The warrior is noble and strong. His resolve is firm and his commitment is total. His is to kill, to shed blood and to be killed.
His is to die for his king and for a worthy cause. His is to protect and lay down his life for his faith, his nation, his people and his loved ones.
What manner of men are these whose spirit speak of such valour and nobility? Consider the ancient Spartans and the Roman warriors of old.

*Fani-Kayode
Consider the fearsome Vikings who believed that it was a curse to die a peaceful death and that the only way to heaven was to die violently and heroically in fearsome battle.
Consider the greatest of all warriors that ever lived, the noble and gallant Achilles. Consider Alexander the Great who conquered the world with his sword.
Consider King David, the greatest of all the kings of Israel, who was a man of blood and war and yet whom God so loved and who loved God more than any other.
Consider David’s “strongmen” who stood with him through thick and thin and who fought for and protected him to the very end.
Consider their gallant captain, the mighty Joab and the others, Abishai, Asahel, Eleazer, the Tachomonite, Shammah, Benaiah, Eliam, Igal and Uriah the Hittite.
These were David’s ”strongmen”: all great and valiant men of war whose courage was legendary and whose loyalty to their God and their King was unflinching and unquestionable.
Consider Shaka the Zulu, Beowulf the Nordic king and William Wallace the liberator of Scotland. Consider King Henry V of England who routed the French at the battle of Agincourt even though he was outnumbered by three men to one.
Consider Julius Caesar who came, who saw and who conquered. Consider the great Heracles who was a descendant of the mighty Hercules himself.
Consider Spartacus, who turned slaves into men. Consider Samson, who slew a troop with the jaw bone of an ass and yet who fell at the touch of a woman.
Consider Gideon who slew the Midianites, Jeptha who sacrificed his own daughter, Joshua who brought down the walls of Jericho and Jehu, who drove his chariot like a madman, who slew the witch-Queen Jezebel and who fulfilled prophesy by ensuring that the dogs ate her flesh and licked her blood in the valley of Jezreel.
Consider those that laid down their lives for our great and noble faith: Paul of Tarsus, the greatest of all the apostles, who brought the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the gentiles and to the wider world.
Peter the disciple, who became the rock on whom the Church of God was built. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, Stephen, Isaiah, Elijah, Daniel, John and all the other disciples and prophets of old.
For martyrs and heroes that lived and died for God are also gallant warriors who feared not death and who stood firm to the end in defense of their faith.
Consider George Washington who led his troops into battle and whose war cry was “victory or death”. Consider the charge of the Light Brigade, the courage of the 600, at the battle of Balaclava in the fields of the Crimea.
Consider the Ikemba, Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu who resisted genocide and who established Biafra. Consider Isaac Boro, the champion of the Delta, who rejected tyranny and who fought for his people.
Consider Ken Saro-Wiwa whose prose moved mountains and who refused to bow to a dictator. Consider Moshood Abiola, who defied the oppressor and who died a martyr.
Consider Patrice Lumumba who died for his country, John Jerry Rawlings who liberated a generation, Thomas Sankara who stood for Africa and Malcom X who brought dignity to his people.
Consider Robespierre, Marat and the heroes of the French revolution who defied kings and queens and who watered the tree of liberty with blood.
Consider Muammar Ghaddafi, who empowered his people, Gamal Abdel Nasser, who gave hope to the Arab, Fidel Castro, who broke the yoke of bondage and Nelson Mandela who brought joy to millions.
Consider Toussaint L’Ouverture who freed the slaves of Haiti and who established a proud black nation. Consider General Lee at the battle of Gettysburg, Oliver Cromwell at the battle of Nasby, Horatio Nelson at the battle of Trafalgar and King Leonidas, with his gallant ”300”, at the battle of Thermopylae.
Consider Generals Marshal, Patton, Eisenhower, Rommel and MacArthur in the great battles of the Second World war. Consider the ”Black Scorpion”, General Benjamin Adekunle, with his 3rd Marine Commando at the Battle of Ore.
Consider Zhukov at the siege of Leningrad and his courageous exploits at the battle of Moscow. Consider Bernard Montgomery, with his fearless ”Desert Rats”, at the battle of Alamein, Charles De Gaulle at the siege of Paris and Chang Kai-Shek in the war against Japan.
Consider Attila the Hun, Ghengis Khan, Peter the Great, Richard the Lion-heart, Salahudeen the Compassionate, Katsumoto the Samurai, Hannibal of Carthage and Hector of Troy.
Consider our gallant amazons and female warriors of old- Boadicea of East Anglia, Joan D’Arc of France, Elizabeth 1 of England, Amina of Zaria, Moremi of Ife, Golda Meir of Israel, Margret Thatcher of Great Britain, Indira Ghandi of India, Queen Idia of Benin, Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan, Queen Esther of the Medes and Persians, Cleopatra of the Blue Nile and Egypt and Yaa Asantewaa of the Ashanti Kingdom.
Consider Generals Foche and Hague at the battle of the Somme. Consider George Armstrong Custer at the battle of the Little Big Horn, the Duke of Wellington at the battle of Waterloo and Napoleon Bonaparte, in his full glory and power, at the battle of Marengo.
Had these great men and women all not stood their ground and had they all not played their role in our collective history, where would the world be today? They sacrificed their today so that we may have our tomorrow.
They lived and died for the sake of others and asked for only one thing in return: that their names should live forever and that we should never forget their noble deeds and their worthy sacrifices.
And we must not forget, nay we dare not forget, for as Martin Luther King once said “if a man is not ready to die for something, then he is not worthy of living for anything”.
The warrior is prepared to die for his cause. That is what makes him so noble and that is why he will always have a special place in our hearts.
May the spirit of the warrior and selfless courage fill us all and, like the true warriors that we are meant to be, when the angel of death comes may the Lord give us the strength and boldness to look at him fearlessly in the face and treat him with the contempt and disdain that he deserves- knowing that he has lost his sting and that, by the power of Christ Jesus, he has been conquered and crushed.
When the dark angel comes, as come he must for us all, let us be men and let us die a good death, not cringing and crying like puppies, but like true warriors, fighting to the bitter end. For it is never for the warrior to ask the why: it is only for the warrior to do or die.
The warrior does not vanish into the night. The warrior will not go down without a fight

