Hi I left lagos yesterday via klm on trv to unite with sibling. I enrolled on arrive can app, vaccination card, negative COVID test from accredited lab, authorization from ircc to fly (did this via webform). All documents are checked at all airports, so print all documents. In Canada I was randomly selected to do a COVID test. I am to quarantine in my sisters house till results come out in 24 hours . If negative I can go about my business, if positive then further quarantine for 10 days. They also gave a home test kit to do in 10 days and send to them. Cheers

If you have visited 5 countries, how can they still mention travel history as a ground for denying you the visa again. You didn’t mention the travel history on the application?

For family ties in Nigeria, I am married, been married for 7 years and this is our miracle child, what other way can I address family ties? For Canada family ties I am not even blood related to the family inviting me so how can this concern be addressed

For travel history my dh is aerophobic so since we have been married we haven’t made any international trip together as the last trip I made to UK in 2014 alone wasn’t a pleasant experience, between 2010 - 2014 at least I visited 5 different countries in UK, UAE and Africa, so how else can I address this to meet up with travel timeline in Feb 2022

Upload this document in the “Proof of travel exemption” field. Please what does this mean ? is the proof of non discretionary purpose proof of vaccinantion

Yes, but very few and I noticed it’s people who did their biometric in November, processing starts AFTER BIOMETRIC so technically, it’s November application that is processed but it was submitted in October.

Of course you can, it’s just that no one can predict when you will get response on your application.

So many OCTOBER applications of spouse reuniting with family members still pending. In fact, when I saw complaints from them, me that I am travelling for normal tourism, I just calm down…..The back log is just too much, I have sent up to 5 web forms within a week…..Still no positive response, just GENERIC AUTO REPLY that I am getting.

Weird. Since your application has passed the 30 working days processing time, have you or the other folks tried sending them a webform? They did say they'll respond to webforms if an application is passed the slated processing time. That may help to know what's going on.

While each application is unique and handle time varies, it's concerning and worth knowing why there are delays in October applications like you mentioned. (Except all these applications belong to the class of deprioritized applications at this time). Worth finding out.

There are so many people who applied in October that their application is still pending, in fact, we have a whatsapp group that 100s of us are always complaining everyday. Seems they ignored October application and move to November/December application. Just tired.

According to many reports from people. OCTOBER APPLICATIONS are seriously pending.

Saw a group post now…..Someone applied December 5th, PPR came in today December 10th……Another person, DECEMBER 4th, PPR came in December 9th.

I also learnt that, IRCC are using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to process applications. So the AI is programmed to make the processing of some applications faster than the normal visitor visa.

If you have family in Canada, just use them as the person you want to reunite with. IRCC are misbehaving.

Lagos VFS

I don’t know about Lagos though because people that have used Lagos here posted that it takes up to 10-14 days to return passport.

But Abuja take within 7 days to return the passport.

I have never sent my passport to VFS before, so I don’t know how soon they send email, especially the Lagos own.

Does VFS send email updates when you send passport for visit visa? I recall when I sent my passport to Lagos VFS for PR visa, I got constant updates. However, my mums passport was sent on Friday Dec 3 and DHL confirmed delivery on Monday Dec 6 but there’s been no acknowledgement from VFS since then.

Please i need clarification on something. I also checked processing time and i saw 92 days. I submitted when processing time was 333 days and watched it dropped to 92 days. Is the present time frame for processing applicable to those who applied when it was 333 days coz my application would be 90 days in a couple of days. I just want to know what to expect

Not to burst your bubble, My first GCKey application was July 2021. It’s over 100 days now and no response on it. So that number of days they put on their site is a lie.

At least the new IRCC Portal 30 working days is still true for people reuniting with family member in Canada.

I have application submitted on GCKey since July, no response on it.

I am beginning to loose hope on the new portal as they are also not attending to people going for visit without reuniting with Family Member.

My own 30 working days will be on Friday but will the other people not getting response after 30 working days, Mehn, I don loose hope laidis. My travel plan is Time-Based.

Meanwhile in the WhatsApp group I belong for people who applied via the new portal someone from Philippines got approval in 6 days .

The new portal is extremely fast in processing when you are reuniting with a family member. Last month, I saw someone post about getting approval within 6 working days here.

It’s just normal tourist or visitor visa that is taking long…..Mine is 27 working days today but they still haven’t made decision on the application. Just tired because I need to travel ASAP.

As someone mentioned here some days ago, if you have been to USA or Canada in the past 5 years or you currently have USA VISA, they won’t ask for Bank Statement.

So I guess your case fall into that category because it’s NOT POSIBLE for them not to ask for Proof of Funds (Bank Statement) if you are not in that category I mentioned above.

Their response was extremely fast for your application (12 working days) but I guess they refused your own application because you didn’t upload your bank statement.

So we (I and my Mom) applied for a visiting visa to see my Bro who is a PR in Canada for a short stay. Initially I did the application through the old portal and days letter I found out about the new portal and applied again.

On the new portal we applied as a group (family), that was on 19th Nov 2021. PPR came 7th Dec for my mom and they refused me.

Reasons they gave for my refusal
- You will not come back based on your assets and financial status
- you will not come back based on your ties in Canada and country of residence
- you will not come back based on travel history ( I cannot do anything here really, I have not really had reason except for now to travel though)

Now this is the Issue - My mom is aged and cannot travel alone, we stated this in the application reason I am accompanying her. We are first time travellers. She is saying of what use is the visa when she cannot travel alone except someone she is comfortable (Family member) with accompanies her.

- I have a nice job (Manager position). I uploaded my employment letter
- my assets (Landed properties) are jointly owned with my bro in Canada. uploaded the docs too
- I have a running lease contract with MTN Nigeria. I uploaded the doc

So House, what else can I do in my situation to respond to them? Note, I did not upload my bank statement since it is my bro that is sponsoring the visit which he wrote letter of support with his bank statement. should I have uploaded my bank statement? Do I need to write a strong LOE putting emotions as to why my aged mom cannot travel alone and the visa could be of no use to her?

I hate stress, you see why I jejely dey my dey enjoying myself. I am going to spend money and whiteman is refusing me visa too!...... just for laughs

That was my main question when I saw the news, I just asked myself that, what about people’s International Passport that they are holding.

I cancelled my UK Visa application last month before my Biometric date because I wasn’t totally comfortable with the way they are handling application as at then.

Now this!, so sad, as people still have their passport with them.

Strong financial and personal assets because there’s really not much you can do to travel history except you want to go to Dubai or South Africa or Kenya and return before applying for a visitors visa.

Debbie, I guess your 30 working days will be Monday, patiently waiting for your update on Monday to know if they are using the 30 working days interval for normal Visit Visa for applicants NOT reuniting with Family member in Canada.
