Any update on ND PT/HND FT for mobilization instead of exemption letter. Please anybody with valid information. Thanks. Also, is it possible for someone that have received Exemption Letter to be remobilized based on ND PT/HND FT. Thanks |
Good day house. Please can somebody be of help or on what to do. I registered for my NYSC mobilization last month when the NYSC opened their portal for just three days, but surprisingly after my registration, I saw a message of exemption letter instead of mobilization number. After my consultation with some of my guys, I was told that it is because of my ND which is P.T and my HND is a full time program. But before my registration, it was stated that I can serve because some of my colleagues that passed through the same route are in service and my age is fall under 30 before graduating. Please what can I do because I dont want this exclusion letter that is why I waited for this year since 2024 that I graduated. I will be glad if I can see anybody that can help me out with this. Thank you. |

Pls any update concerning those married woman that changed their name to their husband name in NIN, I hope they are allowed to register. |
The first answer to your question is that nobody can advice you on what to do, you are matured enough to know what to do concerning your life. The second answer is that the certificate you want to boycott now, maybe the ladder of success in your journey of life but if luckily you get the exemption letter congrats to you. The third answer to your question is even if there are companies or parastatal that accept graduates without NYSC certificate, you will still find yourself at prayer ground with 100 days fasting when the need to present the certificate arise for one promotion or the othes. Don't let anybody deceice you that NYSC is a waste of time. Ask those who have experience the bitterness of not having NYSC CERTIFICATE and also not have the privilege of getting EXEMPTION LETTER faced in the labour market except you are Son or Daughter of big men in the society. It's alarming to see many married women facing unnecessary hurdles during NYSC registration due to name changes. They're forced to spend extra money changing their names back to their maiden names on their National Identification Number (NIN). This issue demands attention and advocacy. The NYSC should simplify the registration process, allowing married women to register without the additional expense and hassle of changing their names on their NIN. It's time for a solution!" |

IBRAHIM ALARAPE LASISI 377A, OMOFADE CRESCENT OMOLE PHASE 1, OJODU BERGER LAGOS. 09057667770 27TH MARCH, 2025. Director-General National Youth Service Corps NYSC National Directorate Headquarters Plot 416, Tigris Crescent Maitama, Abuja. Dear Director-General, Re: Request for Consideration of Married Women's Name Change on NYSC Portal I am writing to respectfully bring to your attention a pressing concern affecting many married women who have undergone the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program and those who want to start new registration. As you may be aware, the NYSC scheme requires corps members to register with their National Identity Number (NIN), which often reflects their maiden name (father's name) before marriage. However, after marriage, many women choose to change their Surname to their Husband's Name, as is customary in many Nigerian cultures. Unfortunately, when these women attempt to update their information on the NYSC portal during the Registration, they are often asked to revert to their Maiden Name, (Father’s name) which can be inconvenient and even embarrassing. This issue arises because the NYSC portal is currently designed to synchronize with the NIN database, which may not reflect the married woman's new (Surname). As a result, many married women are forced to use their maiden name (Father’s name) on the NYSC portal, even if they have officially changed their name on other government-issued documents, such as their Passport, Driver's license, BVN or Voter's card. In light of this challenge, I respectfully request that the NYSC consider providing a separate portal or an alternative solution for married women who have changed their name to their Husband’s Name. This would enable them to update their information on the NYSC Portal without having to revert to their Maiden Name (Father’s name). Some possible solutions could include: 1. Creating a separate portal for married women to update their information, which would allow them to use their Married Name. 2. Providing an option for corps members to upload supporting documents, such as a marriage certificate or a court affidavit, to verify their name change for smooth registration. 3. Collaborating with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to update the NIN database to reflect married women's new Surnames. By implementing one of these solutions, the NYSC can demonstrate its commitment to supporting the needs of all corps members, including married women who have undergone a name change. Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours sincerely, IBRAHIM ALARAPE LASISI Copied:- National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.
