The Abagana ambush which is
regarded as the greatest and most
successful ambush in Africa took
place on the 31 st March 1968
during the Nigerian-Biafran civil
war.
A whooping 5,000 Nigerian
soldiers walked into an ambush of
700 Biafran soldiers strategically
hiding and surrounding the
unsuspecting Nigerian army. The
Nigerian army drove right into their
ambush. The Biafran guerilla
commander led by Major Uchendu
encouraged his men when they
saw the Nigerian troop arriving the
South East in their number. They
used the ogbunigwe explosiv. They
targeted the fuel tankers carried by the Nigerian army which
rocked multiple explosions.
They fired shots into the troop
killing almost the whole 5,000
Nigerian troop.Major Uchendu
was commended for his
bravery for not retreating when
he saw the massive Nigerian
army but stayed well prepared
and ambushed the Nigerian
army from the bushes. They
couldn't even tell where exactly
the attack was coming from.

Very tragic to say the least

The new Governor of Anambra State, Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has claimed he met only N300 million in the state’s treasury when he assumed office.

Soludo revealed this while answering questions on Arise TV on Tuesday.

According to the former Central Bank Governor, he has inherited debts running into “hundreds of billions of naira” from his predecessor, Willie Obiano, according to audited accounts.

Soludo said: “In terms of debt I inherited, it runs into hundreds of billions of Naira. In that of cash, we met about 300 million Naira only. In fact, let’s not talk about it. Our treasury is funny.

henceforth to help us fulfill our promises for infrastructure and development of the state.

“But in terms of what I met in our coffers, my brother, it’s pathetic. Please let us not go there. God will help us”.

Obiano was apprehended by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as he tried to leave the country on the same day he handed over to Soludo.
