Fiction books sells bro; you just have to find the right pattern.

I write fiction books and I am doing fine. Non fiction books are also great. Pen names are useless to me; I use my Nigerian name.

Integrity is very important in fiction books. That's all I can say.

I like the way you Presented your view, you're also very correct. but my fear is for newbies that keep chasing keywords as If book buyers are robots. My opinion here is what works for me. That is why I stop writing new book for now, rather I focus on updating content and republishing many of my books.
once I see very important info about what I have written before, I pull the book down, update and perhaps, two weeks later the book is back on sale

I think this is working for me because most of the books are Kindle exclusive. I don't know how right or wrong I am on this ... asap

I just don't understand why anyone will be chasing a perfect keywords. When perfect keywords don't exit.

If it's an English book, out of the seven boxes.

I use three for USA market, two for UK, the remaining two each for Canada and Australia market.

Don't forget all these small market, because they are low fruit hanging.

No, Keyword is not everything in this business! Good content is! I'm rather Surprise how some persons waste a lot of energy looking for the right keyword.
what is the function of keywords if I may ask? To the best of my knowledge keyword only make your book visible when searched by your targeted readers.

Now the right keyword selection will start from selecting the right book tittle , which is a reflection of the book content, not reflection of the most searched keywords, otherwise you'll be misleading your readers
Also the 7 hidden keywords should reflect the book content, possibly taken from some of the major headings, theme or ideas being projected.
Contrary to this, you might even have a reader who will give you a bad review because your tittle is misleading.

This reminds me of the "right niche syndrome" A lot of people ask me which niche do you think I should write about?
My response is always "any one you can do perfectly" The reason is that all niche is important just as all occupation is important. the basic thing here is to write a winning Book. the topic you have written on might not be trending now, just one global news about something like that will make people start reading books on that.

Don't,' be deceived by screenshots of those making thousands of dollars monthly on kdp as a Nigerian, that kdp 35% royalty payment is something that will grow big gradually, so focus on making it little but regularly.

If a newbie follow this your advice he will have himself to blame, I am not disputing the fact that good content remain king.

But boss, come to think of it like this let say you spend your time writing a book of 50k words, but no one is interested in it, nor no one is searching for it.

This means all Energy's wasted, you can ask those that have been there before they will tell you that don't invent the will, join the bandwagon but standout with unique content and cover.

Keywords take 60% in this publishing business, unless you are not interested in the money making aspect.
In my humble experience apart from content and cover what makes or mar a book is the keywords.

No boss, I use to check the review mostly the critical one, what those people want that is not in the book is what I research on and join it with all materials.
I am not doing anything except kdp, so writing is not a problem
