to be honest I’m confused if travel exemption is also travel Authorization and if they’re both applied online or via a webform. My spouse is a September intake student and hasn’t traveled because we recently had a baby. I checked @adwal2020 ‘s post. That’s why I asked to explain to me how it works if it’s for both visitor visa and SOWP. Because I read travel Authorization is applied after visa as been approved. I’m sorry I’m not very good at this terms. Thank you.

The Visa offices are working with reduced staff, so most applications are abandoned. The officers only treat applications that are deemed to be urgent.
In this case, one needs to request an exemption for the VO to work on their application provided IRCC approves the request.
Thanks.
Please how do I apply for exemption for my husband. I’m a bit confused about travel exemption. Please thanks.

Exactly what I was told by my school(Royal roads University) my fees wont be refunded if i start online and get rejected.(My tuition has being paid in full)
I was also adviced to defer my admission just to be on the safe side which I think is the best decision at this point.

Besides IRCC has clearly stated that the first stage approval does not guarantee a second stage study approval.

I rejoice with everyone who has gotten an AIP and hopefully, study permits will be issued to all!
Yes i believe everyone should liaise with their institution.

Applicants should be more concerned about the second stage as there are higher chances that the visa officer at the High Commission of Canada may likely reject the application if the applicant hasn't demonstrated that they are a bonafide student to undertake the proposed program in Canada. Be properly enlightened that it is at the second stage, the Visa officer will assess the overall credibility and reasonableness of the applicant's intended program in Canada, whether or not is in tandem with their previous studies, current employment or career path/future goals. More importantly, however, the biometrics enrollment details will be used to run a background check on the applicant by the CBSA in an effort to ascertain the applicant's criminality and security status. Kindly note that it is at this second stage the Visa officer will review the entirety of the application and make a final decision. Please be advised that commencement of online classes doesn't influence the discretion of the visa officer or guarantee an applicant's application success. A visa officer can still refuse the application if the applicant doesn't meet the IRCC Act requirements for study permit issuance.
I congratulate everyone who have gotten their AIP, liaise with your college or Uni…if you start online classes what are the terms and conditions of your tuition if your study permit get rejected.

I also got my AIP for September intake. From my understanding almost all students applying for the September intake are getting approved for the first approval. I applied to Fanshawe college, when i asked Fanshawe International representative here in Singapore about further information about the new policy, they told me the 2nd approval is at the discretions of the immigration officer, and if i start online classes and my visa is rejected my fees WILL NOT be refunded and starting online classes doesn't guarantee the approval of my study permit. For me who have paid full tuition fee i was advised to defer to January.

I believe this policy is to benefit the Canadian govt and not student. Approvals don’t come this easy, i know some Asians who got AIP in a matter of days.

Try to get the Yellow fever certificate just in case you are asked at the point of entry

Make sure your passport validity exceeds the validity of your stay in Nigeria

Have the contact details of the person you are coming to visit with you just in case you need to verify some information with him

Good luck

Hi house, i want to apply for a college/ university for a friend of mine to come over to Malaysia for Masters in March/April intake. I was told some colleges/ university are not recognized in the Malaysian embassy in Nigeria. I choose to apply for Limkokwing University Malaysia, FTMS College, Masha University. Are this institution recognized at the Malaysian embassy in Nigeria even after given a VAL.
