If you could only read and assimilate, you would understand that my post actually suggests that I don't trust Atiku.

That's why I said "take his chances"

So let me repeat perhaps you would read a little slower and understand a bit better;;

Obi has only two options;;

1. Contest for President with Tinubu and Atiku, thereby giving Tinubu a very easy ride and then wait till 2039 to have a chance again.
(12 years from 2027).

2. Contest as Atiku's running mate with an agreement that he will be supported to run for President in 2031.

These are basically the two options he has; If you were Obi, which would you take?

Answer and stop doing cho cho cho.
I referred to your option 2 and not the whole statement. Obi's decisions is not my business.

Your got it all wrong. He is not paranoid about him. Far from it. He knows Obi too well as an unstable, unreliable political novive who cannot be trusted judging from his antecedents from his APGA days.

If Atiku does not pose any threat to Tinubu, is it Obi who has since lost a great deal of relevance that will ?
Already, PO has lost tremendous support from three factors so far.

1. The sympathy votes he got from the Yorubas who disliked Tinubu pre-2023 elections but who have turned their love back to Tinubu and hatred for Obi thanks to the latter's supporters' brash and uncouth behaviour after the elections
As a matter of fact, judging from the under-current mood in yorubaland, it may be suicidal for certain voters to venture out to vote in 2027.

2. Obi has also lost virtually all the sympathy votes he got from a large Christian audience and moderate Muslims across the SW, SS, NV NE and some NW areas in protest against the muslim-muslim ticket.

3
Almost all of his major non-Ibo die-hard supporters who risked their lives and livelihoods for Obi in 2023 have since deserted him having seen through his shenanigans, ethnic sentiments, lack of leadership skills and autocratic tendencies.
The finishing part; deputising Atiku whom his supporters saw has the Spoiler in 2023 election.

So tell me... What do you expect him to do?

If you were Obi what would you do?

Do "I no gree, I no gree" and contest..
Then split votes again with Atiku and let Tinubu have an easy run?
Then power returns to North in 2031?

Or take your chances with Atiku and get his support in return by 2031?
Remember I said "take your chances"

If you were Obi what would you do?

Oya post proof where Azikwe said no!

I'm not igbo but I'm playing along with you because an average Yoruba man like you doesn't know the difference between Igbos and other tribes in Nigeria! grin
Yes — based on historical accounts of Nigeria’s constitutional negotiations, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe did oppose the inclusion of a secession clause in Nigeria’s constitutional framework before independence. He argued that the future Nigerian federation should be “indivisible and perpetual,” and actively worked against proposals that would have allowed any region the constitutional right to secede.

Here’s the historical context:
At constitutional conferences in the 1950s leading up to Nigeria’s independence, several leaders debated whether the right to secede should be written into the country’s constitution.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo and others (including Anthony Enahoro) pushed for such a clause so that any region unhappy with the union could legally exit the federation.

Nnamdi Azikiwe, speaking for the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC), opposed this idea. He insisted that once Nigeria became a federation it should be “indivisible and perpetual,” and he argued against inserting a secession provision.

Because of this opposition, the constitutional debates at the time ended without a secession clause — and later Nigerian constitutions (including the 1960 Independence Constitution) reflected the idea that the federation was not legally divisible.

Azikiwe himself wrote and spoke later about this position, framing it as a defense of national unity rather than a legal option for regions to withdraw from the union.

So historically, **yes — Azikiwe is widely credited with opposing the inclusion of a secession clause in Nigeria’s constitution.**

Start from somewhere when they even fought the country for good 3 years because they want Biafra? So that your useless government can tag them terrorists? Let Tinubu announce on national TV that Biafra can go and see if there will any need for useless referendum!
I hope you read my previous comment that it was one of your elder that disallow the cessation clause to be added to our constitution. Even it was on record that Awolowo fought for cessation clause to be added but your Azikiwe said 'no', that we are one Nigeria. So when Ojukwu decided to go with the ibos in 1967, that act will be treated as a crime. You get it now? So put the blame on Azikiwe not Nigerian government.

Since Nigeria is not benefiting from the region, why not let them be? Is unity by force? grin
Yeah. They can call for referendum through their senators, house of rep members and state Governors. Nobody is tying them. This festive season, theh can all decide to go back to the east and not come back again. At least they should start from somewhere.

But you had to even imprisoned one of them because he wants his people free from Nigeria! I'm not igbo but Nigeria had to fight them for a whole 3 years just to keep them. grin No be juju be that?
As at the time ibos were leaving, it's in the constitution that there won't be cessation by any region and even that clause was championed by one of their elders. Azikiwe. Yorubas will say 'a town where there is now law, there won't be punishment there'.

The total generated must be equal to total distributed. It is common sense and common logic
You are absolutely correct. There will be a false result on the amount distributed if Lagos and Rivers aren't on the list. But the bone of contention is the amount generated even after removing Lagos from SW and Rivers from SS. Emphasis on the amount generated not amount distributed after the removal.