Saraki's case is gonna be An Acid Test of The Anti Corruption Crusade of Buhari's Administration
PoliticsRe: The State Of Nigeria Under President Buhari by amAZEing: 12:56pm On Sep 13, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
It is no news that since May 29, Nigeria has been delving from a very bad situation to a near comatose situation. Our economy did not only suffer but appears to be as the biggest victim of Buhari's mal-administration and ineffectiveness. Three sectors that I shall talk about in this article are the Economy, Security and the Petroleum sectors. Let's proceed...

STATE OF THE ECONOMY UNDER BUHARI
During the electioneering period, President Buhari promised a 'gigantic' but illogical economic prosperity when/if elected. Immediately he was elected and sworn-in, everything changed for the negative. Job losses everywhere and uncertainty/negative slide is the order of the day. Let's see JP Morgan issue

JP MORGAN:
To those that don't understand, JP Morgan is simply an index. Investors trust their index so much that over N40 trillion is put up by investors on bonds that JP Morgan list. In 2012 Nigeria's bond under the able leadership of Dr Goodluck Jonathan, ex-Finance Minister Ngozi Iweala and former CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi FOR the first time was listed by the index. This brought about investment into our bond market by foreign investors. In January this year, the Index placed our bond market on a warning list. Unfortunately, they decided to de-list us from their index starting from next month.

Why Nigeria Bond Market Was removed:
JP Morgan's decision to de-list Nigeria's bond is summarily because of lack of fiscal policies by the Buhari government and CBN's tickling/manipulation of the Foreign exchange (www.reuters.com/article/idUSL5N11F1YQ20150909). The failure of Buhari to constitute a cabinet/implement fiscal programs has cost Nigeria potential investors and led to loss of some of the investors that Buhari inherited. The country is bleeding.

JP Morgan Never Asked Nigeria To Devalue The Naira:
Contrary to the fables in some quarters, JP Morgan never asked Nigeria to devalue the Naira as a pre-condition to remain. It only raised concern that CbN was tickering with the Naira thereby allowing it a false value which no investor will accept. In simple terms, it advocated that market indices determine the market value (which some of us have been advocating). It also called for fiscal policies to be implemented , which Buhari led administration is yet to do. The country is bleeding.

STATE OF THE PETROLEUM SECTOR
Okay, since time immemorial, patriotic Nigerians have insisted that the ongoing TAM is due to the efforts by the immediate past administration of Dr Goodluck Jonathan. The administration in March this year was very clear when it told the Senate that our refineries will start working optimally from the first quarter of 2016. On assumption to office, the Buhari administration in June 11 without lifting a 'shovel' came out to say that the Portharcourt refinery will resume optimal production in July www.premiumtimesng.com/business/184850-port-harcourt-refinery-to-start-production-august-nnpc.html. Not done, they came out on July 20 that ALL 4 refineries will start optimal production in July
www.premiumtimesng.com/business/185402-nigerias-four-refineries-to-resume-production-in-july.html.

July came and gone...August came and has gone... Now the GMD of NNPC on September 10 came out to say the 4 refineries will start working optimally in December
www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/189786-nigerias-4-refineries-must-be-functional-within-90-days-nnpc-boss.html

I won't be surprised If by December they shift it to January/February 2016 in line with the projected first quarter by GEJ administration.

STATE OF SECURITY/INSECURITY:
As a pastor in Tinubu House of Prayer Ministry, Yemi Osinbajo was to use spiritual warfare in alliance with the military experience of renowed War field marshall, General Muhammadu Buhari to uproot Boko Haram from our territory. That was the message that APC gave Nigerians during the electioneering period. But since coming to power, Boko Haram that was in their extinction phase as at May 28 suddenly came back and have been terrorising Nigerians in the most brutal manner. Since May 29, over two thousand Nigerians has lost their lives. The latest victims are the unfortunate people in the IDP camp in Adamawa state. May their souls rest in peace.

