Education / Re: GWR: Subair Enitan Starts 50-Hour Hand Wash-A-Thon (Photos) by Amalekki: 8:33pm On Nov 24, 2023
Is that healthy? Please face your studies!

The top layer of our skin (the stratum corneum) is our skin's key protective layer. But frequent hand washing with repetitive exposure to water, soap, and skin cleansers will disrupt this layer. Over time, this leads to dry skin, further disruption of the skin barrier, and inflammation.

I love the Nigerian military in general. They are doing great job anywhere they are called to serve. They are doing well and they are the best in the world.

CBN and NNPC are totally useless, they are inefficient, and like the Burkinabe doctor I criticise them with all my heart and soul. They don't know how to do anything. CBN and NNPC, ayam criticising you very vigorously like the Burkina guy shey you hear

While enjoying your bachelor hood u should also know the clock is ticking. Getting married at 40 is already a no no. Imagine going for school run at 52, when ur mates are already aspiring grandpa's. When u get old ur kids may still be in year 2 in d University
School runs at 52 may actually be fun and make you feel young instead of feeling like old man grandpa. There are two sides to every coin.

the constitution is there for you to read. When you " Volunteraly " denounce your citizenship you have no right to contest for any position in this country.
If you are a naturalized Nigerian, originally from another country. It does not apply to a Nigerian by birth.

It depends on you,
For Wizkid, Tiwa, Davido, Olamide etc, it's music.
Osimhen, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Awoniyi etc., it's sports.
Others engineering, IT, medicine, arts, law, banking, investing, architecture, teaching, research etc.
Pick the one you are ok with and passionate about, build a strong foundation on the basics and work hard to expert level.

You are right.

There is no shortcut to success especially in a highly professional field. If you don't have a degree then you better stack up on certifications and be ready to defend whatever skills you have on your resume/CV if you manage to get interviews. The real deal starts when you eventually get the job. Cybersecurity roles are not for the half-baked, not even the more mechanical & less technical ones like vulnerability analyst, compliance officer/analyst, or end user training officer etc. If you are in core blue, purple or red team (malware coders, engineers, pentesters etc) in your organization then you better be well prepared as millions of dollars investment is at stake. However, it's okay to initially target small organizations to gain valuable experience but getting in is still a competition with hundreds of thousands of other Cybersecurity wannabes.

emoboy4u:
Thank you very much.

I was just trying to inform the one that asked if he could get a Cybersecurity 'expert' role without a degree. I responded based on my experience discussing with my supervisors (CCIEs) at work.

A lot of these IT stuffs can be learnt online. Even during my university days, bulk of my projects were as a result of knowledge from Indian guys on YouTube. It doesn't have to be a computer science degree, just have a degree (though STEM degree is cute) then you can transition. Organizations are more comfortable when you have a degree than no degree.

'Expertise' comes with relevant 'experience'. Security is a very critical issue that can ruin a company in a blink. I doubt if any established firm can entrust their network to a rookie, only if it's an internship which requires a degree!

Politics / Re: How Economy Fared Under Obasanjo, Yar’adua, Jonathan, Buhari by Amalekki: 6:20pm On Jun 09, 2023
Read again and debate what was put before you instead of your own interpretation, I never said privatization was right or wrong.

I said "the implementation". I refer to the way Atiku's team under Obasanjo handled the privatization process for national assets like Ajaokuta Steel Company, Nigerian Machine Tools, Inland Rolling Mills (Osogbo, Katsina, Jos), Nigeria Airways, NITEL, NEPA, ASCON Aluminium Smelting Company, NICON NOGA/Hilton, etc.

Secondly, I stated that the bar was very low. Obasanjo came in after a prolonged military rule with a constrained economy.

djon78:

I disagree
Privatisation was the right thing to do. Government has no business running anything

Look at nitel, Nigeria airways, our refineries everything run by government is corrupt

So Obasanjo did well on that

His regime is a million times better than what APC bequeathed us

Now just imagine if Obasanjo had stayed in office till 2019. Japa levels would have reduced to a bare minimum
Maybe, though the starting bar was very low for Obasanjo. He came in on the back of a prolonged military dictatorship when Nigerians were deliberately denied basic things like mobile services and the financial sector was stifled. Nigerians were shocked back then to see citizens of small neighbouring countries using mobile phones while they were limited to highly regulated land lines accessible to very few. Most only had access to public phones with long queues.

So Obasanjo only had to open up the economy and investors did the rest. It is noteworthy that Obasanjo/Atiku's government actually nailed the coffin on our manufacturing sector among others. Their privatization program was poorly implemented. In telecoms, while private investments like MTN and others thrived, Nigeria's NITEL couldn't keep up with the speed of growth.

In my opinion, we have had terribly poor presidents with only rare moments of good tidings. They have all been below par.

As simple as ABC.
There are several exceptions as a huge number of Igbos don't reason like that but for most of them especially the hateful ones, this is spot on.
A close associate is both Igbo and Obidient but always maintained that he is very okay with Tinubu winning even long before the election. He said Tinubu would always build a great team to lead the government.
