Hello, I applied for a T4 visa with my spouse and son as dependents 2 months ago. The bank statement needs to be in your name (principal applicant) If you were applying alone, you could have used your parent's statement but the guidance does not state if this is allowed for applicant's dependents so please use your account. To answer your questions 1. Your chances of getting the visa are very high if you get the 40 points required i.e have enough cash as required and in the manner stated by the T4 guidance have your CAS, also if you prove to be a genuine student during the interview. Whether or not you and your spouse bear the same surname is irrelevant, just show the marriage certificate you have. 2. The money should be in your account 3. The T4 guidance doesn't require you showing you have ties to your home country. Personally I only submitted my bank statement, pictures of my family and I, TB certificate, ATAS certificate (if required) and my CAS. But if you feel more comfortable submitting your house documents, you can. You can never have too many supporting documents. 4. Employment letter isn't needed. In summary, if the principal applicant receives his/her visa then your dependents should also be given theirs, except if they previously had some problem with UK immigrations or lie on their application. You should be fine, pls make allowance for fluctuation in exchange rate and make sure you have enough cash as stated in the T4 guidance to cover for your first year tuition and maintenance allowance. Your husband will most likely not be interviewed as only T4 applicants are interviewed. His travel history does not matter as this is a T4 dependent and not for a visitor's visa. You've done the T4 interview before so you know what to expect. I wish you the very best. Lozzysassy: |

My initial post was to see if anyone had applied on the same day as me and if they were having any delay in getting their passport back. So I have picked a uni, applied for CAS and applied for a tier 4 visa. I never said the school didn't respond. I said they were not helpful because they stated that uni policy prevents them from corresponding with UKVI regarding T4 visas made outside of the UK. It's great that your university was able to do all of that for you. Mine was not a case of not providing a service because they wanted to be tardy, it was a we don't provide this service due to uni policy. Policies change all the time and this was why I asked someone here what service did his school provide for him and what his school's name was so I could let my uni know. I hope you understand. You saying "Nigerians tolerate bad service" makes me feel like the uni is offering me such poor service (when in fact they don't offer the service) and being the Nigerian that I am, I tolerate it. They did respond to my enquiry. However, uni policy prevents them from corresponding with UKVI concerning student visa applied for outside of the UK. LaaJiblik: |

Thank you, yes. UKVI said that a decision has actually been made but the system has not been updated and my passport would be returned shortly. Irenenwaka: |

Hello Aphrodite007, I understand your concern, however it's unfair for you to respond with "Nigerians are good at tolerating bad customer service" in this situation. What would you have me do? Go to the UK without a visa and demand to speak with someone? Or reject my admission, scholarship and cancel my visa application? The most I can do is send emails and call. Aphrodite007: |

Thank you, pls what's the name of your uni? And could you tell me what your case was and how the int'l office helped. I'm asking because my uni's (BCU) int'l office hasn't been helpful, if I can mail them and let them know what type of service other universities are offering their int'l student, that may help. I've already requested that UKVI escalate the case. damoche64: |

Pls did anyone else do their biometrics for a tier 4 application on the 8th of May and has now received their passport? Mine has exceeded 15 working days (exclusive of all UK holidays) and it has not ticked the decision made section even though DX delivery sent me an email that my BRP has been delivered to my Uni. I called the UKVI customer care line and I was told that it also shows that decision has not been made. |

If you mean time of the year, that should be between October and May when there arent a lot of rush from tier 4 visa applicants looking to resume in September/October. Their office hours for testing is 7:30 till 11:30 so maybe try the earlier booking slots as you will not have to wait too long. Your TB test certificate is given to you on the same day and you will attach it to your application. deolutolu: |

Their immigration website states that online statements have to be stamped on all pages or a letter of authenticity provided. Is this not required for bank accounts domiciled in the UK? spikesC: |

Thanks to everyone that answered this question I posted. I contacted my bank in the UK and they stated that they will neither stamp the bank statements nor provide a letter of authenticity. I would have collected my ad hoc statement but I am in Nigeria now. Is there any suggestion on what else to do? akfaa: |

I recently completed my MSc in the UK in November 2017. I was offered a studentship at another university in the UK for my PhD and I am hoping to start on May. My husband and son are applying as dependants so we need to have maintenance money for them as the studentship does not cover this. The maintenance money is in my UK account which I opened while I was in the UK. My questions are these 1. Can I use this UK account? The account is in my name but my tier 4 visa expired in January 2. Can I print an online statement and request a letter of authenticity from the bank, this is allowed under the UKVI policy, but is there any one who has done this and was successful? 3. Can I submit a stamped statement from the bank (which will be a scanned copy) I am not very sure how to go about this. Pls I need your advice. Thank you. |