'I didn't leave Nairaland forum because of bully-wanabes'

Nairaland is a community that has provided me the platform to share my thought on issues and advocate for better governance of our country. I left Nairaland for some reasons; chief of which was to re-define myself, do some retrospection and extend my frontiers to other social networks (Facebook and Twitter). Unfortunately, I suffered a major setback on Facebook courtesy some pained APC fans. On twitter I am doing just fine. Another reason was an issue I raised to my friend and Founder/Admin of NL which in his own wisdom was ignored.

Before leaving Nairaland, I first sought advice and opinion from some close friends. Virtually ALL of them objected to my exit. After I left, some people privately inquired to know why I left and moved for my comeback, I turned down their request. Nevertheless, they still showed me unwavering support. However, I realised that though my exit offered me the time and privilege to establish myself on other fronts, it was clearly not accepted by the people that have always stood by me and other members of the patriotic Wailing family here on NL. As a prospective public servant, I live for the society and not for myself. On this note, I have decided to rescind my earlier decision and return to Nairaland(my primary e-constituency).

Though back to NL, I shall continue to tweet on my twitter handle and post on my FB page. I wish that my return do not NL may spark controversy because I am focused on promoting good governance for the good of Nigerians which Buhari led government continue to neglect. I shall not be distracted.

My sincere apology to all those that felt let-down by my earlier decision to quit. I also apologise to the PDP family that felt abandoned by my earlier decision. To those that continued to support me even in my absence, MAY God Almighty bless you RICHLY. God Knows that I shall forever remain indebted to you.

I'm ending this piece by reiterating my allegiance to the patriotic aspiration of Nigerians and the Peoples Democratic Party.

May God Bless Us All

Great master piece bro.

You always make a good read whenever u push out ur less biased articles like this.

barcanista:
Senator Bukola Saraki:
Saraki was a "mere" appointee of Obasanjo prior to the 2003 Governorship election. He won the PDP primaries courtesy Oloye Olusola Saraki, his father and political godfather of Kwara state. He was to be elected as Kwara state governor not on his own but solely on his father. His father had installed then Governor Lawal in 1999 and replaced him him Bukola in 2003. In 2010 Saraki declared for President. He along with IBB and Atiku Abubakar were the Northern PDP aspirants that sought to unseat President Jonathan in 2011. In same 2010 a Northern caucus within the PDP called for a consensus Northern candidate among the three northern aspirants. Atiku defeated Saraki and IBB to be the northern candidate for the PdP. Saraki pledged his allegiance to Atiku during the PDP Presidential primaries for 2011 election but Atiku lost WOEFULLY to incumbent Goodluck Jonathan. Saraki couldn't even influence other North Central PDP caucus apart from his Kwara to vote Atiku.

In 2011 Saraki's father wanted Bukola to go to Senate but Gbemi his daughter to become Governor. Saraki however had Abdulfattah Ahmed in mind. The truth is Saraki and his father played a fast one on Kwara people. The ACN candidate Muhammed Balgore was gaining momentum, Saraki's father had to play the Gbemi card by forming ACPN to confuse the electorates and split the ACN's vote. In fact, on June 5, 2011 just 8 days after Gov Ahmed was inaugurated , Olusola Saraki and Bukola Saraki "re-united" after Bukola "begged", the PDP and Pa Saraki ACPN merged as one BIG Family. Pa Olusola Saraki was again affirmed to be the leader of PDP in Kwara. Saraki and his sister Gbemi were to play the same trick in 2015. How? Gbemi remained in PDP after Saraki moved to APC in 2013. She caused lots of troubles and had her faction and then dumped PDP to APC on the eve of 2015 Presidential election after deliberately destroyed the party from within.

Saraki's ascension to Senate Presidency is not due to the political commando of Saraki but because he had to bend to PDP's compromise and also because PDP needed to neutralise APC's proposed structure. It would have infact been the reverse if Saraki was APC candidate and Lawan was the rebel. Also note that the power and influence of the Senate President starts and ends inside the Senate Chamber and the occupant's Senatorial district. In fact, Senators may elect to kick him out if he bites more than he can chew. Also looking at Saraki, with exception of Governor Ahmed I don't think Saraki can boast of any influential loyalist. Even Ahmed is not a force of influence among Governors like we have Rochas of Imo, Wike of Rivers, Amosun of Ogun, Ajimobi of Oyo, Fayose of Ekiti, Oshiomole of Edo, Shetimma of Borno, Obiano of Anambra etc.

Comparing Bola Ahmed Tinubu political influence with that of Bukola Saraki is like comparing an Eagle with a tse-tse fly simply because both have wings. Saraki's sycophant should not make him believe that he rose to SP seat on his own.

CAVEAT: This article is purely on the political influence of both men. It is not an endorsement of either party nor a statement of sainthood.
