Creat hunger and offer palliative. Solving a problem they created and calling themselves genius. A free and prosperous citizen is a danger to tyrants. Policies hailed by only fellow party agents. No single economic independent school of taught has supported any of these policies. If you doubt me provide names of economic scholars that side with this government? |

Politics / Re: How Supporting Igbo Businesses Can Transform The Nigerian Economy by amazingspiderma: 8:12am On Aug 14 |
Progressive cultural practices built societies, it doesn't matter the tribe. Developing people through productive skill transfer and enterprising is secret to their success. This enables the igbo people to rise economically within the same generation. A gateman can become the father of a billionaire. A brother/sister sacrifice his education for his siblings to get the best opportunity in education and rise in society . Business entrepreneurship development from master to servant. In the end servants become masters and repeat the same circle. In this Igbo enterprise system people are allowed to graduate and become greater than their masters in wealth. Even the guy with Lacasera and gala has this vision. Vision is a currency, every igbo man posses. The Igbos are just following the template for community growth and development. |

Amazing Our peers have left us behind China, India Brazil. They are the core of the BRICs nations. Even the BRICs prefer Ethiopian to join them. Now we hang around Pakistani, Lebanese and import terrorism from Afghanistan. Niger, Mali and Bokina Faso are distancing themselves from us. Nations are building new worlds for their generations, but we are sending our children back to ancient barbaric circumstances. 41 Likes 5 Shares |

Politics / Re: How Did Nigeria Get To This Level Of Economic Crisis From Best Answer Wins 50k by amazingspiderma: 11:16am On Aug 09 |
There is nothing special about the Nigerian economy. Bad policy anywhere will yield poor economy. Good policy can also yield bad results if not properly implemented. An economy that does not promote human capital development is bound to fail. The baton of development is sustainable only if we train our people to be productive, patriotic and creative, without which they will lavish the inheritance of their future children. A man who refuse to train his children will end up with people who have negative effect on his wealth. They will spend all his inheritance and then result to borrowing to maintain their lavished life style. Whoever is asking this question, I know you are place highly in Nigeria. Please get the right people in place regardless of tribe or religion. Share with your vision and let them help you tune it with the current reality on ground. We can build 10 factories in one year or in 10 years. It depends on planning within the available resources and it immediate and long term impact on Nigerians. In construction, no building can grow faster than the concrete casted.Hence one cannot build on wet concrete. Subsidy removal was important, but sudden removal was no ideal. The shock and financial implications to citizens was like asking a patient recovering from stroke to commence push up. The vision must be broken down to do able steps for the people. One must learn how to stand before walking. Secondly the kind of politics over the past decade has been that of division in a multicultural and multi religious politics where dominance of people from different culture and religion is the order of the day. Nigeria has been poorly managed based on instincts, sentiment, affiliation to group of person and access to few. In Lagos people were asked not to vote or protest. I fear this trend might continue even when a more inclusive government comes in. Bad habits dies hard. If such reckless utterances are propagated by those in power then there policies in position will be nothing but a reflection of those values. If Nigeria belongs to everyone, then we have to proclaim it and live up to it testament. People are saving money no longer to invest in Nigeria, but to leave the country. Millions that would have been invested in the economy are channeled for traveling and escaping the country. An average Nigeria who leaves the country pays 5 million to external countries, agencies, aviation companies and future personal income taxes that is not including brain drain problem. Feed is no longer affordable because we have refused to handle the current herders migration farmer crisis properly. Call a shovel a spade will not help anyone. People need food, they need it to be affordable. Tolerating the on going issue will only create more Internally Displaced Persons in the nation. People should not starve, we are not at war. Lastly, what is the benefit of been a Nigerian. Patriotism is a word that has been missing in the last decade. No one proclaims it. Those in authority don't live by it as well. Appointment, employment, Projects are driven along questionable lines. Our children are learning from our behavior. Leaving them a legacy of been patriotic is the greatest gift we can give them. Leadership must be patriotic. I conclude with the famous words of J.F.Kennedy: "Ask not, what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country ". |
