FUTA VC DEBUNKS INCREMENT IN SCHOOL FEE As a result of the rumour on campus concerning the increment in the school fee, the student union government took a bold step by meeting with the management of the university.the SUG executives were led by the president in person of Com.Ashola Daniel. Furthermore in attendance are the vice chancellor, Prof.G.Daramola, DVC ACADEMICS, Prof. Fashakin and the dean of students , DR.B.K ALESE, popularly referred to by students as BABA EWE. The VC addressed this issue by saying "the management has not increase the school fees as I speak today 9th of Oct.2014.if such will come up, the student union leaders will be called to table.he further said "we are not unmindful of the economic state of our nation. He said the management so much respect the students. But has at now, the student Union leaders has not been called to a table concerning the increments of fee or not. The VC said has an innovation that the university would embark on from next session, every incoming 100l student would have a a branded TAB with the university logo on it,which is compulsory for all incoming 100l students and optional for the stallites,that is any interested persons can get theirs. Finally, the student union government of FUTA are at all times protecting your interest and using this medium to debunk every rumour of increase in school fees. Tampa Bay| The case of four 1-year old brothers from Florida, who were born from the same pregnancy but of four different colors, continues to mystify the scientists who have been studying the boys. The sons of single mother Sheila Wilkinson, appear to have taken all the traits of only one race each, and they all have a different skin color. Although this kind of phenomenon has been observed in the past with twins on some very rare occasions, it is the first case of multicolored quadruplets ever known to have existed. The 23-year old mother got pregnant during the 2012 Springbreak while partying in Louisiana. She admits she had multiple sexual partners over a short time period at and that she is not certain who the father of her children is. The boys were born on December 7th at the Tampa General Hospital, instantly attracting a lot of attention from the world’s media and also from the scientific community. They are named Jason, Timothy, Anthony and William. The geneticians who have studied the boys’ case, believe that they could be the offspring of four different fathers, a phenomenon called heteropaternal superfecundation. Fraternal (dizygotic) twins are the result of hyper ovulation, which means the release of multiple eggs in a single cycle. Superfecundation describes a situation where the eggs are fertilized by sperm from separate incidences of sexual intercourse. In a case where a woman has sex with different partners, the twins could have different fathers. In another case well documented case of multicolored twins, one parent was white and one was black, and – as can happen with any fraternal twins – Lauren took after her mother, Alison Spooner, while Hayleigh took after her father, Dean Durrant. What makes this family so remarkable is that this happened not once but twice, seven years apart. British researchers calculated that the odds of two sets of “black and white twins” in the same family are about 2 in a million.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday formally unveiled the new N100 commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The short ceremony which was initially scheduled for last Wednesday did not hold then because of the President’s journey to Burkina Faso. Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, joined the President to unveil the note during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting. Shortly after presenting the note, Emefiele said it was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation. He listed some countries that had before now issued currencies to mark epochal events to include Morocco, Russia and Costa Rica among others. He said the new note was produced with what he described as most advanced security features in the world. Emefiele listed the design platforms on which the note was made to include security, durability, attractiveness, cultural heritage and transformation. Jonathan lauded the CBN for coming up with the commemorative note, though it was coming a bit late since activities marking the nation’s centenary had been concluded. He recalled that commemorative N50 notes were also introduced to mark the nation’s 50th independence anniversary. Minister of Finance , Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, also commended the CBN for coming up with the notes. She specifically lauded the QRC feature on the back of the note. The code, if scanned with smart phones, leads users to a website where the nation’s history could be accessed. The minister also raised questions on the amount the CBN will use to print the new notes and whether it would be done locally .
