1. Resolve what issue? The one I see trying to make an issue out of nothing is you. Your wife is not always going to agree with what your brother or his wife says or thinks, and that is a fact of life. She is a human being with her own ideas regarding her life and her family, and the sooner you realize that, the better for you and your wife, regardless of how your brother or his wife decides to take it. She is married to you and not to your brother or his wife. Work on developing a deep understanding of that at least.

2. Is your wife asking you to completely cut off from your brother and his wife that you would suggest going your separate ways? Something tells me it might be that you need to calm down before you escalate this to where it ought not to go at this point.

Don't pretend! Instead, accept that your wife has every reason to have a differing opinion about her family and life, and respect that if you ever intend to see your marriage work well.

My approach would have been different, but I’m seeing things a different light now.

1. Exactly what is your priority? Your own family or your brother's family, or what exactly?

2. Which is the happy family? You and your wife and kids? Your brother and his wife and kids? Or the family between you and your brother minus the women?

There are literally millions of other families you and your wife and kids can bond with. The US is a melting pot of all peoples and cultures from all over the globe. Why limit the bonding to just your brother's family? Why did you leave Nigeria if you were only looking for bonding with others from the same village and clan that you are from?

3. Your wife said she does not agree! Why not leave it at that and explain to the other that your wife does not want what she wants?

Would you rather resolve the issue and everyone is cool? Or we go separate ways and pretend everything is fine?

So my wife and I dated 4 years before 2022 before I was approached by my brother and his wife about Japa, they said it’ll be easier if I Japa married, so we got married and they loaned us about 90/95% of the entire funds needed for the journey.
We moved to the UK and after things got easier we refunded all the money within a year of graduation. Then we relocated to the US where my brother and his wife are, my wife was already pregnant here.

At some points I noticed some frictions between her and my brothers wife, like her texting my my brothers wife and she won’t reply her text.

My wife stopped talking to her and kept to her lane, my brothers wife started coming through me ask for things she should normally ask my wife like wig vendor and things like that. At some point they got back together late last year. My wife is already saying things like she appreciates them loaning us money which was refunded but she won’t like it to be like she’s been trampled upon because of their help.

Early this year, another thing happened around snubbing someone etc and I don’t know the details, my wife has vowed never to go to their house anymore. I still go there and my brother comes to our place too but his wife not coming. My brother at some point called to ask if they are not disturbing us because sometimes they come and my wife is not around or not coming to their house and not even talking to them, he just wants to know if things are good between us.

At this point, bros wife want to have bonding time with our son, would suggest picking him up for the weekend etc, while wifey doesn’t agree to it. Things like these breaks my heart and I just need a way to fix things respectively btw both parties.

We’re happy family and I don’t like the idea of separating families when you’re in foreign land and you have the opportunity to bond and have fun. I don’t want to go to my brother and also discuss this because it will sound like I’m reporting his wife to him.

Please how do I approach this and bring both families together again? Your contribution will go a long way.

Bro, i would advise you to mainly focus on Construction, considering that you have had a previous experience, once you get a job in the construction, then you can start developing your skills related to IT. I made the same mistake when i came down to Canada. I have always been working in the Construction industry for more than 12 years even though i studied computer science. When i came to Canada, i left my previous experience and wanted to do something related to IT, the kind suffer wey i passed through no be here lol. The IT job is saturated.

Somehow along the line, I developed the interest in IT, I did an Msc program in data science in the UK. I love the idea of the possibility of working remotely and still get paid well, however I am still transitioning as I don’t have enough hands on experience to deliver any given task.

I just got my PR in Canada and I’m honestly confused on which career path to pursue. I can deliver in construction project, but construction in Canada is different from what I did in Nigeria. Chasing a career in IT could be difficult considering that the market is saturated with data analyst already.

People I need advice, what are the necessary courses needed before I can practice project management in Canada and what could be my fate chasing a data oriented career.
