Left ph finally moved to the project site at Sagamu. I now work with the major contractor, Got this link where I worked as a guard for good 7months. I appreciate everyone who made this happen! The pay isn't huge but it's far better than what i earned as a guard, working conditions are also very much better, I also get to work in my field of study. |
All thanks to God! Never despise your days of little and humble beginnings above all never give up |
Look down on no one because no condition is permanent. From a Halogen Security guard to a Health and Safety officer. |
fellow ladies and gentle men. Kindly visit B vita construction office in lagos/visit the new ongoing 100acres brewery construction project site in sagamu and see if you can apply for jobs. They are recruiting in thousands this time around. |
today was a great day worked @ the main gate...no sunshine, it was cool through out. Saw few candidates who came in for interview @ pabod breweries today...i was shocked and surprised.. I never had any info that resumes were submitted, thus i approached one of the guys that came to interview for the post of a quality control specialist, he said he applied online. Wished him goodluck. |
yesterday sunday.... I met the head Engr. Of hurlag technologies @ work, we discuss briefly and he finally gave me his correct phone line digits. He said he still does have me in mind. |
met the female Emtech HR yesterday and we discussed she said we should keep checking back if anything suitable comes up she would fix us up...the job available was unsuitable. I also met the project manager mr fernardo fortunately he his a good friend of mr christopher duncan the former GM of Le'meridien hotels here in ph...but Chris left nigeria in august, he relocated back to cape town. He said he has had enough of 9ja. Told Fernardo,we would see later. Tried the hurlag engineer contact yesterday and i discovered i got the digits wrong...i would have to meet him again. |
So the following day i was also on morning shift which was saturday, so when i got to work i was posted to the arena where this same man office was located as i have earlier discussed with a lady who works as his staff for job due to the ongoing plant expansion @ the brewery here she then said its only labors that they need for now though the pay is huge compared to what i earn(20k). And while we were talking the boss called her to bring an helmet and reflective vest to the gate for him to get into the premises which she did. So i waited for the man and we had a brief discussion with him on my need for a job and explained reasons why i said no yesterday He said he perfectly understood, he gave me his card that i should give him a call. Then on sunday i gave him a call he asked of my qualifications and said i should seal my cv in an envelope and drop it with a guy @ his office which i did on monday morning. Then i told him if i could get a job no matter how small in there ongoing project here...this was on monday morning when i saw him...he now said i shouldn't worry but relax that he wants to employ me in their upcoming project in O... State coming up feb 2017, that they have less than a month here in ph to round up this one. One of his worker with the lady i met said am so lucky that the man is offering me a job all by himself ,a ceo/md @ that. ... they even get contracts and work in other african countries. |
for the oil and gas guys there is no harm in forwarding your resume to Hayewoh@slb.com her name is Henrietta Ayewoh. Note: i got her email from a paper document i saw on the floor, so i am taking advantage of it. I have never met her neither do i know her but for sure she is part of the HR team @ slb. |
God answereth prayers... |
how i met the Md of .... Firm. sometimes lastweek i talked with my pastor on the situation of things and all, that i need a change. He called me on thursday morning prayed for me on phone and the following day @ work i was posted to the pedestrian gate to carry out that days duty...then a very humble man approached me during the afternoon break time, he said what sort of lunch would i prefer he bought for me i just smiled and said nothing on his way back he said i turned down his offer to buy me lunch and asked what time would i be relieved from that days morning shift....which i said 5:30pm he said he would see me i said okay. Then on his way out in the evening unfortunately my oga @ the office was there when this man was leaving the brewery premises so he asked if i would want to work for his company....i smiled and said no due to my boss presence because 3 of our security operatives were fired that day i didnt want to be the 4th, the man smiled asked for permission from my boss if he can give us money for malt. Which he gave us 1k which i splitted equally with the other guy we whom we worked together @ the gate and then he left. To be continued |
