Saraki, Baraje Are Not Entitled To Guards – Police by Sincere 9gerian: 9:07pm On Sep 09Federal Capital Territory Police Commissioner Femi Ogunbayode says Senator Bukola Saraki and factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abubakar Baraje are not entitled to police escorts.Police guards were suddenly withdrawn from the two key figures of the ‘New PDP’ on Saturday, on the same day the police sealed the faction’s headquarters in Abuja.In a telephone interview with Daily Trust yesterday, Ogunbayode said “there are categories of public servants that are entitled to have police escort based on the office they occupy” and that Saraki and Baraje were not among such people.Ogunbayode said Saraki should still enjoy some level of security in Kwara State where he is a former governor, but his current position does not entitle him to a police detail.He said also police escort can be attached to any Nigerian after an appraisal of perceived threat to that person by the police.The commissioner said it was just coincidence that the police escorts attached to Sakari and Baraje were removed at this time when the PDP is in crisis.
