The Vice President has openly declared that there is a gangup of elites against the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration. In a statement he made at an event earlier this week, "There is a gangup against Pesident Buhari. The elites are ganging up and they have representatives everywhere..in politics, business, religion..."

He stated that anyone castigating an initiative like TraderMoni that targets the poor masses is evil. According to him, TraderMoni is a part of the Social Investment Programme, a key project of the administration.
