If you truly believe in its performance, you should be able to present its achievements with facts and convince others based on evidence, not insults.

OAU was up there in the 70s but downhill from Babangida's time. The Awolowo vision for the school was outstanding but ended up being unsustainable.

The hype machine kept OAU up there in the conversation for decades but the rot started earlier. Most of their alumni are well aware of it but don't want to be ridiculed, so they will argue vehemently that all is well and they try too hard to get noticed. Most of them were sold fake dreams and they can't do anything about it. The school always and still attracts lots of brilliant students though.
