the moment, and believes she will get married and have kids at the right time. In her interview, the dark complexioned Queen shocked the reporter with her revelation on how homosexuals plead to take her to bed. She also explained why she pierced her nose. Charles Okafor can be recalled to be one of the veteran actors in the Nollywood film industry, he has featured in movies that got Nollywood where it is today, before he wasn't seen on the line again, people wondered Why Renowned Entertainer, Charles Okafor, Changed His Attitude towards Acting, but Charles Okafor has let the cat out of the bag as he said in a recent interview that he has been off the acting scene because he found Christ. Read Charles Okafor’s statement below: Quote “I've been lying low for a while because I diverted into Advocacy and human-angle films as a consequence of my new found faith. I’m still a career actor and a film maker but I am mindful of the scripts I do. A time come in the life of any professional when he seats back and takes stock of his professional issues and the legacy he wants to leave behind from the spiritual standpoint of view. You cannot just do any kind of film anymore if you’re going to be the light to the nations of the world. We must be seen in the context of the things that glorify God in totality. I’m driven to do advocacy films because they address social issues, human angle and spiritual issues that borders on the kingdom. That explains why I might not be as visible as I was some years back. You see, you cannot eat your cake and still have it. You cannot serve God and serve Marmon. You must clearly define where you stand. I have put my hands to the plow so I shouldn't look back but that does not remove the fact that I’m still a career actor and film maker.” http://www.akeemstunnabaiby..co.uk/2013/12/actor-charles-okafor-dumps-acting-and.html?m=1 |