day was so stressful coz i was posted to the main gate today. Met a guy @ emtech he gave me links on whom to see... There are two upcoming projects for Emtech....one in O... State (longterm) ..i am to meet a lebanese guy named Mus...... another in cocacola(1 year) here in ph..i am to see the HR lady with a big arse as they use to describe her she is pretty though. I also a top oyinbo man @ talbot and talbot today..he said he doesn't give jobs. I just smiled and left. |
Udochee:tango yanky sir |
okay em... I met the Head engineer of Hurlag Technologies this morning, gave him my Cv and got his contact, funny enough an uncle of mine who we presently live together here in ph with the engineer are very good friends...when i mentioned his name, the engr. Was surprised. Work is good..no papa bravo victor signing out ..... |
Udochee:i salute sir thanks a lot for your prayers and encouragement. |
amicable09:Amen, your words are encouraging. |
amicable09:thank you ma'am you made my day. Am @ work presently, meet the head engineer of hurlag technologies this afternoon talked to him about recruiting me for the upcoming project as an HSE officer...he requested i drop my Cv tomorrow morning. Next in line is .... HR the project...some say its 3, some say its 4 others say its 5years. Anyone here in sagamu axis...dust your Cv and get ready to hit the ground running soon...would hint you when the time is ripe! |
@ amicable09...this all happened less than a month working as a guard..am so grateful to God. I want to start the job first before i testify on how i got the job here on NL. If you dont get out there you would never discover what you are capable of achieving. |
amicable09:in all honesty i am still one of the halogen guards @ pabod and in fact i got a bigger and better job offer with an engineering firm based in lagos via the md whose firm is one of the contractors of the expansion of pabod brewery plant project i would have even resumed now but they have less than a month to round up here, so i am to resume @ their next project site come feb 2017. Yes i submitted my Cv here already @ the HR department the same week i resumed work here but am not counting on it...dont wanna put all my eggs in one basket |
. |
On the career front there are nice developments as well... |
i thank God for his grace because being idle is dangerous and i guess my active participation in class was a contributing factor and my instructor (mr mfon nkan)@ the training academy was also helpful. Never despise your days of little beginnings. |
halogen security firm finally offered me a job today... It was indeed Gods grace and miracle as today was my 6th day of training @ their academy. I was deployed to Pabod brewery and as a graduate i intend to use this security operative job as a ladder via networking to get to work for Pabod brewery someday soon. I am to resume morning duty tomorrow, according to my findings the pay isnt huge less than 24k but its better than sitting idle. |
Cutehector:would let you know bro. |
Cutehector:meet me lesukaa tomorrow evening....i owe you a bottle of Heineken |
realdrayne:please how did you pay for your application fees? |
the guy beside me in class today finished from uniport...he studied gas engineering, finished with 2.1 he was also posted here with me @ pabod he his trying to get his way in with krones a german firm.a white guy got his details already as they have an upcoming project...i was shocked but we are ready to start from the bottom. A new ray of hope i see..... More than 6 guards has gotten jobs with this coys we have B. Vita construction. Task Excel hurlag Emtech Krones...to mention but a few. We all are moving to a new location for a green field project come early next year. |
i even heard security guards works offshore also...ehn ehn well, i went this route because i noticed i get turned back or preached to when i go knocking on gate of companies here in ph... So i decided to become a guard via this route i can get a good job offer by showcasing my abilities and skills because all i need is just a chance...the little last job i did which i left because of relocation it was hard for my boss to let go. She had to call me back on my way out of her office, prayed for me gave me t.fare and paid me in full when i didnt do a full month job. She was shocked i could do a 15k job diligently and was shocked when she learnt i was a graduate. |
today was great, a guy beside me pushed me to go ahead and submit my file and i got there i was told by the lady to come back later which i did and when the lady received my file and saw my credentials....she was like you are learned? Which i answered in affirmative and she asked if i have an extra copy of my Cv in an envelope which i said yes... Then she said i should go get it and address it to the HR which i did and promised to submit on my behalf should any in house vacancy came up. |
