For those going to the interview (MSc applicants in particular), I think sharing this may help. Please check the attached document (it contains general questions likely asked by Ptdf and the format responses I furnished for each question). Check as guide and practice yours.

Do not panic. It is just a chat between you and the panelists.

I have admissions for a couple of schools in the UK, is it possible to change to a school that is not on the approved OSS list? even though it's the same country?

To avoid issues, better have admission for a school that is on the list

For those asking about changing uni. It is possible to change from any university that you chose and awarded the scholarship for (after getting the scholarship) in as far as it is the same country.

That said, for UK guys, u can change from UK to any other country but not the other way round unless if u r highly connected lol. For FGM, it was also possible to change from one to another as at 2019 but I don’t know if now.

I advise you don’t bother much about those for now. Concentrate on your preparation for the interview. Once u get the scholarship, then u can ask for guidance on all these things. Cheers

I still don’t understand why some guys here are very eager to open a watsapp consortium.

If you do that, what about those coming next year, a year after next year etc? Don’t you want them to learn from your experience here. Haven’t you being using this thread for information poaching and assistance?

Pls stick to this thread as suggested by Sadiik. When the list of successful applicant is out then open watsapp account. That is the norm every year. Cheers

Ptdf may interview both MSc and PhD applicants and later on release the names of those successful.

Now, if one is able to process everything in terms of admission, visa and the rest one can leave the country by September. If one is not able, then it is normal for him to wait till January as there are schools that have January intake. You scholarship will remain valid till that time. So stop spreading that Ptdf may not interview MSc applicants due to time constraints.

There are scholars that got their scholarship since last year but are yet to move to their chosen countries. My friend will be leaving in the next two weeks.

So no need to panic please.

Guys, there is no need for you to panic. I am optimistic that soon Ptdf will send invitation emails. As said by Fatima, you should try mastering your SoP/RP and look for ways u can update them.

When they send the email, they will ask you to update your interview Center, SoP/RP and unis if you need to.

I was one of the lucky ones that got the scholarship last year.so don't be deluded by anyone telling u that it's based on connection. Be focused, pray and do ur best. I believe that a vast number of the successful applicants will emerge from this platform. Best of luck to all those applying.

For those currently serving, try ur luck particularly if ur PoP is before the end of February. Some folks got it albeit they applied while serving.

I tried mine now and it opened immediately. It didn't show any "locked for update."

What do u think might be d reason for them locking it up?

Before it got locked, a message was posted 'it is locked for updates'

It showed the same thing for me but I now tried opening it and it did open

Thank you. Anyone who made it to interview shld know he/she is worthy. We can only pray for grace. The score might not be the only criteria. Things like the gap PTDF is trying to close based on courses of study could also come into play.

Please can u highlight more on those gaps?

I had my interview yesterday and it was a bit OK. I arrived the venue as early as 08:30am, I met well dressed and serious looking young men and women also coming for the interview and was led to a reception by a Ptdf staff. After a briefing by Ptdf officials, we were sent to the verification room where our interview invite and application print out were checked and confirmed from their computer, I am sure they must have checked our pictures as well. From there, they sent us in to different interview rooms, when it came to my turn, I entered and met three members panel and the interview started.
I first introduced myself, my course of study, my place of work, universities in to which I am applying etc after that, questions started coming. The lead interviewer jokingly said I must have applied to University of Manchester because I am a Man U fan and I defiantly said no, I gave my reasons. Other questions came in and I answered satisfactorily. They had to stop me at intervals and asked me to repeat what I said, they thought I crammed something from the way I spoke fast... lol
I was then asked to present my awards and publications and I did. My publications were noted and accepted but when it came to awards, it was a tug of war. I dragged and argued to the extent of angering the interviewers and they said let's bring white board and marker make you teach us our responsibility since we are answerable to you and not to Ptdf. At that point I apologized and 4 four out of seven awards I presented were accepted but after another round of arguments and clarifications. At the end , they applauded my doggedness but condemned what they called stubbornness and disregard of elders which I have shown. I apologized again and jocking said " a drowning man has no option but click to anything wey come his path" and they all bursted in to a laughter. They wished me all the best and I wished them the same. I departed and called the next person.

Seven awards! Just hope we r not from the same state oo

From all indications, like Phd applicants have been scheduled entirely for next week. because am yet to find any Phd student that have been interviewed. I stand to be corrected though!

U r right bro. I heard one ptdf staff saying that this week is entirely for MSc as next week is for PhD. So PhD scholars chill well before the battle starts.

Pls who has this year's ptdf assessment grading scale? Someone told us about the ssce scale, I think if we can get the other parts it will be of help.

Go back to the previous threads, I shared something related to my interview @ Kaduna center. To add to it, try to go through all the docs u used while applying and know ur proposed are of specialization. Different applicants were asked different questions. One never can tell how his own is gonna be. Learn from all the experiences of people that shared their interview drama here, irrespective of the center. Best of luck bro.
