davo90tico: Roast chicken AND roastED chicken are correct. The usage in "roast" is as an adjective while the usage in "roastED" is as a verb in the past participle form. Although, the former is more commonly used in formal and informal speech, the latter is also correct. The time the business was established isn't in contention here. |

brexit: Mainly online That's not true! Where did you get your information from Also, I know a number of Nigerians who attended the university I attended. I worked with a few of them on certain assignments, publications etc and NONE of us sent anything "home" to be done for us. In my school (McGill), it is not a walk in the park as you presume it to be. It is applied learning, not largely theoretical as it is in Nigeria. The students you may know or have heard of who send/sent assignments home do not constitute the majority. Please, do not generalize. 1 Like |

Gben102: It could be true. Some states only received one slot for certain positions. I know this because I was able to see some States' allocations. Cross River State for instance only got 40 slots and positions like Auditor II had just one slot and Education Officer GL08 had eleven slots. CrossRiver only had total of 40 slots across 8 ministries. So, don't discount what he said. 1 Like |

Nooora: Not true. Whoever gave you that information (if you were given) lied to you. Except for some northern states still awaiting APLs, others have received and have started issuing to everyone on their lists. This is public info. Some people with queries have even gone to the commission and rectified their issues and are now awaiting signatures a second time around. While some applications have been deemed as containing forged documents/info so have been rejected unless rectified also. There is definitely something else taking place in the office of your informant that they do not want to tell you. |

DirtyGold: I appreciate your point but you are completely wrong in saying "That can only be possible if those "left in America" are there illegally and/or lack the credentials to work." I finished high school, A Levels in the UK with good results, and a first degree in Canada with a First Class and years of significant work experience gained while I was studying. However, I ended up as a customer service banking manager earning $2k/month which came up to little left in my bank account after paying monthly bills. I wanted more. I felt I deserved better. I was 22 at the time. I'm 37 now. I returned to Nigeria to work in the Federal Government. Initially, the compensation was little, yes. I have worked within various capacities within government and due to my field of work, I have worked on many international assignments with multilateral organizations like ECOWAS, UN etc. Doing so, we are paid several thousand dollars monthly by such bodies while still being paid our salaries and benefits by the Nigerian government. I don't pay for accommodation or many other bills while on assignment. So I end up saving a huge amount compared to being in Canada. As such, I have been able to purchase an apartment in Scarborough, near Toronto...WHILE WORKING IN NIGERIA. I would have bought an apartment while working in Canada but could I have gotten as good and many opportunities while in the fiercely competitive employment sector in Canada? Maybe...However, what is indisputable is that I got this in NIGERIA. I didn't want to work in a bank. I studied Economics and so my friends thought it was still applicable. But I wanted to work within the field of International Economics i.e development, Int trade etc. In Canada, even with a Master's degree it is very difficult to get into the UN. I'm à civil servant here but I didn't need to be corrupt to get these opportunities here. I have since gone on to get higher degrees and further develop myself because even though people like to think the civil service is full of ineptitude, there are a number of very competent and highly intelligent people within it. It may even surprise you to know that, while on assignment, I've met even people in the Nigerian Police Force on assignment also. My first encounter was in Haiti a few years ago. Not soldiers o...policemen. A couple of them let me know that they were sent to L'institut Français In Abuja to study french to A2 level before being sent to Haiti because they had no prior knowledge of French. They added that the Force sends officers to various countries where the UN has requested their presence. Yet how many of you know that such opportunities exist within the Police Force?? Like I always say, yes, Nigeria has many flaws but I have come to realize that it also has many gems hidden within it, including the civil service. It really boils down to individual foresight and priorities. So, you guys should stop dismissing everything you hear because you feel the salary is too small for anybody, moreso those in the US, Canada,UK etc to come back for. I have said this several times here, there are a lot of legitimate opportunities within Government. It is all up to you if you want to find them out, pursue them and make your own story different from the picture that has been painted of "ministry" workers. Paint your own picture! Inform yourselves! Not everybody goes to the ministry to sleep and eat groundnut. 10 Likes |

yahmaid04: It's true. There is a list from the presidency and I'm talking as a matter of fact. Everything I have stated here is factual. You all never think beyond the present. You just talk about the salary and how low it is. There are those who are not interested in the salary. They are focused on beyond what you are fighting for. There are a lot of things you people don't see and so will not understand. They are not there for 60k salary. 3 Likes |

Oh Lord, why do we misconstrue all we hear? Yes, there is a list from NASS and the presidency...this is not news. HOWEVER, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL BE HIRED WITH AND WITHOUT CONNECTION! I know this! So many people believe that if they aren't hired or they do not know anyone who is, then senators have taken all the available spots. I agree that recruitment processes should be fairer and the government could do better by being transparent but I must tell you all that people without connection, albeit few, are hired into the juiciest MDAs. This is exactly what is happening right now with those who are still awaiting the NNPC recruitment process from 2011-2012. It HAS been concluded and there were a few without connection who were hired and have been working for years. I know this first hand. Yet, people are still waiting. It's disheartening but we should not mix up information. Know facts and do not mix and match your assumptions from whatever your so called connections tell you. Until, the recruitment process is over, I implore people to stop posting suggestions, opinions, assumptions...post factual HELPFUL information. And if your case isn't positive, please do not dampen others' hopes. I have worked in positions within our government and I have seen cases of people who knew nobody and all odds were against them yet they triumphed. It made me believe that there is truly one called God. So, please understand that in every public recruitment process, there is a "connected" list or stakeholder list BUT it does not cancel out others who are hired transparently. 2 Likes |

4evavic: Yes, another documentation will be done at respective ministries after APLs have been issued....That's where bank details and all will also be supplied by the new appointees. That does not disqualify this though. I don't know who you spoke to but I can tell you categorically that this documentation at fcsc is solely for successful candidates. 3 Likes |
