Geez...120km/h and you are complaining that the driver is going too slow. How will he be able to control the car if something goes wrong. |
The only person that can tell you to or discredit the good ol US is someone who is not raised in Naija. I still believe in Naija but let tell ourselves the truth...no matter the socio-economic problem the USA is experiencing, the USA is 99 times better than Nigeria. Be sincere and google the average life expectancy of an average Nigerian. I keep hearing people i know dying in their 30s and you say that is normal. Before i arrived here, i suffered from malaria/typhoid almost every month...my body became a testing ground for all kinds of malaria drugs. I went to hospitals and different labs, still i could not control simple malarial. I have been here more than two years. Two years of malaria free life...no continuous head ache....my eyes is pure white...not yellow and some odd colors. I have dental appointed two times in year...and at least i visited the doctor two times a year for check up...i mean i have an appointment with the doctor and discuss my health needs. Do i need to talk about food or the 24/7 steady electricity...so i am a little confused whenever i came here and see all these negative comparison about American and Nigeria. The only good comparison is Nigeria and Ghana to be candid. Do you want to talk abut a government that does not value education....California State government pays for the tuition of all resident of California who are in college. The federal govt gives aid totally about 5500 dollars to encourage students. Do you wanna talk about equipment in the school for learning...you have free computer to do your work and research and free internet service. They school pays a tutor to help you on any subject you don't understand. So America is still good and if any of you have the opportunity to come over here.. |
I really appreciate your post because i have been in the USA for more than two years and can attest to your observation. Bullying is really a big deal and it causes lots of emotional and psychological problem to youths here. When i think about it, i just wondered because i met lots of bully during my school years. We see it as something normal-school life-and all you have to do is wait when you become a senior to start your bullying. But when i see the effect of bullying in US schools and how it is treated, i could not understand it. My question is, does it mean that American kids are weak than African kids, who welcome bullying as a normal thing and live through it? |
Why are you guys stressing yourselves on minimum wages....When you hear minimum wages...that does not mean that most Nigerians are living with minimum wages. Some are making 13-17 dollar per hour...some are doing other business in Nigeria while making the minimum wage. I have been here in California for two years and i can assure you that there are ways to survive better than the minimum wage. It depends on your planning and your status here. It is not always rossy here as many people are here without job...but still, they are living better than most guys who have so called jobs that you make 18000 naira every month. Why you guys struggle to live 60 years in Naija...people here can live up to 100 years. So we make the mistake of thinking about money...money and money in Naija but do not care about the quality of live. How time do you guys undertake regular doctor visit in a year...you only see a doctor when malaria and typhoid don't kill you finish. How many of you have a regular dental visit every year...Do you know the risk you run by not figuring your dental health....the list goes on and on...that i won't want to go on to shed the miserable life that you guys are living in Naija and are proud of it. so don't just think about the money we are making here but think about the underlying benefits of living here. No matter how bad...the truth is still...we are better off here than in Nigeria. |
