How do I love myself?

Here is the “surprise” from yesterday’s lesson: The reference point for loving others is to love—get ready—yourself!

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But it’s not easy.

Some confuse loving themselves with a chocolate binge or a designer watch they can’t afford, just to feel good! But rewards from self-indulgence can be fleeting. Some have difficulty loving themselves because of intense feelings of inferiority: “I’ll never be like her!” “I can never measure up!” They compare themselves with others, a practice called “unwise” by the Apostle Paul (see 2 Corinthians 10:12).

Still others disparage themselves because of serious mistakes they have made, or sins that have held them captive. They’ve yet to discover God’s remedy, that He graciously releases us from the burdens of the past when we ask for and receive His forgiveness.

The key to loving yourself is to see yourself as Jesus sees you. You are of infinite worth to Him, precious in His sight, the object of His great love, filled with His Spirit, part of His body of believers, commissioned to fulfill the unique design He has for you. Take a moment to ponder the amazing creation you are in Christ!

As one who is intensely loved by God—unshackled from a poor self-image and baggage from the past—you can love yourself and then “love your neighbor as yourself.”

Online report obtained via VANGUARD NIGERIA
stated that anxiety is mounting over the sudden
disappearance of the General Overseer of Christ
Worshippers Church with headquarters at Osubi,
Effurun, Warri, Delta State Prophet Duromola Adedayo
Samuel.

One source said Prophet Duromola might have met his
death in a ghastly auto crash that occurred, yesterday,
between 6.00 p.m and 8.00 p.m. along Akure-Ilesa
expressway.
But another source said he might also have been a
victim of kidnap.

A source in Ikeji Arakeji area where the crash occurred
disclosed that after the crash and the vehicle veered
into the bush, they tried to give a helping hand but did
not meet anybody inside the vehicle with the number
plate already removed.

Osun State police command spokesperson, Mrs
Folasade Odoro, said there was no official report to that
effect while family members from Owo, Ondo State
claimed that they had gone to various hospitals in
Owena, Ikeji-Arakeji, Ipetu-Ijesa, Ilesa as his
whereabout was still unknown at press time.
According to the family members on search party, the
vehicle was found but the prophet was not found,
adding that no blood stain or anything curious was
noticed at the scene of the accident.
Elder Boro, a member of the Board of Trustees of the
church in a telephone interview said Prophet Samuel
phone rang throughout the night without response.

He added that may be he was praying on the mountain
in Ilesa.

This was corroborated by Pastor Paul Opoweh, the
Prophet’s personal assistant, who said efforts to reach
him on phone proved abortive.

When the wife, Prophetess Eseoghene Blessing
Duromola was contacted, she said Prophet Sanuel
went to a mountain at Ilesa, with a promise to return to
Akure to pick her and the children to Warri for the end
of the year vigil but that did not happen.

A 27-man gang on Friday abducted a pastor, Mr.
Godson Akubiro, and six of his children from their
Adeosun Street residence, Koya Estate, Igbo Olomu,
Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Akubiro is said to be the founder of Mountain of
Breakthrough Church in the area. The incident was
said to have occurred about 1.30am.

Neighbours, who requested anonymity, toldPUNCH
Metro that the gunmen arrived at Akubiro residence in
three jeeps and a Toyota Tundra vehicle. The number
plates of the vehicles were said to have been covered.
The gunmen, who wore army camouflage, had
allegedly gained entrance into the house with the aid
of an iron cutter.

It was learnt that since the abduction, no one had
heard from Akubiro and his six children.
The Community Developmen Association Chairman,
Mr. Yinka Obasan, said he was alerted about the
development about 2am.

“I got a call that night from a resident who was coming
from a vigil. He told me that he noticed some military
vehicles parked outside Akubiro’s home. He said the
vehicles belonged to a high ranking military official
because the insignia was covered.

“I told the man to wait for me and together we went to
Akubiro’s home. When we got there, I greeted the men
I met outside and introduced myself as the CDA
chairman. I asked them if there was a problem. Instead
of answering me, they turned on my companion and
accused him of alerting me.

“After berating both of us for not minding our business,
they forced us to sit on the ground and seized our
phones. There was another resident sitting on the
ground; they had detained him since 12am when they
arrived. Then they started beating us.”
It was learnt that inside the Akubiro residence six of
Akubiro’s children were in the sitting room watching a
movie, when the men, said to be dressed in dark
googles, black jeans and heavy bullet proof vests
entered.

PUNCH Metro gathered that they told the terrified
children that they were policemen and proceeded to
drag their father, who was sleeping, from his bedroom
into the sitting room. The six children, whose ages
ranged between 30 and eight years, were beaten up.
One of them, an eight-year-old named Emeka, was
allegedly tied to a tree in the compound. No reason
was allegedly given by the gunmen for their actions.
Another 18-year-old boy named Obiora was said to
have been tortured with a taser. Akubiro’s wife, Rita,
was said to be away on a trip to South Africa at the
time.
It was learnt that the gunmen later took Akubiro away
along with Ada, his first daughter, Obiora, Oyinyenchi,
Felicia,, Nonso and Kingsley. Three person were
allegedly left behind – Emeka, Chidera and a baby.
Obasan said, “Around 2.45am, those who were inside
came out with Akubiro and his children. They said they
were going to the man’s church to burn it down –
Akubiro is the founder and head of the Mountain of
Breakthrough Church on Breakthrough Street in this
estate.
“They put their victims in their vehicles and zoomed off.

Before leaving, they threw our phones at us.”
PUNCH Metro gathered that immediately the gunmen
left, a report was lodged at the Owutu Police Division.
However, the DPO was said to have denied that the
gunmen were policemen.

PUNCH Metro learnt that since the incident, no one
had been able to establish contact with Akubiro and his
children. His wife Rita, who returned from South Africa
the following day, was said to have received no calls
concerning their whereabouts.

There was no response from the Lagos State Police
Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Braide as she did
not respond to calls and text message to her phone.

Hahahaha... U don't nid to memorize everytin naw... Some few words will do. And besides, don't wanna waste my life by Lecrae is a fast rap. So, if u not a fast rapper, don't go there. Again, u shud ve a mentor ok? Very important to get better.

Sure, am Akeem stunna, am a rapper, I used to have same probs but not anymore, due to my experience I will share some tips, but u can add me on bbm 27cc956b to give u more tips.

1st u need to learn to think fast. That is, b4 u drop the 1st line tink fast of the nxt line.

2ndly, it doesn't matter if u don't rhyme it. Rhyme doesn't matter when learning to freestyle.

3rdly... U nid to listen to song a lot so u cud get to borrow some of the. Lyrics when freestyling. I will share more tips just add me up. My facebook name is Akeem Stunna Rotimi.
